The Mystery of Shouting

Tuesday, 19 November
Text: I Sam.4:4-8
More Lessons: Josh.6:15-20

To any lover of the game of football, shouting is a regular act. Spectators shout in the stadium to motivate players on the field to action or to appreciate good moves (either dribbling or goals scored). In our relationship with God, shouting does same and even much more. In I Sam.4:4-8, when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth vibrated. “And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the LORD was come into the camp” v6

Israel without any exception shouted when the ark of God entered their camp. Today you are that mobile ark, the tabernacle of Jehovah in whom the Holy Spirit dwells. You are better positioned to shout than the children of Israel did. When you shout unto God, the enemies announce their own downfall: “And the Philistines were afraid, for they said; God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore” v7. Do you know that the enemy has a record of your greatness? The Philistines said, “Woe unto us! Who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness”V8. However, this shout did not save the Israelites because they shouted in sin. Because sin separates us from God, this kind of shout does not work for the Israelites who were in sin. You remember also that while Israel was on her way to Canaan, one of the most fortified cities they needed to conquer was Jericho. Bible history tells us that Jericho was about the most fortified city of the time.

Nevertheless, God instructed Joshua what to do and as Joshua strictly followed the instructions which the leaders and all Israel obeyed, shout played a prominent role in the inevitable collapse of the wall of Jericho. Josh.6:20 says, So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. This was no ordinary shout, but as ordained, instructed and empowered by God. By the leading of that same God that does not change, you are empowered to shout at every wall of Jericho on your way to your Canaan and such walls will collapse.

Prayer/Action.
* Shout out all the enemies of your finances out of your destiny.
* Command the spirit of failure out of your destiny.
* Thou Jericho between me and my Canaan, I shout you down in Jesus' name

Shout of Praise

Text: Isa.12:6
More Lessons: Psa.98:6-9

Some years ago as a student in Kwara State School of Basic Studies. I was facing a particular situation that made me cry for sometimes. Then I decided to go to an open field to shout praises to God for 30 minutes. Friend, that problem did not last for two days before I got the victory. Next time there is no one around to share your problem with, shout praises unto God. I once asked our father Daddy E.A. Adeboye this question, “Why shout halleluyah?” He replied that Satan hates the shout of Halleluyah. Give your enemy what he hates. When you shout praises because negative things are happening around you, Satan is defeated.

One of my excitements in praise is the secret of it that I understand. There are a few things I know about praises and many things it has done in my life. If there is a multipurpose tablet in the Christian world, that tablet is praise. It reverses the enemy's activities. I have not seen anything that is needful for God that praise is not useful for. Praise is useful for all times. Praise is a singular multi-faceted tool that God has given us. The dimension of praise I want to share with you today is SHOUT. The Bible admonished in the Old Testament that the priests be clothed with righteousness and the saints shout for joy. Praise can be manifested in form of shouting. Isa.12: 6: says, “Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel n the midst of thee”. In this scripture, there s a command; shout. Why? Because of joy. Shout is an expression that goes with joy. In his scripture, it is so clear that one of the ways we can express the presence of God in our midst is with a shout. God's appearances in most occasions in the Old Testament were heralded with shout. When God comes into a situation, there is a shout. This means you can do a shout of praise to invite God into a situation.

Why do we have a shout when God is involved in a matter? This is because shout is an expression or a reaction that God is present in a matter and the presence of God brings greatness into a matter. David said: “Shout for the presence of God in your midst is great” This is because something extraordinary has entered into your midst. You can either use shout to invite the presence of God into a matter or to celebrate God in a situation. These are the wo things you can do with shout. As you shout praises to God, the Lord will arise and destroy your enemies in Jesus' name.

Prayer/Action.
* Shout praises and drive the spirit of affliction out of your body.
* Loudly command the spirit of fear out of your destiny.
* Declare a holy coordinated shout against disappointment and barrenness of all kinds.
* Declare that your shout of praise will manifest God in your situation.

There is a King in You II

Text: Luke17:21
More Lessons: I Cor.6:9-11

Time and space will fail us to examine in detail some powerful examples like that donkey that Jesus rode at his memorable triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Matt.21:7-8 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. Jesus was the focus of that celebration but the donkey that bore Jesus on its back couldn't be separated from the honour as they removed their clothing to spread on the floor.

The ordinary donkey galloped with its dirty hoofs on those precious clothes all because it had Jesus on its back. I can bet that donkey will never forget the event! It was the best day of its life and greatest honor any donkey ever had. You may never have had the opportunity to choose your father and mother and siblings before you were born into your earthy blood-line, but you have a yet greater opportunity, and that is to choose your spiritual family. For the spiritual is superior to the physical. There are two spiritual fathers, out there.

They are; God the Father After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name., And of course, Satan their father John8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. But those who choose the devil as their father, are called children of evil because the shame and darkness of the devil overshadows them and becomes their identity!

Those who choose God as their Father carry Christ the King in them and are called the sons of the King of kings. The name, honour and glory of the King is seen upon their lives because they are no ordinary people. Sickness and all manner of evils bow at our feet, because our words are the words of the King who is Lord over life and death; He is the Sovereign saviour! But the choice is yours! I beseech you to choose life in Christ the King. If there is a King with and in you then you are a royalty. Walk and live the royal life in Christ today and forever. There is hope for you! Jesus is Life!

Prayer/Action.
* Appreciate God for making you His child indeed.
* Tell God your Father what you need to fulfill your destiny
* Reject any attempt by Satan to father you.
* Promise God you will not walk away from Him.
* Reject every attraction of Satan to draw you to himself
* Tell Jesus again, I receive you as my Lord and Saviour

There is a King in You I

Text: Col.1:27
More Lessons: Matt.21:1-9

I realized that the office seat of a President is called the President's chair, the car of the Queen of England is called the Queen's car, and the house of the Mayor of any city is the Mayor's house. Though the chair, car and house are made from similar materials like others around the world, yet they are reckoned by a prestigious name and thus, accorded some honour simply because its owners are men and women of honour.

It is thrilling to note that even in the event of selling these properties, their prices escalate incredibly owing to the same reason; the former owners were honorable and respected people so the new buyers pay for both the price of the substance and the worth of the good will of its past and powerful owners. In the same light, the office chair of a sergeant is called a sergeant's chair and the house of a witchdoctor is easily referred to as a witch doctor's house. Possessions take the quality and repute of their possessors.

Life is really all about honour. Show me the people you honour and I'll show you how bright your destiny can be. There is such a thing as blessing by association. That is why you must be careful who you call your friends. They determine to a large extent whether life will be full of blessings or emptiness. Rahab the harlot became one of the great grandmothers of Jesus Christ yet she is still popularly known as the harlot because she was in the click that ran the prostitution show in Jericho. Josh.2:1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there. Why do we still make reference to the man that Jesus healed of blindness by the name of Bartimaeus as blind Bartimaeus?

Mk.10:52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. Is it that we do not believe that Jesus really cleansed him? Of course we believe, but Mr. Bartimaeus long dwelling in blindness makes us to still refer to him as blind Bartimaeus. That is how powerful association and situations are. Now that we carry the Spirit of God in our inside it is our right to be named according to the name of the Lord. We are the sons of the King and we know who we are! Glory to the King of kings forever more!

Prayer/Action.
* Prayerfully reject any negative name you are known with today.
* Ask God to change your location to His glory.
* Pray for grace to live positive marks in your generation and beyond.
* Destroy by fire every evil memorial in the archieves of men that could be following you in life.
Don’t indulge in any act that will give you ungodly description.
