Become 'Restless'

Tuesday 3 March
READ: Gen 27: 30-40
MORE LESSON: Matt.11:12, Lk.16:16

Most people know the story of the two sons of Isaac; Jacob and Esau. Jacob cunningly took the blessing of the covenant from their father Isaac ahead of Esau who was the first born biologically. Jacob got the blessing (Gen 27: 39 – 40), when Esau came, he sought it with tears (Heb 12: 16 – 17) and pleaded with the father to give him at least one blessing. Finally Isaac released a blessing on Esau which still looked like a curse: By your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother; and it shall come to pass, when you become restless, that you shall break his yoke from your neck. Gen 27:39-40 (NKJV) Even though these statements seem to be curses, the good thing in these statements is that there was a window of escape left for Esau from the slavery sentence given to him. He was not to be a servant to his brother forever because the father gave him a condition of breaking the yoke of slavery. He said when you become restless… This means that the solution to his problem will come when he became restless with the problem.

Becoming restless means becoming no longer at ease with your situation. It is good to become restless with your present predicament and do everything godly you can for the required change. 'Becoming restless' doesn't include doing ungodly things but it describes a kind of spiritual desperation that makes you ready to take all the necessary actions and sacrifices to change your situation. A man, that is spiritually attacked and is being begged before he comes to church to pray, has not become restless. When he becomes restless, he will take a marathon fast, add a vigil and cry to God to see to it that the problem stops. It is anti-covenant to become complacent and at ease with a position of slavery, oppression, poverty or sickness.

Let godly desperation get hold of you as you demand that the situation must change no matter what it will take. This restlessness was the window of escape left opened to Esau to be free from slavery to his brother A jobless graduate with an air conditioner fanning him in his bedroom has not become restless. When he becomes restless, he will go and sell the AC and invest the money even if it is in selling pure water or he will not mind the certificate but open a barber's shop and watch increase and prosperity start in his life. A poor man without a job living in a 3-bedroom flat and begging for food has not become restless with begging and poverty. When he is restless and tired of begging, he will rent out 2 rooms, stay in one and use the proceeds to start a small business.

God wants you to be free from whatever has kept you under a yoke, but He wants to see you take desperate steps that show you are tired of the status quo.

Prayer/Action
* Say, “Lord, today, I break the yoke that limits me to smallness and shame”.
* Say, “Father help me to give up my comfort for my greatness”.
* Tell the Lord to grant you all the wisdom, strength, divine guidance that it takes to win over life failure.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
This month, I shall triumph over every evil and make great progress, in Jesus’ mighty name.

God is Working it for You

Monday 2 March
READ: Est 1:3 - 22
MORE LESSON: Rom.8: 28

God wanted to elevate Esther and He began to orchestrate things in her favour. The first thing was that He made Vashti, the Queen of Ahasuerus, to make a mistake. The king organized a feast and asked her to come and display her beauty in the presence of his dignitaries. It was not supposed to be a difficult thing but a way of relaxation with her husband, in any case it was her husband's call and at least for that reason alone she would have done it to honour him. But she refused even though everybody tried to persuade her. Her mistake was to Esther's advantage. For had it not been that she refused and was consequently sacked, Esther would not have become queen. (Est. 1:10-15)

When God wanted to elevate Mordecai from gate man to the throne, He arranged some people to plan coup for the king and made Mordecai to discover it and save the life of the king. God ordered his steps. It was very possible that Mordecai would not have been at the point where the coup against the king was being plotted and there wouldn't have been an occasion for him to reveal such secret which eventually led to him being considered for honour (Est. 2:21-23). Your steps will be ordered by the Lord this year, in Jesus’ name.

Also while Mordecai was sleeping, God was working things out for him: God took away the sleep of the king. They tried all they could to induce this king to sleep but sleep would not come. Do you know why? It was because somebody was ordained to be glorified by God. So when the king could not sleep, he decided to start reading the records to keep himself busy. This was when he came across the case where Mordecai saved his life from the plotters and he asked what had been done to reward Mordecai. In all these, Mordecai was just somewhere, probably silently praying and serving God while God was working out his blessing and promotion.

I want you to know that God is already working all things together for you. Do not fret, do not expire your strength running from pillar to post in a bid to lobby that promotion and lifting for yourself. Just stay with God in the place of prayer service and faithfulness and I see God working all things together for your good today.

Prayer/Action
* Prophesy that all the kings that carry in their hands your blessing will lose their comfort until they release it to you today.
* Declare that your enemies will make mistake to your advantage today.
* Speak to all the negativities around you to begin to work for your good.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, thank You because by the force of the Trinity nothing shall be impossible for me this third month.

Everyday- A New You

Sunday 1 March
READ: Lam. 3:22- 23
MORE LESSON: Rev. 21:5

God makes things new every morning. This means you are not the same as you went to bed yesterday; you are new this morning. The song writer says, . . . they are new every morning, great is thy faithfulness, O Lord. Every new morning the faithfulness of God makes you newer than you were when you slept the night before.

I want you to always think newness: it is a bad mindset to think that things must always get old before you buy new ones. It is not correct to think you must always buy old and used items. You must change the way you think, for as a man thinks in His heart, so is he. Stop thinking old things, or else that is what you will always get; rather, think in terms of new things. This counsel is not to put pressure on you if you can't afford the new things yet but it is to make you believe that what you are now is not all you can ever be. There is more to you than this because God is committed to making all things new for you on a daily basis.

The secret for a new you every day is that you must receive a Word from the Lord on a daily basis. Those words have the capacity for renewing you. Eze 12:8 says, And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying…. That is the secret of being made new every day. See also what Isa. 50: 4 says, The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: HE WAKENETH MORNING BY MORNING, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. If you can only hear what the Lord says to you every day, you will never stop having the experience of a new you everyday of your life. The Word of God is always released in the morning seasons, so anticipate it every day you wake up. Psa. 119:147 (ASV) says, I anticipated the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in thy words.

Don't ever wake up in the morning and go out without a word from the Lord. This is the spiritual principle that ensures everyday newness. The more of the word from the Lord you receive, the more like Him you become and the newer and better you are made.

When you get your daily Word from God, you have to lay hold on it and act on it. If it is a promise, confess it and if it is an instruction, obey it. That way, you will bring God into your day without struggle because you are already in partnership with Him. Give attention to daily devotion, whether on your personal altar or family altar. Expect new things today, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Declare that every trouble of your life will end with this day.
* Prophesy that you will not carry pain from day to day.
* Prophesy that your day will respect God’s law of daily newness.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
My Father, the Ancient of days and giver of life, thank You for the gift of March 2015, the third month; it shall not be barren of good things

Do Whatever He Tells You

Saturday 28 February
READ: John 2:1-11
MORE LESSON: John 9:1-7

Every man that wants to contact God needs to trust Him and obey every instruction that God gives. Checking through Scripture, you will notice there is hardly any miracle that Jesus did for any man without a particular instruction to be obeyed. Those who obeyed the instruction had a testimony and those who didn't obey lost the miracles. Sometimes the things He tells us to do are not things that we would consider enjoyable but obedience to prophetic instructions is what guarantees miraculous manifestations. Anybody who wants to enjoy the blessings of the Lord must be ready to obey His instructions.

Jesus attended a marriage in Cana of Galilee with His disciples, and His mother was also there. When the celebrants needed a miracle because their wine had finished, the mother of Jesus approached Him and Jesus told her to leave Him alone because His time was not yet come. But thank God for Mary; she didn't argue but she also determined that it was not the end of the matter. Many people miss their miracles because they take the answer 'no' too soon. Mary knew Jesus very well; you will only be able to get a miracle from God to the extent to which you know Him. She knew Jesus would not refuse someone who comes to Him for help and she also knew that Jesus would give them the miracle by giving an instruction. Therefore, she said to the people, 'Don't worry about what He said; He will do something soon, and whatever He tells you, do it.’

The instruction Jesus gave them was not the type they would have expected; He told them to fill the pots with water. That would have been rejected as foolish instruction by some people; saying, ‘We need wine not water.' But by obedience to that simple instruction they were able to get what they needed. You might be in need today because what you have is insufficient and you refused to obey God when He told you to give the little you had. All I want to say to you today is that whatever He tells you to do, do it; and your miracle is sure.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to speak His Word into your situation.
* Pray that you will always be sensitive to God’s instruction.
Take a promise of God to you and instruct your challenge with it.
Give God thanks over the instruction because it cannot fail.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, thank You for making me see January and February, Oh Lord as You live, I shall live to see beyond this year.
