Have a Great Day

Saturday 11 June
READ: Psa 90: 12
MORE LESSON: Mark 1: 35

Men commonly greet one another saying, “Have a great day”. It is therefore expedient to know what a great day is and how to have it so that you will be able to know at the end of the day if it was a great day. Psa. 90:12 says So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. The following points should be noted in evaluating your day so that you know whether you are making maximum use of it or not.
1. A great day begins with God: In order to have a good and resourceful day, you have to start your day with God. No man should leave his house without praying and committing the day to God. Do not go out into the day without hearing a word from God that you are holding onto for the day. This is where reading the Word of God comes in. You have to cultivate the habit of waking up early to have time to pray, pray with your family and invite God into the day.
2. A great day answers to planning and purpose: You should never leave your house to start the day without a purpose defined for the day. What are the things you want to achieve in the day? Which places do you intend to go? Giving attention to all these is very important because that determines whether the day will be great or not. Time is the only commodity that is equal in everybody's possession. It is the same number of hours that is in every man's day. It is how it is organised, managed and deployed that differentiates the wise from the foolish, the rich from the poor and the successful from the unsuccessful. You must set out with a plan and purpose for the day and then pursue such.
3. Avoid distractions: It is easy to get distracted in your day and decide to just spend a few seconds on something that doesn't contribute to the plan and purpose you drew up for the day. However, you have to remember that it is the seconds that make up minutes which turn into hours, days, weeks, months, and then years. It is the accumulation of the years that is called a lifetime. When you allow seconds to be messed up in irrelevancies, you are messing up your life.
4. Appraise and evaluate the day: When you return at night, take a record and judge how you spent the day so that you will know where to do better the next day. Know that if you refuse to take records and evaluate how you spend the day, Heaven is taking records. One day you will explain all you did with the days.
Have a great day and from today start having great days.

Prayer/Action
* Pray against the forces of distraction today, in Jesus’ name.
* Declare for yourself; I begin today in the name of the Lord, I shall end in the name of the Lord, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
God of my fathers, send your rain to every dry season of my destiny this month, in the name of Jesus.

Ashamed in Death

Friday 10 June
READ: Phil 1: 20 - 21
MORE LESSON: 2 Pet. 3:10-14

The way you see some people invest all their resources on this mortal body, you would think that it is all there is to life. There are people who spend so much on beautification, and wear expensive ornaments and extravagant clothes just for their bodies to look good but count it a burden to give a little to God or spend to buy for their personal spiritual growth. Let me remind you today that this mortal body is not designed to live forever. It will be given to dust and rot; it is your spirit that will remain to reap the consequence or benefit of whatever you do in this body. In the Old Testament, people lived for hundreds of years but today life expectancy is reducing more and more. If there is a time that men should be conscious of eternity and giving priority to their spirit, it is now.
Apostle Paul prayed a prayer in Phil 1:20 that all men should pray, According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. He prayed that he will never be ashamed whether in life or in death and that Christ will be glorified in him whether in life or in death. This implies that some people will be ashamed in death. It cannot be over-emphasised that death is not the end, it is only the door that opens a man into eternity. A man thinks that death is the end and he commits suicide because he feels that life is unbearable but then he opens his eyes on the other side and he realises that he is not ready for eternity, that is being ashamed in death. Another man says there is no Heaven and no hell, in fact he concocts so many scriptures to support his claims, but then in death he opens his eyes on the other side and finds himself in hell, realising that all he spent his life believing were lies. What a shame! A man says Jesus is not the Son of God and He is not the only way but then he dies and realises that the same Jesus He refused is the Judge he will face. He will be so ashamed that he cannot look at the light of His countenance but will have to abide in outer darkness. I pray you will not be ashamed in death.
This is why preaching the gospel to all men is a crucial mandate on all of God's children. You have to warn people so that they will not face eternal disgrace when they die. God has created a way of escape, Jesus said, ...I am the way the truth and the life no man cometh to the Father except through me: Jn.14:6. It is only through Him that a man will not be ashamed in death.
Everyone who has this understanding will escape from the impending danger by inviting Jesus into his life now! All who have already done this owe God the debt of spreading the news! Advertise Jesus.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to help you to be conscious of eternity.
* Ask God to renew your love and commitment to Him.
* Promise God that you will never turn your love away from Him but help to tell someone else about Jesus from today.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, wherever my goodness is hiding, I command it to locate me today, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Anointed with Power

Thursday 9 June
READ: Acts 10:34- 40
MORE LESSON: Psa. 45:6 - 7

The secret of the great works in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ is the power of God that was operating through Him. Everything in life responds to the higher power. When you see a man trying to do something and it seems impossible, it is the power to do that thing that is lacking. When you are anointed with power, all that has been resisting you begins to respond to you. Rom 13:2 says, Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. Power is irresistible, when you are anointed with power, things respond and nothing resists.
Power is not limited to physical force but includes the influence upon your life that gives you the ability to do what others cannot do. In Luke 5:17, we see how Jesus was in the temple preaching and teaching, and the power of God was present to heal. Another person could have preached and nothing happened but Jesus preached and healings were happening. This was as a result of the power of God upon Him in accordance with Acts 10:38, How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
God actually anointed Jesus with the power He needed to do all that He did and God can do the same for you. All power belongs to God (Psa. 62:11). When He wants to make you deliver results in any sphere of life, He puts His ability in you and thereby equips you to perform in that area. It is God's ability put on you that is termed 'anointing you with power'. Your desire and prayer should be that God will anoint you with the power to perform whatever you need to do. Some people claim that there is no need to pray for God to anoint you, you should just pray to be holy and make Heaven. But I want you to know that it is not wrong to ask God to anoint you with power so that you can fulfil your purpose here on earth. If Jesus was anointed with power to fulfil His purpose on earth, then you also need to be.
Righteousness is a requirement for God's anointing to rest on you, You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions: Psa. 45:7 (NKJV). You must also love God and love people so that the power God anoints you with will be used to meet people's need and not for selfish ends. I pray for you that the Lord will anoint you with His power, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to anoint you afresh with His power.
* Renounce every work of unrighteousness that can hinder the move of God’s power on you.
* Promise the Lord that the power you receive from Him will further His Kingdom on earth.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Today, I lift my hands to the God of Heaven and declare that June shall not be empty of good things for me, in the name of Jesus.

Against Spiritual Death

Wednesday 8 June
READ: 1 John 5: 11 - 12
MORE LESSON: Heb.10:31

Death is not the end of life. It is merely a separation. Physical death is when a man is separated from his body. When a child of God is separated from the body then he becomes united with the Lord and he will be with Him forever more. Paul understood this when he said, I am willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord: 2 Cor 5:8. Physical death is gain for a child of God; it is an opportunity for such a man to be with his Lord and reign with Him. It is only for a man who is not saved that physical death becomes a loss.
Spiritual death is separation from the Eternal Life which is in Jesus Christ. Anyone who doesn't have Jesus Christ in him is spiritually dead. Jesus is Life and he who has Jesus has life. He who doesn't have Jesus is spiritually dead even if he is physically alive. A person who is not connected with Jesus is spiritually dead. 1 John 5:11-12 has this record, God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. This means there are many people who are dead but are walking around; these are the people who have not given their lives to Jesus Christ.
When a man who has eternal life through Jesus Christ dies physically, he continues to live with Jesus in Heaven. Such a man doesn't die, physical death is just a visa for him to go home in victory. However, when a man who is spiritually dead because he doesn't have the Life of Christ dies physically, he goes to hell. He will be cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death; it is eternal death, And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire: Rev 20:14-15.
The second death is eternal separation from God in the lake of fire. It happens to everyone that doesn't accept Jesus till he faces physical death. Physical death is compulsory but the second death is what everyone must avoid. You must not be separated from God eternally, you must not go to hell. Give your life to Jesus today so that even if you experience physical death, you will not experience the second death. I pray you don't die spiritually and that the lake of fire will not be your eternal home, in Jesus’ name. You must take a decision to personally make Jesus your Lord and Saviour and that must be now, if you have not done it before or if you did but lost it. Time is of essence because It is appointed unto a man once to die, after this judgment: Heb. 9:27.

Prayer/Action
1. Rededicate your life to Jesus now.
2. Ask God to hold your hands lest you fall, in Jesus’ name.
3. Renounce every satanic work that can cause you spiritual death.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, I decree that the power of mercy, favour and grace should join force together and move me forward this month, in the name of Jesus.
