When a Leader Sins I

Tuesday 5 June
READ: I Samuel 28:1- 20
MORE LESSON: I Timothy 2:1-4

Somebody once said that, the leader's sin, is a leading sin. Saul disobeyed God and the entire nation of Israel suffered t h e consequences. God sent Saul to completely destroy the Amalekites but he sparred the best of the animals and Agag the king,
And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed. Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the Lord, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD? 1 Sam 15:18-19.
And the Spirit of the Lord departed not just from Saul but also from the land of Israel. This was evident in the fact that they were defeated when they went to war against the Philistines (1 Sam. 28:19). A leader must be very careful because the consequences of his sins do not just affect him alone but also on the people he is leading, and sometimes the consequences are even trans-generational.
When a leader sins, he should quickly ask God for pardon rather than try to justify his action. When Samuel the prophet rebuked Saul for not obeying the Lord, rather than confessing and seeking for pardon, Saul tried to justify himself and even shifted the blame to the people. And Saul said unto Samuel,
Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal: I Sam. 15:20-21.
The leader cannot blame the people for causing him to sin because he is the one that has the instruction of God. His subjects are meant to follow him.
So as leaders, we must resist the urge to shift blame to our subordinates when things go wrong. The sign of good leadership is to accept wrong when it happens; after all, no leader is born an angel. This way we become examples of righteousness; David was a wonderful example in this. When confronted by the prophet about his wrong doing with Beersheba, he declared, ‘I have sinned’. Then the prophet declared, ...The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die: 2 Sam. 12:13. Followers however should not take pleasure in seeking the fault of their leaders or accusing them. We owe God prayers and support for our leaders at all times.

Prayer/Action
* Pray that as our leaders lead the people they shall not fall into sin.
* Pray that the power of God will keep and preserve every leader in God’s will.
* Pray that no pressure or trail will overcome their faith.

TODAY’S PROPHETIC PRAYER: By fire, I break every chain of limitation and average life off my destiny this month, in the name of Jesus.

One Way

Monday 4 June
READ: John 14:1-6
MORE LESSON: John 10:7-10

In order to receive anything from God, there is only one way through which we can ask and receive, that way is Jesus. Jesus is the gateway to all the provisions in Heaven, where no one steals. So the only way that things go out of the City is by the door and Jesus declared, ...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me: Jn. 14:6 Anything you ask the Father through any other door apart from the Lord Jesus Christ and His name, you can't get it. With Jesus on your inside, your change, provision, breakthrough, answer, deliverance are guaranteed if only you can come through the Lord Jesus.
A man who does not have Jesus on his inside has no guarantee for life or success. The only way a man can have results is by accepting Jesus as the Lord and Saviour of his life. He becomes your advocate and intercessor before God and stands in the gap for you. He pleads on your behalf by the power of the Holy Spirit and He brings answers to you. I want to introduce Him to you because all that you desire on the earth are at your fingertips if only you will accept Him. That settles it. If you would go through the Lord Jesus Christ by acknowledging that you are a sinner, confessing your sins, forsaking them and asking Jesus for help, I guarantee all things are possible through Him who died for us.
A man that despises the name of Jesus despises the greatest miracle of his life, he despises ever getting answer from Heaven. A man that underestimates Jesus underestimates the greatest miracle of his life. But a man that says ‘yes’ to Heaven, confesses and forsakes his sin and goes to the Father through the Son in the name of
Jesus can be sure that answer will come. If it has not come, wait for it. There is answer, it is guaranteed, it is through the name of Jesus Christ.
With Jesus on board there is no need to fear anything. There is no where He enters that things will not change. Jesus entered the home of Lazarus and his sisters, Martha and Mary, after Lazarus had died and He met them weeping. But by the time Jesus left them they were in great jubilation, that's what His person can do. He changes negative to positive situations. His Word brings positive change. There is no need to be deceived by anyone; Jesus is the only route by which all provisions flow from Heaven to the earth. He is the only guarantee of all provisions. Find Jesus today, accept Him as your Lord and personal Saviour by acknowledging, confessing and forsaking your sins and you will command Heaven's attention when you call.

Prayer/Action
* Thank God for the way the Father was made known to you through Jesus Christ.
* Give God thanks because everything you have asked God through Jesus will come.
* Pray that through you someone will find the way today.

TODAY’S PROPHETIC PRAYER: Mountains are moving this month into the sea, never to rise again, in the name of Jesus.

Prevailing over Pressure

Sunday 3 June
READ: Matthew 6:25-34
MORE LESSON: Isaiah 26:1-4

Man is naturally worried about many things and this puts him under pressure. There is pressure of what to eat, drink, wear, influence, and all manner of things. These pressures have the potential to make a man constantly remain in the state of worry as opposed to God's plan. In order to prevail over pressure, we will first understand what worry is and how to prevail over it.
Worry is preoccupation with things that may never happen. It has been discovered that 87% of things that people worry about never happen eventually, yet you could have killed yourself with worry. That's why Jesus said take no thought what you will wear, what you will eat, what you will drink, which are the major things that people worry about. It is a rehearsal for the future. When you sit and think, “I will get sick, I will be taken to the hospital….” That's a rehearsal for the future and it kills men. That rehearsal is what will kill you, not the trouble. Worry is the pain of the things you cannot change, and yet those things have not come. It is the pain of what has not happened. Worry is the fear of the unknown. When a man is worried he is afraid of something that has not come; he isn't afraid of what is there right now, he is afraid of what an issue may eventually become.
I have been told that one of the things that kills HIV/AIDS patients is not the virus but the fear and pressure. There is a God in Heaven who heals both wounds and bruises. Isa. 53:5 says …he was wounded… this talks about external pressures, the wound is outside. Then it says ...he was bruised… those are internal pains. If Jesus was both wounded and bruised, one outside and the other inside, it means that His life, death and blood has the solution for both external and internal ailments. So why worry?
I have found that happiness is a choice. You can be hungry and happy. It's a choice. And you have to make that choice yourself. You could be in pain and be positive. If you choose to be happy in pain, all you need to do is keep looking at the other side of your trouble. Someone can be in the same problem as yourself and look old suddenly because age is a matter of the mind. You can be old at 60 or at 20 depending on how you keep your mind free from worry and burden. When people feel bad and you say “Praise the Lord”, people will ask, “What is wrong with you?” Nothing is wrong, you are just prevailing over pressure from worry. You must learn to live above worry if you want to live long. Trust in the Lord, believe and saturate your mind with the Word, not the news. Only the Word of God keeps the mind stable.

Prayer/Action
* Declare that you are delivered from the fear of the unknown.
* Declare you are exempted from the evil of the day.
* Declare your position is joy, health, peace and celebration.

TODAY’S PROPHETIC PRAYER: This sixth month, he that digs a pit for me shall fall into it and he that rolls a stone, upon him shall it fall, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Don't be Ignorant

Saturday 2 June
READ: I Corinthians 12:1
MORE LESSON: Galatians 4:1-9

I heard the story of a woman who was travelling. She boarded an aircraft with her ticket. She took biscuits along, thinking she might need to eat on the journey. While on transit, the passengers were served food but the woman declined the offer. This repeated about two times and someone sitting beside her asked, “Madam, why are you not eating, aren't you hungry?” And the woman replied that she had no money. The man looked in surprise and asked if she had a flight ticket and she showed him her ticket. The man kindly explained to her that the ticket was a proof that she had paid for everything, including the food that was being served. She didn't need to pay extra to eat. At this point, they were almost at their destination, though she had a chance of eating once before the plane landed. May this not be your story when you meet Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
Many people are ignorant of things that legitimately belong to them by the reason of what Jesus has done. You have been bought with a price. Everything you will ever need has been fully paid for. There are other things that the Bible warns us not to be ignorant about. This is because ignorance is much more expensive than paying the price to gain knowledge. Speaking about knowledge the Bible says, Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding: Prov. 23:23. This means that both knowledge and ignorance come at a price but the price for ignorance is much more. It is always easier to pay the price to acquire knowledge than be left with the consequences of ignorance. Some of the things the Church cannot afford to be ignorant about are:
1. Spiritual gifts (I Cor. 12:1, 8-10): In order to run the Christian race successfully, God sent us the Holy Spirit and He works through us by giving us gifts that help us to be more effective in delivering our services. Some of these gifts are the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, healing, the working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers kinds of tongues, the interpretation of tongues.
2. God's righteousness (Rom. 10:1-3): This is obtained by faith and not by works. Man does not become righteous before God by trying to please God with good deeds but by believing in Jesus Christ. This is why morality does not save any man.
3. Tribulations that one faces as one does the work of the Kingdom (II Cor. 1:8).
4. The devices of the devil (II Cor. 2:11).
5. Life after death (I Thess. 4:13-18).

Prayer/Action
* Receive grace not to allow ignorance to deny you of anything good in destiny.
* Ask God to grant you the full manifestation of the gifts and fruit of the Spirit.
* Ask God for a fresh knowledge of His Word.

TODAY’S PROPHETIC PRAYER: Father, You, who remembered Hannah at a hopeless point, remember me this sixth month, in the name of Jesus.
