Preventing the Enemy from Planting 1

Text: I Tim.1:18-20
More Lessons: Matt.13:24-30

There are a few ways by which you can fight to prevent the enemy from planting in your life. First, you need to know that you have to live a permanent life of knowledge of what is yours. Beloved, keep remembering what is yours. First among your possessions is Jesus, Jesus is yours and you are His, you have handed your life over to Him. The Holy Spirit, the power that rules the universe is yours. God's promises from Genesis to Revelation are yours. If you don't know what is yours, you won't be able to fight for it. The Bible says we are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus far and above principalities and powers (Eph 1:21) .

Second, now that you know what you have, put it to work. The name of Jesus is yours, put it to work. The power of the Holy Ghost is yours, put it to work. The power of productivity is yours, put it to work. Don't ever watch the enemy's plant grow on your territory. Do what you can, even if your cutlass is blunt, keep on hitting it, one day, that tree will collapse.

Third, don't ever in your life believe there is something impossible. Don't tell anybody anything is impossible. The word impossible is a lie. Don't believe the devil's lie that there is something around your life and destiny that is impossible.

Jesus says, ...Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up Matt.15:13. He didn't say some trees. When you say that some things are impossible what you are saying is that some trees cannot be uprooted. At the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow. What is meant for you will not go to another, in Jesus’ name. Don't fold your hands while your destiny goes twisted. Fast, pray, put your destiny in God's hand. Be regular in church, create time for it because what you don't create time for in God, you will lose to the devil.

Fourth, fight for your inheritance. Never cease to fight. Use every breathe inside you to say no to the devil and his lies. Every breath includes your fasting time, your prayer time, organise vigils for yourself. Jude1:3 says, ...earnestly for the faith.... When your pastor declares fasting and prayer in church, it is about you, not about the pastor. If you don't go for fasting and prayer meeting you are the loser, not the pastor. Earnestly contend for what is yours.

Prayer/Action
.* Identify the strange things that are co-habiting your destiny and command them to be uprooted now.
* Say no to everything called impossibility in your life.
* Destroy everything in you that could make you a fertile land for evil.

Contending for your Fruitfulness

Text: Num.27:1-7
More Lessons: Jude1:3

There is a man in Abuja who when the government came to demolish his house said, I built this house with my pension and it is everything I have at seventy. I invested into this house. This is everything I have worked for all my life. If you want to demolish this, I'm not stopping you but I am inside; demolish me with the house so that after the demolition, I won't be around to feel the pain. The authorities had demolished several big houses but for this man's small house, they negotiated and paid him his money. He was able to salvage some of the building materials. He was better off because he contended for his house.

The reason why the enemy is still planting in your life is because your Christianity lacks the power of contention for ownership. You don't contend for what is yours otherwise why the gradual encroachment into your destiny and you stand as a spectator saying, 'it is well.' In fact, sometimes some believers say, 'May be it is the Lord's will'. But it is not the Lord's will for you as a human being to be swimming in your dream. You need to say concerning that your business, it will not collapse. Whatever it takes, by fasting, by prayer or by hunger. If you have to reduce the food you eat so that you can plunge back the profit into the business, if it will take going back to learn from others, do everything you need to do. That is contending for ownership. I hear testimonies of what is happening to other believers. It is okay for them to accommodate oppression, but it is not okay with me.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints Jude1:3. When it comes to my matter I know who I am; I know what belongs to me. And I will not allow satanic encroachment one inch. Don’t allow the enemy to plant trees in your life so that you will not be looking for how to uproot them. In medicine, prevention is better than cure. Dealing with mosquitoes is cheaper than going to buy anti-malaria drugs.

Like the Zelophehad daughters, take your case before the Judge of all flesh and you will have as much inheritance as you deserve.

Prayer/Action
* My life is a no go area for the devil as from today, in Jesus’ name.
* Oh Lord, hedge my life round about with Your presence, let not the enemy have access to it any longer, in Jesus’ name.
Plead the blood of Jesus 21 times over your entire destiny before noon today.

Dealing with Unfruitful Trees

Text: Matt.15:10-14,
More Lessons: Num.33:52-56

It is very easy to interpret verse 13 of the scripture reading on the surface. But you don't interpret scriptures only on the understanding that you have. You could also look for a little theological explanation of the scripture. For example, the theological application revolves around Jesus teaching about the Pharisees that the doctrines they have been teaching are not acceptable to God and therefore in a very short while, God will put an end to those doctrines, that is primarily what that scripture is talking about.

The application of that scripture is that an ungodly and unscriptural doctrine is not the only thing that Jesus wants to put an end to. He wants to put an end to anything that is not acceptable to God, anything that has no foundation in God has no reason to stand. So, apply this to your life. Those are some of the things we do to understand scriptures. Jesus says, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up Matt.15:13. That tree must be uprooted because it was not planted by the Father. You can apply that to your life, what are the things that are happening in your life that are not from God? If your life belongs to God, whatever happens to it must get the consent and approval of God.

The scripture becomes relevant when applied to your life, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted. . .. Why is it that only the trees that the Father has planted are the ones which must survive? Can't anyone else plant? Must it be the Father alone that plants in your life? Only the Father can plant because the Certificate of Occupancy of the land belongs to the Father as the Bible says, The earth is the Lord's, and the ful lness thereof Psalm24:1. The whole earth belongs to God, which means only God has the final authority to give Certificate of Occupancy over any land, because He created it. If God owns it, the devil cannot use it.

Have faith in God, start your day confident that the God that rules the universe is working for you. That is how to make sure that every tree that the Lord has not planted is uprooted. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith Mk.11:22-23.

Prayer/Action
* Ask the Lord to empower you over every tree not planted by Him in your life.
* Use the name, the blood and the Spirit of God in you to uproot every demonic planting in your life.
* Declare that your life will no longer be a fertile ground for satanic seeds, in Jesus’ name.

How to Get Revelation from God’s Word

Text: 2Tim2:15
More Lessons: Psa.119:18

If you desire to find revelation from God's Word, whether as a preacher or a believer, one of the things you must learn to do is to ask several questions about the scriptures you read. There are two ways to read the Bible; you can read it like a piece of literature and secondly read it line by line, precept by precept and ask questions about what you read. This way you will be reading the Bible as a divine Word of God.

You can read the Bible as a literary text the same way you do when you have the Bible on tape playing. Sometimes, as you are listening to that Bible on tape, you could have the Spirit of God click on one verse. You can stop, note that verse down for an in-depth study later. But primarily there is a place for just listening to the Bible running. There is a place for just reading the Scripture, just running over it. You could take a book, for example, the book of Matthew. Let me tell you that here is no book in the Bible that is difficult to read when you do it that way.

You can take Matthew, for example, and without a need to make marks, to pencil anything, to underline, just read it. You just sit down today and in a few hours, you can finish the book of Matthew. When you finish doing that, you can come back and start noting the parts that struck you. After all these you can now do what we call 'thorough study'.

In order to have a good understanding of such scriptures, sit down and look at the scriptures, take a pen, a notebook, and then read the portion that hit your spirit all over and ask yourself several questions like: 'who was speaking here?' 'Who was he speaking to?' 'What actually could be happening?' Create a scenario in your mind about what could be happening when the matter was spoken. Imagine what the portion in question looked like the day it happened. Thereafter, get some study aids and in addition pray over what you read. As you do so keep your spirit connected to God for the revelation knowledge of His word as such affect your life and relationship or fellowship with Him. In all these, remember that God values an intimate communion with you by the instrumentality of His Word through your deep study, mediation and prayers.

Prayer/Action
Ask God for indepth understanding of His Word by His Spirit.
* Ask God to help you create time for reading and studying His Word
* Rebuke every wandering thought and lack of concentration while reading the Word.
* Ask God for special ability to understand and interpret His Word
