I Give you Power

Wednesday 9 November
READ: Luke 10:1-3, 17-19
MORE LESSON: Matt 28: 18 - 20

Kenneth E. Hagin (Snr) of blessed memory, one of the patriachs of the Christian faith, in one of His books, gave a testimony that he had a revelation of Jesus standing in front of him and they were chatting and discussing. Suddenly, a short, dark demon stood between him and Jesus and started making noise and creating pandemonium. He said that he stood there wondering why Jesus was allowing it to happen. 'Is it possible that Jesus was standing with me and a demon come in between us, creating disturbance?' He wondered. Kenneth Hagin stood there, waiting and hoping that Jesus would do something about the situation but Jesus did nothing. When he waited and nothing happened, he got angry and commanded the demon: ‘Go in the name of Jesus!’ And the demon disappeared. When the demon left, he asked Jesus, ‘Why didn't you deal with that demon standing before You?' Jesus replied that if he (Kenneth) had not done anything about the demon, that would have been the end of their discussion because He couldn't do anything about it. Jesus explained that all power in Heaven and on earth has been given to Him but He has given it to His children.
Jesus didn't go to Heaven with the victory He had over satan, He left it for you, Jesus says. It is not Jesus' responsibility to deal with the demon disturbing you; He has delegated that power to you. Even though the power belongs to Him, the power is no longer with Him; He has given it to you. As far as casting out demons, dealing with satan and situations is concerned, Jesus has given you the power. It is your responsibility to do it.
When Jesus won the victory over all the power of the enemy and was about to go to Heaven, He said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: Matt 28:18-19. He said that all power has been given to Him, but He immediately passed the power to you and asked you to go in this His might. He didn't say all power has been given to him so he will go into all nations. He said you are to go in His name and He is with you, so whatever cannot confront Jesus cannot confront you. Whatever cannot humiliate Jesus must not humiliate you. If they cannot put Jesus down, they must not put you down.
Take this Jesus-given authority over situations and satan and deal with satan; don't wait for anyone to do it for you. Jesus has given you the power to do it, so dont wait for Him to come and cast out that demonic harrassment; use the power He has given you to His glory. The apostles immediately took the challenge and today, we are the beneficiaries (Mk. 16:20).

Prayer/Action
* Command every agent of satan harassing your life to get lost, in Jesus’ name.
* Take authority over situations and satan that keep a man in bondage; command their chains to break and declare your liberty.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Everywhere they have run me down, this month, like Jephthah, I shall go back to reign, in the name of Jesus.

Treasure in the House

Tuesday 8 November
READ: Pro. 21:20
MORE LESSONS: Prov. Matt. 25:1-13

Wisdom is one subject the writer of the book of Proverbs devoted much of his writing to, he also wrote on issues that deal with day-to-day affairs which, if learnt, can go a great deal in making a man wiser and to stand out. Some of those things which should characterise the life of a believer include integrity, righteousness, wisdom and the fear of God.
Our text focuses on the things which should characterise the life of a wise man, which include treasure and oil, There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up: Prov. 21:20. Every wise man has a treasure to be desired, either a quality, ability, resource, grace, etc. In Jeremiah 41:8, ten men were spared because they had resources and oil in the field when others were slayed. It is therefore wisdom to always have a treasure to be desired in your life; it will make you ever relevant and needed.
The wisdom to learn from out text includes these:
1. Don't spend up the treasure in your life before you seek to refill (Matt. 25:3-9). One of the things that distinguishes the wise and foolish virgins is that the foolish virgins used up their oil before they seek to refill. Even if there are demands on the treasure and oil in your life, don't spend it up. Be wise.
2. When you have no more treasure and oil that men can desire, they will call you foolish, therefore give attention to your life. Don't be lost in the praise of men when your talents or abilities are at the peak. It is then you need to seek to improve yourself, that is the time to do something new and better.
3. Learn to take a break to create room for reviewing and refilling. The foolish virgins are not sensitive to know the time to refill their lamps. There should be an interval to refill and re-stock. Only God should not wait, there is nothing that cannot wait to give room for you to renew and refill your treasure and oil. Even if it seems there is no time for that, it is wisdom to create the time.
Someone once said that grace is a depleting asset, it reduces with use. It is wisdom to always seek to have it renewed so that the house will be filled with treasure.

Prayer/Action
* The oil of God upon my life shall not run dry, in Jesus' name.
* Lord, endow me with wisdom to always have treasure to be desired in my life.

The Proven God

Monday 7 November
READ: Psa. 44: 1 – 4
MORE LESSON: 1 Sam. 5: 1 - 12

Our text today captures David's testimony of God. He testifies of how he heard from his fathers and the men of old all the exploits that God had done in ancient times. Compared to contemporary times, David is an ancient man, having lived around 4000 years ago. Howbeit, ancient David still testifies of how he has heard from ancient men about the consistency of God's power. This shows that God has a proven record that spans from ancient to ancient times. If a sportsman can win a trophy consistently back to back for a decade, I believe there should be no doubt as to the fact that he/she is the best. God has delivered results from the foundation of the earth and has never failed. The consistency of God's track record spans generations; there is no tenable reason for any man to doubt Him.
God is not just all time tested but also all location tested. A sportsman may be playing well in front of his home fans and he is spurred to victory, thereby able to win all the games. But when he plays away from home in rival territory where he is booed, he might lose all the matches. So a man is not fully tested until he is tested both at home and away from home. If a man can prove his power both at home and in a faraway country, then he is truly powerful. The God of your help is tested and proven both at home and away from home and He is found consistent. In Isa.66: 19, God says, and I will set a sign among them . . . to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles. Jehovah the God of Israel is not a God that has glory just at home; His fame and glory spread even among the gentiles – the other nations of the world.
All other gods have borders, but the Almighty is without borders. I had a teacher in secondary school who had great respect for cows: she didn't eat cow meat. When I investigated, I found that the cow is the symbol of the god of her homeland. But here we were, slapping cows, killing and eating them. So her cow-god was god only within the borders of her home-country. This brings to mind the story of the Ark of God when it was seized by the Philistines. They put it in the temple of their god, Dagon. In a matter of two days, their god laid prostrate on the floor before the Ark of God, with its arms and head broken off. God crossed the borders of Israel into the land of Philistia and beat Dagon, not only hands-down, but head-off. Jehovah is God in Israel and in every nation. You have a time-tested, borderless and proven God; exercise full faith in Him.

Prayer/Action
* Father, grant me great achievement today than what my strength or wisdom could ever give me, in Jesus’ name.
* Father, from the North, South, West and East, let help arise for me today, let my help not be limited by border, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
This month the mountains of my life shall begin to drop new wine and the hills will flow with milk, and goodness, in the name of Jesus.

Speak into the Atmosphere

Sunday 6 November
READ: Mark 4:35-39
MORE LESSON: Eze. 29:1-3

In today's reading, it had already been concluded by Jesus that He and His disciples were going over to the other side but the enemy said it would not be. So also it is for every one born with a great destiny; your other side is that greatness, that promotion, that impactful ministerial calling, that relevant business that the enemy will always say no to. The devil sent a storm to hinder them from crossing over to the other side; the boat got filled with water though Jesus was there with the disciples. Jesus was with them but nothing was done until the disciples spoke. The major lesson of life here is that keeping quiet when you should speak endangers your life. It leads to defeat and makes you a casualty in the battles of life.
The disciples probably assumed that because Jesus was there with them, storms would not come. This can be a costly assumption. Having Kingdom power and authority does not mean challenges will not come; rather, they will come to try that power. You have to unlock the power by speaking. Do not assume but act, speak, For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith: Mark 11:23. Jesus Himself spoke this profound truth in this verse of the Scripture and it cannot be broken; so you have to speak into the atmosphere even in the face of contradictions. Desires without prayers and speaking them out are wishful thinking. Speak in the days of trouble and God will hear you and give you answer. The only major condition is that you must speak without doubt or unbelief in your heart. Believe that what God says He will, He will do and He can do what He says. Doubt your doubts and believe God to the end.
What do you speak?
I) Speak what God says: situations must respond to what God says. Find out what God says about your situation and speak that out.
ii) Make a decree (Job 22:28). A decree is an authoritative word backed by law. Tell satan his boundary in your life; let him know what he must not do.
iii) Speak a command (Isa.45:11). A command is backed up by the authority of a superior; God is the most superior.
Whatever you refuse to say ‘No’ to will become normal in your life. Disapproval is expressed by speaking. Rise up now and refute all satanic troubles your boat is filled with and there will be a great calm. Speak now!

Prayer/Action
* Every contrary word that has risen up against me, I command you to cease and I declare peace, in Jesus’ name.
* I prophesy to the womb of this new day, bring forth for me victory, success, progress, joy, increase and help, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, thank You for making JAWOM 2016 Convention a fulfilment, every partaker shall walk in the fulfilment permanently, in Jesus' name.
