SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY: Psalm 90:14-17
14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. 15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. 16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. 17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
MORE LESSON: Matthew 18:23-35
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. 24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. 25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. 28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. 29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. 31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. 32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: 33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? 34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. 35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Memory Verse: O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Psalm 90:14
TODAY’S FASTING FOCUS: The former and latter rains; Joel 2:23-27
We live in a time when it is essential to pray for mercy (Psalm 90:14-17) continually. We naturally plead for mercy when we consider an evil person close by. However, mercy should not just be a plea in time of trouble, but a plea for all times. In Psalm 23, by prophetic proclamation, David specifically requested, "goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life" (v. 6). Even if David had challenges, it wasn't all the days of his life, yet he asked that mercy be constant. Mercy is a request for all the days of a man's life. When one is satisfied with mercy early in life, the implication is that there is rejoicing all the days of their life. Therefore, mercy is not for when there is trouble or affliction, but for all the days of our lives. The earlier we have mercy, the longer we will rejoice. It is mercy that keeps us standing.
There are different degrees of mercy: that you're alive to see a new day, that you can sit, walk around, eat, and ease yourself without assistance are all products of God's mercy. Some people die while watching football. However, a man who enjoys the mercy of God may have an accident and come out unhurt. Some people have mercy, but they're not satisfied with it. An example of mercy that satisfies us is Psalm 51. A person is said to be satisfied with mercy when God heals their wounds without leaving a scar. When you are thirsty and given a cup of water, and you drink it, and you drink another cup, if you still have capacity for more, you are not yet satisfied. Satisfying mercy is when you have unexplainable mercy. May God satisfy you early with mercy, in Jesus' name. O, satisfy us early with thy mercy; we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Psalm 90:14.
Man to man can have mercy, but the mercy of God is incomparable. It was God's mercy that rescued Peter when he fell flat before a small girl during Jesus' trial (Luke 22). Saul, a murderer, enjoyed mercy on a scale unparalleled by any man previously when he became an apostle. But for mercy, how could Thomas have doubted Jesus and still be an apostle? King David had so much blood on his hands that God could not allow him to build a house for Him, yet he was a man after God's heart. Paul said, “I obtain mercy”. Today, obtain mercy.
