Do Whatever He Tells You

Saturday 28 February
READ: John 2:1-11
MORE LESSON: John 9:1-7

Every man that wants to contact God needs to trust Him and obey every instruction that God gives. Checking through Scripture, you will notice there is hardly any miracle that Jesus did for any man without a particular instruction to be obeyed. Those who obeyed the instruction had a testimony and those who didn't obey lost the miracles. Sometimes the things He tells us to do are not things that we would consider enjoyable but obedience to prophetic instructions is what guarantees miraculous manifestations. Anybody who wants to enjoy the blessings of the Lord must be ready to obey His instructions.

Jesus attended a marriage in Cana of Galilee with His disciples, and His mother was also there. When the celebrants needed a miracle because their wine had finished, the mother of Jesus approached Him and Jesus told her to leave Him alone because His time was not yet come. But thank God for Mary; she didn't argue but she also determined that it was not the end of the matter. Many people miss their miracles because they take the answer 'no' too soon. Mary knew Jesus very well; you will only be able to get a miracle from God to the extent to which you know Him. She knew Jesus would not refuse someone who comes to Him for help and she also knew that Jesus would give them the miracle by giving an instruction. Therefore, she said to the people, 'Don't worry about what He said; He will do something soon, and whatever He tells you, do it.’

The instruction Jesus gave them was not the type they would have expected; He told them to fill the pots with water. That would have been rejected as foolish instruction by some people; saying, ‘We need wine not water.' But by obedience to that simple instruction they were able to get what they needed. You might be in need today because what you have is insufficient and you refused to obey God when He told you to give the little you had. All I want to say to you today is that whatever He tells you to do, do it; and your miracle is sure.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to speak His Word into your situation.
* Pray that you will always be sensitive to God’s instruction.
Take a promise of God to you and instruct your challenge with it.
Give God thanks over the instruction because it cannot fail.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, thank You for making me see January and February, Oh Lord as You live, I shall live to see beyond this year.

Glory Brings Good Things

Friday 27 February
READ: Psa. 84:11
MORE LESSON: 2 Chron. 1: 6- 12

According to the Oxford Dictionary, the word ‘glory’ has several definitions and explanations. I am particularly impressed by one definition: glory is defined as a special cause or reason for pride. This means that glory is something that happens to you or to someone around you and gives you a reason to be proud of the event. I think a man should always and only do and go for things that he can be proud of. Don't do things that you will be ashamed of when such are announced openly as what you did. Glory therefore is whatever brings you respect, honour and splendour. If glory makes a man to be respected, you should go for glory. I pray for you that in the name of Jesus you will not see shame.

Glory is desirable. We can be proud of good things when they happen; success, wealth, children, marriages, jobs, academic excellence and increase are things that we can be proud of. When these things happen to us we announce them and testify about them. Someone once likened glory to a spiritual visa that gives a man access to the best things of life. When you want the best things of life, what you need is for the glory of God to come upon you. When the glory comes, you immediately see good things draw to you of their own accord. Several people are pursuing money, appointments, promotions, houses and marriage partners, without caring to seek God's glory upon their lives. That is putting the horse before the cart. Those are not the first things to seek; get the glory and all those things will pursue you. David said, Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever: Psa. 23:6.

When the Lord told Solomon to ask for whatever he wanted, Solomon didn't ask for material things; he asked for wisdom. The wisdom of God is part of His glory; so Solomon was actually seeking God's glory to be upon his life. The God of glory spoke to him: Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like: 2 Chron. 1: 12.

He got the glory and the good things of life followed him. I pray for you that the glory of God will be your portion today, in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer/Action
* Ask for God’s grace and glory upon your destiny.
* Pray that you will not be barren of any good thing.
* Pray that the glory of the righteous will be your portion forever.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, today, connect me back to all the divine connections I have either lost or did not utilise; cause my golden opportunities to also return.

God's Glory Displayed

Thursday 26 February
READ: Psa. 29:1-11
MORE LESSON: Psa. 19:1-2

God displays His glory through His work: the whole universe shows His attributes and ability. If you consider the sky that stretches as though it has neither beginning nor end and that there is no pillar holding it, you will not doubt the greatness of the God who created such things. Even nature speaks of the glory of God. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handywork: Ps. 19:1.

Psalm 29:1-3 says, Give unto the Lord oh ye mighty, give unto the Lord, glory and strength . . . One way of giving glory to God is by talking about the mighty things He has done and by praising Him through reference to the things He has created. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name. Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. The voice of the Lord is upon the waters…. This is talking about worshipping God by considering the things He has created in nature. Have you ever seen a large body of water, a sea or an ocean? There is the awesome aura that goes with being around such vast body of water. The greatness and glory of God is clearly shown to you by such things in nature. The voice of the Lord is truly upon the waters.

The glory of God is the nature of God in display. And God has chosen to display His nature through the great works He has made in nature. Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Rom 1:19-20. Nobody can claim that He doesn't know that God is great, majestic, full of power, splendour and glory because even nature testifies to who God is.

It is incorrect for you to think that God has not done something for you to thank Him for; He has done innumerable things for you personally. All the same, if you can't see the things He has done for you personally, you still have things you can praise Him for. Pick the seas, the skies, the wildlife and vegetation, the mountains and the air you breathe and begin to give glory to God who created such things. Only a great God could have made the sun and moon, which for years have not dropped from the sky. Give glory to God for His nature that is displayed through works of creation.

Prayer/Action
Bow your knees, lift your hands, and with a song worship and adore Jehovah.
* Ask God to make you the evidence of His glory and majesty.
* Tell the Lord He deserves the glory and honour for all He is doing in your life.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, thank You for making things work out for my good this year.

The Principle of Giving and Receiving

Wednesday 25 February
READ: Prov. 11:24-28
MORE LESSON: Gen 8: 22

God operates by principles and His principles have no respect for personality. If a rich man and a poor man jump from a skyscraper, the principle of gravity will do justice to both of them equally. With God's principle; no matter who you are, if you meet the standard you will get the result and if you violate the principle, you will pay dearly for it. God bases everything on principles because He is just; He wants you to be the one to determine whether you will get results or not.

One of God's principles is the principle of sowing and reaping, giving and receiving:- Give and it shall be given unto you...: Lk. 6:38. Tithing is a principle of God for prosperity and defence. I have discovered that when it comes to the principle of giving and receiving, it primarily does not have to do with whether you are born again or not. If an unbeliever gives, he will receive and if a believer doesn't give he won't receive. Being born again is the principle for eternal life and going to heaven but as far as prosperity is concerned if an unbeliever chooses to be a giver, he will still prosper because it is the principle of God. The analogy is that if a sinner plants maize and a believer eats his own, when it is time for harvest, the sinner will have a harvest to take home while the believer will not. It is very strange not to sow and be expecting an harvest.

Fasting and prayer is a very powerful weapon for victorious Christian living. But fasting and prayer is not the principle for prosperity. I actually get surprised when believers think that it is by prayer and fasting that they can have financial prosperity: it is not the principle. The principle for receiving is giving and the principle for harvest is sowing. It is not in the quantity of the seed sown but in the quality. If a man has millions and he gives a hundred and another has only a hundred and he gives fifty out of it. God respects the fifty more; it might be less in quantity than the hundred given by the other person but it is higher in quality.

The reason God makes the principle for prosperity to be tied to giving is not because He needs money to do whatever He want to do; He always has a way of getting His job done. It is because He wants to test a man's heart before He blesses the man. If you make up your mind to work by the principle of God in giving and seed sowing, it will undoubtedly work for you.

Prayer/Action
* Promise God you will never withhold your seed and your harvest will never be delayed.
* Ask the Lord to fulfil His promises over all your past and future seeds.
* Pray that you may never be tempted to doubt the law of sowing and reaping.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
This month, Father, bless me indeed and enlarge my coast, in Jesus’ mighty name.

God's Signature

Tuesday 24 February
READ: 1 Sam. 3:19
MORE LESSON: Num. 23:19

A word is as powerful as the one who speaks it. The Bible says where the word of a king is there is power (Eccl. 8:4). In a nation, the word spoken by the Head of State and the one spoken by a school teacher do not carry the same amount of power. The strength of a word is in the personality who speaks it. This doesn't apply only to words of men but also to the Word of God.

Many believers have not been able to engage the Word of God for performance because they lack the understanding of the power behind the Word. The Word of God is as strong as God Himself. We read about Prophet Samuel for who God did not allow any of His word to fall to the ground. This happened because Prophet Samuel was speaking as the mouthpiece of God. So when Samuel spoke it was God speaking to the people and He would not allow His own Word to fail. This tells us how much God respects His Word.

When you read the scriptures that end with “saith the Lord”, do you know what that means? It means God is writing you a cheque and He needs to put a signature on it. The expression, “saith the Lord” is like God's signature on that promissory note that He has given you. In Isaiah 54:17 the Bible says: No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. This is a promise signed by the LORD! If you have been looking for Jehovah's signature, that is it for you. Anywhere you see 'saith the Lord', you should know that signature can't fail. Any bank must honour it in heaven and on the earth. In 2 Kings 7:1, Elisha said,'Hear ye the word of the Lord; THUS SAITH THE LORD, tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. But one man thought he was too intelligent and said that it couldn't be. The word came to pass but the man died as God had said.

Today, thus saith the Lord, 'you shall not die'. So no sickness can kill you; you will live to testify of the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. That word must be honoured because it is signed by the Creator and Governor of the universe. So keep confessing what the Lord has said; keep shouting and celebrating it. The scriptures will come alive for you. Everything written in the Scripture concerning you will come to pass, not as the word of man but as the Word spoken by the mouth of the Lord. God’s Word is His signature and it can never fail.

Prayer/Action
* Declare that every Word of God spoken or written concerning you shall come to pass.
* Proclaim that no Word of God will lack it’s mate in your life.
Read Isa. 55:11 and pray it.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, let the Abrahamic seed of success which You planted in me through Christ germinate, grow and flourish from now on, in Jesus’ mighty name.

He is All You Need

Monday 23 February
READ: Job 23:10-12
MORE LESSON: Matt 6:31 - 33

There are many things that men seek that are important needs in life; for example, man seeks what to eat. Every man on earth is doing something for food. People go out in the morning and come back late at night with little or no time for anything else in order to ensure that they and their families can feed. All the schooling, working, business and moving up and down that people do always boil down to the issue of bread. Many times when you try to make people go after spiritual things, they ask, 'How does that put food on my table?' But today you must know that getting Jesus is more important than getting food because He is the bread of Life (John 6: 48). This is better understood when we read John 6:27 which says, Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you: John 6:27 (NKJV).

This, of course, is not to advocate laziness and not doing anything for a living under the guise of spirituality. Every believer should be hard-working and have a job in his hand, but our priority in life should not be what to eat and possess but to know God and advance His Kingdom. That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. There is more to life than food, and to your body more than clothes ...So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs: Matt 6:25-32 (NLT). God is all you need; He is more important than the things you count as important.

The most important things that man cannot live without in the natural world are air and water. And these two are the most abundant resources on earth. But you need Jesus more than you need air and water. The Spirit of God in you is more important than air. The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life Job 33:4. The words translated 'spirit' and 'breath' in the Bible actually mean 'wind' or 'air' in the original language. So the Holy Spirit is the air you need to live. Jesus also is the giver of the Living Water which if a man drinks, he will never thirst again. (John 7: 38, John 4:13-14). Jesus says He is the water of life. Jesus chooses to compare Himself with the most essential thing in the life of a man because not having Jesus can be compared with not having the most essential thing in life and destiny.

Prayer/Action
* Promise God that your salvation will remain the most valuable thing in your life.
* Tell God you will not trade your salvation for any piece of bread or gold.
* Pray that no challenge or pleasure of life will be strong enough to take the place of Christ in your life.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, let the wind of positive change blow in my direction and move me forward today, in the name of Jesus.

Equipped for Good Works

Sunday 22 February
READ: 2 Tim 3: 16 – 17
MORE LESSON: 2 Tim 4:11-13

In the world today, where everything is becoming faster and faster, people no more sit down to spend quality time in studying. The habit of extensive reading, which is necessary for relevance, impact and leadership is being lost. You however should be an information seeker because if you are not informed, you will be deformed. The store house of the best and most powerful information is the Bible. Let nothing deprive you of having ample time for an extensive study of the Scripture. The irony of life is that many do not have time to study the Bible because they are busy running up and down to look for things, money, jobs, success. But all the things they are looking for are hidden in secrets and mysteries that are revealed only in the scriptures. So they are busy looking everywhere except in the right place.

A studious life is directly linked to success and prosperity. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success: Joshua 1:8. Studying the Word of God is a prerequisite for wealth and fruitfulness in life (Ps. 1:2-3). Especially as a minister, worker or a believer that wants to be used mightily of God, you cannot compromise the place of reading. Reading is part of what equips you for good works; All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work: 2Tim 3:16-17( NKJV).

Your library speaks a lot about your capacity and seriousness in ministry and service to God. Every man, both in the Bible and in contemporary times that has made impact for God has been a studious person. Moses, as far back as thousands of years ago, was a writer and definitely a reader. David invested his life into diligent study of the law of God; Solomon read wide and wrote thousands of proverbs, songs and wise sayings; Daniel was an avid reader; Paul was a very ardent student and reader, and his books were his most valued possessions (2 Tim. 4:13). How much more, our Lord Jesus Christ was a reader: {Luke 4:16 (NKJV)}.

A serious believer who wants to be effective for God should have different versions of the Bible; a good concordance, and a commentary for in- depth study. If a man of God doesn't know anything in the world, he ought to know the Word of God. He must be a versed reader. From today, develop the discipline of reading and studying the Bible, anointed books and other materials relevant to your vision and your profiting will appear to all men.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God for the spirit that thirsts after God’s Word always.
* Pray against anything that can take the Word of God from you.
* Pray for grace not only to read but also to be a doer of His Word.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Today, I silence every evil generator supplying the current of failure and backwardness to my life and destiny, in Jesus’ name.

Transformed from Glory to Glory

Saturday 21 February
READ: 2 Cor. 3: 18
MORE LESSON: Col.1:27

The Word 'glory' as used in the Greek New Testament is the word 'doxa'. It denotes good opinion, praise, honour, magnificence, excellence, commanding respect and having a good reputation. In the Hebrew Old Testament, the word 'glory' is 'kabod'; it also denotes wealth, honour, majesty, splendour and having a great reputation. 'Kabod' literally means 'weighty' or 'heavy. God's glory is weighty and heavy; when it comes upon you, you can't be small, little or irrelevant. You become a force to be reckoned with. Glory gives you a good reputation in life and makes you a person of substance. This is the dimension of God's glory revealed in 1 Samuel 2:8: He raiseth up the poor out of the dust and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory . The man in this Scripture verse was formerly poor and beggarly but the glory of God came upon him and transformed him from poverty to abundance, and from the dunghill to the throne of glory. When the glory of God comes upon you, your status changes and you become celebrated in every place you had been considered to be irrelevant.

The glory of God is however not limited to physical change of status; it also includes change of status in your spiritual life. Glory also refers to the transformation of your character and attributes to be more Christ-like. That is why Paul said . . . But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord: 2 Cor. 3:18 (NKJV). This is easily understood when we know that the glory of God talks about His nature, attributes, abilities and character. This directly shows that the more of God you have, the more glorious you become. The more you become like Christ in character, attitude, thought, speech and deed, the more of His glory you manifest because Christ in you is the hope of glory (Col. 1:27).

The secret of glory in life is seeking to become more Christ-like. Healing the sick, raising the dead, performing signs and wonders, wealth and influence are simply by-products of the Christ-like life. They all are simply part of His natural ability which flows out of you as you become more like Him. Holiness, righteousness, wisdom, power, love are also normal things for God. So as you are transformed to be more and more like Him, the glory of God spontaneously oozes out of your life; and as far as heaven is concerned, nothing special has happened. The normal attributes of God are just being expressed through you as you become like Him.

Prayer/Action
* Pray that your destiny will be like a shining light that shinneth more and more.
* Pray that your life will be a reflection of who God is every time.
* Pray that you will not lose your glory to the pleasure of sin.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
My Father and my God, let the Blood of Jesus answer for me in any difficult situation today, in the name of Jesus.

How to Get What You Want

Friday 20 February
READ: Jam 1:17
MORE LESSON: Prov. 4: 4 - 9

I was on a preaching engagement with a man of God in Kaduna, Nigeria and the people almost destroyed the body of his car when we were leaving the venue. The man of God was being driven a Hummer jeep at that time, which happened to be the only one in the whole area, and the people were touching and banging the car saying, “Lord, me too”. Though I didn't like the banging, I admired their attitude of desiring a good thing that they have seen in another person's life and asking God to make it happen to them also. I like their mentality of recognizing that the good thing is available for them.
For everything that you want in life, there is a ''how” to go about it. The reason you don't have something is not because it is not possible to get it but because you probably do not yet know how to get it. So you need to ask God how to go about having all that you want. There are a thousand and one godly ways to get something; only understand how. The way Hannah got her child was different from the way Elizabeth got hers; for the former it was through prayers but for the latter it was through faithfulness in God's service.

The first “how” of any good thing you want in life is to bank on the faithfulness of God. If you can trust on the faithfulness of God, you will get what you want. Don't trust in anything or any man for what you want: all other ground is sinking sand. You will discover how to get what you want by listening to the Word that God in His faithfulness is teaching you. God is not partial, whatever He has done for one, He can also do for another. The Bible says in Rom. 10:12 that He is rich unto all that call upon Him.

Another essential component of how to get the good things in life is to discover the wisdom by which God operates. There is an insight that must come to you for you to know how to get your God-given desire; it is this insight that removes struggle from your life. Prov. 4:7 (GNB) says, Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do. Whatever else you get, get insight. You must make the issue of acquiring God's wisdom your priority in life. This you can do by prayer, studying the Word of God, reading books and seeking godly counsel. However, God's wisdom only comes to those who value, desire and seek for it: Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom. Prov. 18:1.

Today, I pray that God in His faithfulness will give you the wisdom you need to enter into the inheritance that He has prepared for you, in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer/Action
* Tell God you believe in His faithfulness to do all that He has promised you.
* Pray that this year, lines will fall to you in pleasant places.
* Ask God for power to get wealth according to His Word. - Deut 8:18.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, I command the assignment of Jazebel, Pharaoh and Herod to fail woefully in my life today, in Jesus’ name.

Dry Rods shall Bud Again

Thursday 19 February
READ: Num 17: 1 - 9
MORE LESSON: Job 14: 7

When confronted with a matter, don't listen to the situation, listen to God's Word. God might have made you a promise before you undertook a venture and then the present situation seems to be going contrary to the word you received. Don't be frightened by the situation, re-tune to the promises God gave you and you will find the strength to go on. The crisis or situation you face doesn't represent God's perspective about that matter. God's word is God's perspective to the situation you are facing, and God's perspective is always right. Regardless of that situation, the word of God is effectual and effective. Even if it looks like all hope is lost, hold on to God's Word: there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Job 14:7 (NIV)

There is no situation that is beyond recovery by God's Word. Imagine the extreme situation of Aaron' rod which was a dry and lifeless stick; when it came in contact with the presence of God, the Bible says; it budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds. Num 17:8 (KJV). Who would have thought that a dried up rod that was cut from its root will ever bud anymore, let alone yield flowers and bear fruit. But out of the twelve rods set before the altar, Aaron's rod blossomed under 24 hours. The budding and blossoming of the rod was already miraculous enough but then it happened overnight. That is God speeding up the process of restoration of the rod. This all happened because that was the rod that God chose. When God chooses you, no matter how dead your situation is, life will come into it speedily. Today God’s Word is coming to you and bringing life to your sitaution.

The role of prophetic utterances in making your dead situations come back to life cannot be ignored. From the Bible passage read, we can see the role Moses played in lifting Aaron above the rebellion of men and making his dry rod to bud again. There are men that God has placed over you to pronounce His words over your life and situation. Honour such men and stay close to them so that life may be injected into your situation by the pronouncements of such prophet over your life. Today I declare that any situation that is dead in your life will receive new life and all rods, no matter for how long they have been dry in your life, will bud again this morning in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Command every hopelessness to disappear in your life.
* Prophesy to your dry situation now to turn around.
Take an anointing oil and anoint yourself for a new season of possibilities.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, I pray that I, my family, church and nation will move forward this day and shall not be drawn back, in Jesus’ mighty name.

What you see is what you Get

Wednesday 18 February
READ: Matt 14: 14-25
MORE LESSON: Heb 12: 1-2
When a situation presents itself to us, it is not yet a problem until we choose to see it as a problem. When you are faced with a challenge in life it is not necessarily yet a problem; it is the way you handle it that will determine whether it has become a problem or not. A situation can be an opportunity or a problem depending on how you see it. There is the popular story of the shoe company that sent a sales person to Africa in the early times of colonialism. When the sales person got to Africa, he realised that the people did not wear shoes, so he sent back to the head office in Europe that Africa is no market for shoes because the people did not wear shoes. After a while another sales person was sent and when he got to Africa, he saw that none of them wore shoes. He immediately sent to the headquarter office and said, 'Ship all the shoes here. This is a great market of people that do not have shoes but each need one.'
Jesus our Lord never saw situations as problems but as opportunity for God to be glorified. When a multitude followed Him into the wilderness and they needed to eat and there was no food for them, Jesus had a crisis in His hands. Even Jesus was faced with a challenge, so no man is too big to be faced with challenges. But Jesus didn't see this as a problem but as an opportunity for God to be glorified. He went ahead to feed five thousand men and many women and children with five loaves and two fish.
After this Jesus went to pray, and the disciple left with the ship to the other side. When He finished praying, He needed to get to the other side but there was no ship. But the Lord Jesus always saw and thought possibilities, not problems. So without any panic, He began to walk on the water. He didn't see the water as a problem but as road. Satan always wants you to panic when faced with a challenge but the correct attitude of a believer is that when there is a challenge, you are not to see the problem but to see Jesus.
Whatever happens to you in life, if you can keep your sight on Jesus, I assure you that greater works than He did you can do. . There is no challenge you cannot deal with, there is no distress that you cannot overcome as long as your eyes are on Jesus.

Prayer/Action
* Declare that every challenge on your path way will become a ladder for going up.
* Command every crooked place to be straighten now.
* Ask God for the courage and faith of Caleb to take over your mountain.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Oh Lord, I approach the throne of grace today to find help and mercy for the hour of need, in Jesus’ mighty name.

Whom seekest Thou?

Tuesday 17 February
READ: John 20: 11-16
MORE LESSON: Psa. 42:1-2

Different people are seeking different things and it is what you are seeking that you will find. There was a time that a crowd gathered to a place where Jesus was but there were certain Greeks who came to worship at that feast who were not in any way confused about what they wanted. They had only one mission: they were seeking Jesus. And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. John 12:20-21. These people came to see Jesus. I wonder what the other people came to see.

When Jesus died and was buried, His body was in the sepulchre. Many people forgot about Him but there were a few of His disciples that continued to seek Him. Mary Madgalene went to the sepulchre and when she didn't find Jesus where He was buried, she started searching for Him She didn't know that Jesus had resurrected so she was crying and searching for Jesus' body. She saw angels but she wasn't still satisfied, she wanted to see the Lord. Her quest for the Lord became so intense that Jesus had to come and reveal Himself to her.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? . . . John 20:15. Even though Jesus had not yet finished the substitutionary work of atonement for man because He had not yet ascended to the Father, He had to answer this woman's quest because she sought Him passionately. It is evident from scriptures that Jesus was originally not planning to come to her, He was on the way to the Throne Room of God for a mission of eternal consequence, but the depth of her quest for the Lord commanded the Lord's attention even at such a crucial time. So Jesus appeared to her and said; Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. John 20:17. You will find Him only when you seek Him with all your heart. Jer 29: 13. A good question to always ask yourself as you go about your daily activities is 'who (or what) am I seeking?' Is it money, recognition, success, fame or Jesus? The only right thing to seek is Him, and when you seek Him, you will find Him. When you find Him, every other thing will be added to you.

Prayer/Action
* Pray that you will never cease to make God your priority in life.
* Ask God for a heart that constantly seeks and thirsts after God and His Kingdom.
* Pray that you will not seek God in Vain.

You become what you See

Monday 16 February
READ: Jer. 1: 10 - 13
MORE LESSON: Heb 12: 2

The Bible tells us to keep looking unto Jesus because what a man sees is very important. Your destiny is determined by what you see: what you see determines your purpose and your purpose determines your destiny. Our first purpose here on the earth is to represent Jesus and then to end up with Him in heaven. Your purpose on earth is beyond marriage, career or even ministry. Your number one assignment in life is Jesus and to let everyone see Jesus in your life. This is why having your sight focused on Him is very important; because if people must see Jesus in you, you must first have your sight on Him. The people of Antioch saw the disciples and called them Christians because they lived, walked, talked and conducted themselves like Christ. (Acts 11: 26).

Your sight also determines your direction. A blind man does not know the direction to go because direction comes out of sight and vision. Only a man with sight can know whether he is facing east or west. You cannot operate in grace except your sight is properly fixed. Whatever you cannot see will never be yours. God saw a great man in Jeremiah but Jeremiah himself had to see correctly for there to be a manifestation of what God had seen about him. The Bible records thus; "What do you see, Jeremiah?" "I see the branch of an almond tree," I replied. The Lord said to me, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled." Jer 1:11-12 (NIV) Your sight is important in becoming what God has prepared for you and getting to where God wants you to. If you can see it you can get it.

No matter what people say about you always guard what you see about yourself and how to do this is by fixing your sight on the Word of God. You are not to be disturbed about what somebody says about you but rather be concerned about what God has said about you because your sight determines your direction. A man who keeps his eyes backwards and is trying to move forward direction is courting a fall.

As you keep looking unto Jesus by fixing your eyes on the word, your purpose will be clear and your destiny will be fulfilled. This is your portion in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to make you Christ-like in every way.
* Ask God to take away from you everything that does not make Christ to be seen in you.
* Ask for a fresh revelation of Christ in your life.

I prophesy that today is the day that the Lord has made, and nothing that makes for sorrow or regret shall be found in it.

The Righteous is Blessed

Saturday 14 February
Text: Psalm 1:1- 6
MORE LESSON: Psalm 5: 12

It is amazing that some believers want to separate goodness, prosperity and blessings from righteousness. Yet the Bible makes it clear that the righteous man is blessed. Righteousness is not incompatible with prosperity rather righteousness is the requirement for God's blessing. God blesses the righteous.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither and whatsoever the doeth shall prosper. Ps 1: 1-3 The righteous is likened to a tree planted by the rivers of water; which means that that tree can never experience drought or lack. The most remarkable thing about this tree to which the righteous is likened is that it is one tree but planted beside many rivers of water.

The implication of being planted by rivers of waters is that if one river dries up, another one quickly supplies the water needed by this blessed tree. No wonder it brings forth fruit in its season, its leaf never withers and whatsoever thing it does prospers. This blessing is for the righteous which extends to you if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and saviour.

The blood of Jesus makes you righteous with God and it qualifies you for the blessings that God reserves for the righteous. Even if you commit sin, the blood of Jesus is efficacious enough to cleanse you and make you righteous when you confess and ask for forgiveness from the Lord. Christ has qualified you for God's blessing for the righteous. You are that tree planted by rivers of water, you will bear fruit in its season. If anybody tells you that if he doesn't help you, you are finished; it is the biggest lie of the century. Tell him that you are the planting of the Lord and that you are planted by rivers of water. If any man shuts his door against you, another one will open.

God is your continuous source as you stay in His righteousness and do not allow anything to cut you away from God. As long as you are connected to your source, your resources are certain. Have a resource filled day.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to terminate the shame of poverty in the lives of the righteous especially you.
* Pray that as you walk in righteousness prosperity will be normal to your living.
* Pray Psa. 1:1-3 upon yourself now.

Your heavenly “Abba”

Friday 13 February
Text: Gal 4: 3-6
MORE LESSON: Matt 6:26 – 33

You have to get the deep revelation that God is your Father. In the prayer that Jesus taught to His disciples, the first statement is 'Our Father who art in heaven'. Matt 6: 9. The word translated 'Father' is the Hebrew word 'Abba'. And it primarily means 'Source' and 'Origin'. The English word 'Father' doesn't capture the entire meaning of 'Abba'. When you understand that God is your Heavenly 'Abba', you will never worry about anything again in life. God is the Abba (Source) of your life, health, provision and sustenance. Nobody can touch your life, health or deny you of sustenance.
Those that see their salary and job as their source will always have a cause to worry. Those that see a rich man somewhere as their source will never escape from disappointments in life. Some people have a charm that they see as the source of their protection. Such people will be truncated in mid-life. If you have rich earthly parents, you shouldn’t even set your heart on them as your 'Abba'. Only God deserves that exalted position in your heart.

Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? (Matt 6:26 NKJV) Jesus said we should learn from the birds of the air because they are a good example of creatures that understand that God is their 'Abba'. Birds know that God will feed them and take care of them, this is the reason you can never meet a worried bird.

They just fly around joyfully, they don't plant but they harvest. They don't sleep at night wondering where tomorrow's meal will come from, they just wake up in the morning, sing, dance and celebrate God; rest assured in Him that the food for that day will come. The Bible said “Your heavenly Father feeds them”. So He is even your Father not theirs. If birds can be so restful in Your Father how much more you, whose is the Father. El-Shaddai, the All-Sufficient One is your Abba. He is your Source, Sustainer, Provider and Protector. El-Shaddai means the multi-breasted one, which denotes the relationship of a child to the breast milk of the mother.

All that the child needs for life, growth and protection is contained in the breast milk of the mother. He is your Elshaddai; your multi breasted, all sufficient God. From today, don't fret about anything, just look up to your Abba and this will be your testimony: you shall dwell on high: your place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks. Bread shall be given you and your waters shall be sure. Isa 33:16.

Prayer/Action
* Tell God you receive Him afresh today as your “Abba” forever.
* Say, “Father, I rest my all in you, I shall never lack with you as my “Abba”.
* Confess “Abba” Father I love, adore and worship you forever, stand out for my destiny.

Activate the Glory in You

Text: Col. 1:27
MORE LESSON: Eph.1: 9-12

Everyone that is created of God is made with a measure of glory by reason of creation. There is a glory resident in every created man called the created glory. The Psalmists aid concerning man; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. Psa. 8:4-8.

Man is a creation of dominion, a product of God Himself, made in His image to be and do on earth what God is and does in heaven. I want you to know that every man, whether born again or not, carries glory by the reason of being created by God.

However, the glory in a believer is active by the reason of redemption while the glory in the unbeliever is inactive. Salvation activates the glory God created you with; so when you are born again, you need to partner with God to get your glory to work. The Bible says; . . . Christ in you is the hope of glory. Col 1:27; meaning that when you accept Christ, your glory comes alive. For example, it is possible to own a car but not know how to drive. You can buy a car and keep it on the same spot while it deteriorates till it rots there. What use is such a car to you? When Christ is in you, your glory comes alive and you cease to be ordinary. As a child of God, you are not ordinary; you are the offspring of the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and the child of a lion is a lion. So you don't manifest the characteristics of a cat, even though science claims that the lion and the cat belong to the same family but we know that they differ.

A child of Jehovah and an unbeliever may belong both to the human race but they are different. Even though one is created with glory, the born again child of God has what it takes to make the inherent glory eternally relevant. If you are not born again or you are living in sin as a Christian, you can't manifest glory because the redemption makes the glory active and functional. As you rededicate your life to the Lord today, the glory of your destiny will manifest. I terminate whatever hindered your glory from being expressed in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Say, “Father by your redemptive power over my life, I activate any creative glory today”.
* Go ahead and terminate every anti-glory manifestations in your life by the right of your redemption promises.
* Command your glory to come alive and end the forces of shame and disgrace.

Steps to a Fulfilled Destiny

Wednesday 11 February
Text: Hab 2:1 - 4
MORE LESSON: Psa. 40:7 – 8

For a man’s destiny to be fulfilled he must prayerfully seek God to help him discover himself because the first step in the fulfilment of your glorious destiny is discovery. Until you discover what God has for you in destiny, you will continue to wander aimlessly in life. Anything goes for a man who has not discovered his life purpose and vision. However, when you discover your purpose, you become focused and disciplined because you realise that you cannot do just anything anymore. Without discovery of destiny, there cannot be recovery. Discovery also makes you save time. If a person lives to be a hundred years and for seventy out of those years, he does the wrong things and pursue the wrong vision, it is like he lives forty years.

Jesus lived for thirty three years but because He knew His purpose from day one, He achieved much more than people who lived to be a hundred and twenty. I pray that you will not wander in darkness anymore, but discover your destiny, save time, recover and have a fulfilled life, in Jesus’ name.

The second step in fulfilling destiny is pursuit. You can't stop at discovering your destiny, you must pursue it. There is an idea, talent or vision that is meant to showcase you to the world but you have to diligently work at it. Sharpen and polish that ability by training and consistent use. For Daniel, it was the ability to unravel hard sayings; for Joseph it was the ability to interpret dreams and for David it was the skill of war that God gave to them. God has put inside you what you need to get you to where you are going; discover the seed, talent and engage it until it takes you to where God intends for you. Pursue your vision and destiny, never giving up.

The final step to fulfilment of destiny is that you must defend your glorious destiny. I want you to know that glory has enemies and glorious destinies attract attacks. You have to defend the glory of your destiny so that the enemy will not spoil your glorious achievement. Some don't know the art of glory management; that is, how to maintain and defend the glory that they have attained in destiny, so they lose it as soon as they get it. But that will not be your portion, in Jesus’ name. I release upon you the wisdom to manage and maintain your glorious destiny. The three steps to a glorious destiny are discovery, pursuit and maintenance or defence. As you follow these three steps, you will end up with a fulfilled and glorious destiny.

Prayer/Action
* Pray that your destiny will not be truncated, delayed or hindered.
* Ask that the fullness of your destiny shall not be hidden from you.
* Pray that your destiny shall be as a shining light that shines more and more.

The Mercy of God II

Text: Is 55: 7.
MORE LESSON: 2 Chron 33: 1 – 16

When Jesus was to die on the cross, two criminals were crucified along with Him. Jesus was sinless but the criminals had done so much evil, probably all their lives until this last minute when they hanged on the cross. One of the criminals appealed to Jesus, I know I am being justly punished, for I am getting what I deserve for my sins. But you, Lord, are sinless. Please, remember me when you come into your kingdom: Luke 23:40-42 (NIV). Jesus in turn assured him, I tell you the truth, today you would be with me in paradise: verse 43. A man that had done evil all his life asked for mercy at the last minute and he qualified to go to a place reserved only for saints.
The mercy of God is the master key that opens the door to salvation. No matter what evil you have done in the past or what mistakes you have made, the mercy of God will answer for you. The mercy of God will turn a prostitute to an honourable woman, turn an armed robber to a servant of God, take guilt from the heart and change your story. If a terrorist that has killed people and burnt churches should repent and come to the Lord Jesus, I assure you that God in His mercy will accept him.

Manasseh was one of the worst kings Israel ever had. He did more evil than any other king in Israel and was worse than even the Gentile kings that the Lord removed from the land of Canaan for their abominations. He made altars for idols everywhere, including in the temple of Jehovah God, and so, used an idol to replace the Invisible God in His temple for people to worship. He sacrificed his own children to demons and did much evil in the land. Finally the Lord brought the armies of Assyria against Manasseh and they captured him, bound him with chains and carried him to Babylon. They tortured him and when he was in affliction, he humbled himself before God, whom he wronged and pleaded for mercy.

Anybody that knows the full weight of Manasseh's evil against the Lord would think that he would not receive pardon from the Lord. But when he prayed to God, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and He listened to his plea and brought him back to his kingdom in Jerusalem. Then Manasseh knew and acknowledged that the Lord is God (2 Chron 33:13). The Lord not only forgave him but restored him to his kingship in Israel. What a merciful God! If God can have mercy on Manasseh, He can have mercy on anyone. No matter what you have done in the past or what mistakes you have made that you are suffering the consequences, I declare that today is your day of mercy, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Pray that the mercy of God will locate your destiny today for a turn around.
* With great humility and commitment, ask God for pardon for all things you ever did against God and His Word.
* Tell the Lord you are forsaking your old ways and that by His mercy He will restore all the blessings that sin has ever denied you.

The Mercy of God

Monday 9 February
Text: Mark 10:46 – 52
MORE LESSON: Psa. 102: 13

The mercy of God is the multipurpose key that brings solution to all problems of life. Whatever need or prayer request you have in life, asking for the mercy of God covers them all. When you receive mercy from God, you freely find salvation, forgiveness, healing, defence, wealth, promotion or any blessing you need. The prayer for mercy is always answered because mercy is a language that Heaven always listens to. In Mark 10: 46, we find the story of blind Bartimaeus. We are not told how he became blind but the blindness is a handicap and he became a roadside beggar, thus he became distinct in a negative way.

There are some problems, sickness and affliction that isolate a man physically, socially, spiritually from the good of the society; they make him not to be able to enter into the class of his colleagues anymore. Bartimaeus is identified by his ailment, it is like a surname to him as he is called Blind Bartimaeus. There are some problems that become like surname to whoever has them; you hear people referred to as 'That Sick Sister', 'That Poor Brother', 'That Barren Woman' etc. But today, whatever problem the enemy has used to rename you will be erased by the mercy of Jehovah, in Jesus’ name.

On a fateful day, Jesus Christ is in town and Bartimaeus hears that Jesus is passing by. Bartimaeus has lots of prayer requests as he is blind, poor and isolated, but he asks for only one thing - the mercy of God. It interests me that Bartimeaus asks for mercy from Jesus and not sight, money or healing. The reason is that he knows that if the Lord would have mercy on him, he would receive everything that he wants. No wonder when the cry of mercy catches the attention of Jesus, the next thing Jesus tells him is, What do you want me to do for you?...: Mark 10:51. The Lord gives him a blank cheque to ask anything he wants and his request is granted because mercy has located him.

Today I want you to lift your voice and ask for God's mercy. Whatever problem you need God to deal with, whether sin, sickness, poverty, barrenness, failure, academics or any form of affliction, just cry to God for His mercy and it will locate you. Also, whatever blessing you need in life, do not trust in your ability, qualifications or work, ask the mercy that is obtained through the Blood of Jesus to give it to you. Today is your day of finding mercy with God, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Ask that the mercy of God will stand for you in God’s presence today.
* Ask that God will visit the matters of your life by His mercies and make the impossible possible in your life.
* Say like Bartineaus, Jesus Son of David, have mercy on me.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Jesus, I put my hands in Your hands today; I shall not fear a fall and I shall not sink, in Jesus’ mighty name.

Hand of Help II

Sunday 8 February
READ: Psa. 3:1-4 M
ORE LESSON: Psa 3: 1 - 8

There are times when people conclude that even God cannot help one in a situation. It is easier to bear when only one person reaches this conclusion but when you have a number of people saying this, then the matter is critical because if God cannot help, then one is finished. When David was in a similar situation he lamented, LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God: Psa. 3: 1 -2
Men concluded that there was no help for David in God. What a way to conclude on another man's matter! They talked as if they had a conference with God and He agreed with them that He was not going to offer help to David. I have observed that people talk more about the predicament of others behind them but in David's case they told him to his face. But thank God David knew his God, so he countered, But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head: Psa. 3:3.

David knew that men's opinion was not God's conclusion concerning him. And so he cried to the Lord and He heard him. God is faithful. Help comes from the ability to look up to God and not to man. No man has ever trusted the arm of flesh and succeeded. Therefore, when everything has failed, it is time to look up to God and confess your confidence in Him. The most interesting thing in all this scenario is David's choice of words. He said God is his glory, not man. In the midst of a shameful and hopeless situation, he knew he had glory. These are words that Heaven cannot hear and go to sleep. When there is no assurance of sound health, no hope of bearing children, situations have battered you so much that you are down cast, you must defy your situation as David did and cry to God who is able to lift up your head.

The following keys will help you provoke the help of God in any situation:
- Faith in God who is greater than all men.
- Keep your focus on God. Challenges are pressures aimed at keeping your focus away from God.
- Mind your attitude in difficult times- your thoughts, your speech and your actions.
Help is coming your way today. David encouraged himself in the Lord and spoke right, Do the same today and you will see God's hand of help in great and mighty ways.

Prayer/Action
* Declare like David ...Thou, oh Lord, art a shield for me, my glory and the lifter up of mine head.
* Ask God to turn every negative word of your enemies to celebration and testimony for you.
* Give God thanks because your destiny is not in the enemy’s hand, but in God’s hand.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, my going out and coming in today and throughout 2015 is in Your hands, I shall not end my day in a casket, in Jesus’ mighty name.

Hand of Help I

Saturday 7 February
READ: Hab. 3:17-19
MORE LESSON: Psa. 46:1 - 3

The first text starts with 'although', which points to the fact that what is happening is contrary to expectation. The verse starts on a note of disappointment and from a negative perspective. The writer then goes ahead to list all the situations that obtain:
- the fig tree is not blossoming,
- there is no fruit in the vine,
- the olive does not yield despite all the efforts put in to make it produce,

- there is no yield in the sheep fold. When the animals no longer can produce, they are barren,
- the fields yield no food. This means that there is nothing to look forward to,
- there is no herd in the stalls.
You must understand that for an economy driven by agriculture, it is a terrible situation the prophet describes here. This definitely is a crisis situation and only help from the Lord can come to the rescue. Likewise, there are certain situations in life that only the help of God can save the day. Such situations include:
- When there is evidence that tomorrow does not hold much hope.
- When there is disappointment, and no hope.
- Only the living need help and so when one is alive but is as good as dead.
- When you look good on the outside but have terrible issues inside.
- When all things cannot work despite all the efforts applied.
Despite all these happenings, the prophet says even if all things fail, he will not be discouraged, but will rejoice in the Lord and joy in the God of his salvation; that is real faith. The reason this man of God could rejoice in crisis is because he knows that the hand of help is coming for him. He is sure that the Lord God will strengthen and help him. I want you to believe that the same hand of help will come through for you today.

The hand of help comes to those who:
- In the midst of pain can give positive confessions.
- Keep having faith when situation seems contrary to their expectations.

- Believe God in the face of things that could make them doubt the promises of God.
Help comes from the ability to see God even when there is no evidence that He is there. Help will always locate such people because they have attracted the hand of God into their situation. So I charge you today, never give in to negative situations. Nothing should be allowed to steal your joy from you because the hand of help will reach you.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God for help in the day of battle, that you will not lack strength.
* Command the hand of help upon your day as you go out.
* Ask God for grace to trust Him in all situations.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
As mountains surround Jerusalem so will the angels of God surround me today and keep me in all my ways.

Walking On Water II

READ: Matt 14:29 - 32
MORE LESSON: Isa. 43:1 - 5

It is a great thing to get help from the Lord and experience miracles. However, many times you do the impossible but it doesn't last because you don’t know how to sustain it. So it is good to walk on water; it is also important to know how to keep walking and not sink.

Peter walks on water because his heart is fixed on the word of the Master to him. As long as his heart and eyes are on the word of the Lord, come, the water is submissive under him. But Peter’s miracle is not for long, But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink: Matt 14:30. Soon Peter cannot sustain the miraculous walk anymore. The reason Peter begins to sink is not because the power of Jesus has diminished, it is because he loses sight of the key to his miracle by being distracted. He removes his focus from the word of the Lord to him and begins to look at the storm.

Many also get a miracle from God and later loses focus and so cannot sustain the miracle, they begin to sink. How do you explain someone that is always in God's presence to pray, study and fellowship till he gets a miracle and after that, he stops going to church. Many get breakthrough in the place of prayer and after the breakthrough comes they get so busy with the miracle that they do not have time for prayer anymore. You will notice that many believers fast and pray seeking God for a spouse, job, business or admission to school, and after getting it they become distracted from the Lord. But receiving a miracle from God is not the end, you must sustain it. The way to sustain it is the way you get it: keep your eyes fixed on the Master. To continue walking on the water, you must continue to obtain help from the same hand that gets you started.

However, the good news is that when Peter begins to sink, he doesn't keep quiet, he shouts for help, . . . and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me: Matt 14:30. If you have experienced the help of God before and now you are sinking because you have been distracted, it is not too late to shout to Him for help. He is ever willing and able to help you. Jesus stretches his hand to Peter, catches him up and holds him as they both walk on water back to the boat. As you cry to the Lord for help today, He will hold you and you will walk on water once more.

Prayer/Action

Walking On Water I

Thursday 5 February
READ: Matt 14:29
MORE LESSON: Jn. 14: 12-13

Jesus has just finished a miracle crusade and He asks the disciples to go over to the other side of the lake. He goes to pray on the mountain and in the night He walks on the water to meet the disciples on the lake. There is no way a man can walk on water except with divine help. Jesus is helped by God, that is why He walks on water and overtakes the disciples, who have earlier taken off in a boat. Peter sees Jesus walking on the water and he is wise enough to know that it is not possible by human effort but only by divine help. So he doesn't just step into the water saying, Isn't that Jesus walking on the water? Jesus wait, I'm coming too. He knows he cannot do it on his own, so he asks for help, Lord, if it's you, ...tell me to come to you on the water: Matt 14:28 (NIV).

I pray God will give you the wisdom to ask for help when you need it and not attempt, by your own power, an act that only the help of God can do for you. Peter knows what he is looking for and where to get it. He seeks a miracle and he knows it would not come by his natural ability but by the help of God, so he asks the Lord to bid him come. The Lord simply tells Peter to come (Matt 14: 29) and Peter walks on water. Actually Peter is not walking on the water, he is walking on the word of the Lord.

Walking on water denotes living a life of miracles; and you can so live and experience the help of God. All you need is to get a word from the Lord and ride on it. Like Peter, do not presume and jump into the water to start walking, you need to ask for help from the Lord. Today, whatever it is that you desire and you have not got, or whatever is the seemingly impossible situation that confronts you, what you need is help from above. Look to Heaven, talk to God and get the help that you need. I see God bring you help today as you walk on the water till you overtake those that have gone ahead of you, in Jesus’ mighty name.

Prayer/Action
Ask God for the fulfilment of Jn.14:12 in your life.
* Ask for the power to walk on top of every situation of your life.
* Rebuke fear that could hinder you from walking on top of situations.
* Give God thanks for His promises that you will do greater things.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
The strength of the Almighty God shall go with me into this new month and I shall see my desire in the land of the living, in Jesus’ mighty name.

The Secret Place of the Most High

Wednesday 4 February
READ: Psalm 91:1-16 MORE LESSON: Isa. 54:14-17

There is a place of constant and unfailing safety and security in life; it is the secret place of the Most High. This is the place that is beyond the reach of all evil. I want you to know that safety in life doesn't come from the armed forces, it comes from staying in the shadow of the Almighty. When God is your refuge and your fortress, He delivers you from the snare of the fowler, and the noisome pestilence. You don't have to be afraid of the terror by night and the arrow by day. You will not be touched by the pestilence that moves around in darkness or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

You will notice that the Scripture doesn't say there won’t be snares, wasting, destruction, pestilence and terror. It says they will always happen but it gives you the assurance that evil will not come near you and your family because you live in the secret place of the Most High.

As a ministry and commission, the Lord has given us the assurance of this scripture as a yearly prophetic declaration for many years now and it has never failed. Therefore know that you are covered by the shadow of the Almighty and no evil can happen to you. Angels of God are assigned from above to watch and guard you. So you have a security system that is superior to that provided by the police and military. Soldiers have their own troubles that keep them busy as well but the angels are up to the task of securing you. Your help and security are from above, not abroad.

The language that I want you to speak hence forth is, I have help from the Lord. No matter what, say to yourself, I have help. When the enemy comes roaring, tell him, No shaking, I have help. You have help because you dwell in the secret place of the Most High.

The last three verses of Ps 91 tell you what your portion is as evil goes on rampage around the world, Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him My salvation: Psa. 91:14-16.
God says He will set you on high and when He does, you can't be shaken. He promises to answer you when you call upon Him; that is assuring you of His help. He says He will be with you and deliver you. What a wonderful assurance from the God that cannot lie. To crown it all, He says He will satisfy you with long life and show you His salvation. Shout a loud Amen to the prayer.

Prayer/Action
Take five (5) verses from Psa. 91 and proclaim them over yourself, your family, church and nation.

Help from the Lord

Tuesday 3 February
Text: Psalm 121:1-2
MORE LESSON: Psalm 23:1 – 6

In Psalm 121, David makes a proclamation in the face of an imminent challenge, that must be a daunting issue. As individuals, a church and even a nation, we may be faced with daunting challenges but I want you to know that like the psalmist proclaims, Our help comes from the LORD which made heaven and earth: Verse 2. The implication of this is that the victory we get is neither going to be by power nor by might but by the Spirit of the Lord (Zech 4: 6). I want you to know that your victory and success this year will not be by your calculation, manipulation, intelligence or capability, because the abilities of men will fail. But those who trust in the Lord will be like Mount Zion that cannot be moved but abide forever (Psa. 125:1-2). In this nation, more than ever, there is the challenge to determine whether the Church of Jesus will have the upper hand or the kingdom of hell will take over. But Jesus emphatically declares, . . . upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it: Matt 16:18. The power and authority over Nigeria in the spiritual realm shall not be determined from the pit of hell but from the Throne of Grace. Jehovah has decided that the gates of hell will not rule over Nigeria. So no matter how much the enemies of the Church plot against the Body of Christ in Nigeria, they will fail miserably because our help is in the name of the Lord.

Today, I bring a word of assurance to you as an individual, family and nation. The assurance God gives you today is that He will help you. No matter what the situation is, you should have confidence and rest in the help of the Lord. People might be apprehensive and not take major steps because of fear created by events in the nation. But I want you to take giant steps and make landmark achievements this year, being fully assured that you have help from the Lord. Y our prosperity is sure by the help of the Lord, do not fear; your defence and security is also in the name of the Lord. This is the time to prosper and increase. Don't throw in the towel. Don't sell off your business, work, property or close down your life. This is the season of help and you will wax great by the help of the Lord, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* T ell the devil to take his violet hands off the nation and people of Nigeria.
* Rebuke every blood thirsty spirit over Nigeria, you and your family.
* Pray against any violent attack on the Church of Jesus in Northern Nigeria.
* Prophesy triumph by the help of the Lord over your life.

Key to Immediate Help

Monday 2 February
Text: Matt. 7:7 - 8
MORE LESSON: Mark 10: 46- 52

Most of us are familiar with the story of Blind Bartimaeus. Jesus is passing through Jericho and Bartimaeus gets His attention and is brought to Him. Bartimaeus is conspicuously blind as he stands in front of Jesus. Y et Jesus asks, ...what do you want Me to do for you? Mark 10:51.

Does Jesus not see that the man needs sight when He asks what he wants? But the reason He asks is because the principle for accessing help is that you must use your mouth to ask for it. The key to immediate help is your mouth.

Paul and Silas are arrested, beaten and kept in the prison with their hands and legs bound in chains. They are put in the inner chambers of the prison and the gates firmed locked, but the enemy does not tie their mouths. So they break the chains on their hands, feet and even the prison gates by the key of word. The Bible says that they pray and sing praises to God (Acts 16:25) and thereby destroy the chains, locks, gates and the entire prison by the spoken word.
If you need God to give you instant help, you must pray. Anything that makes you to keep quiet about your problem wants to kill you. You must ask for help from the Lord. You also need to speak to people as well; don't die in silence. Use your mouth and seek for counsel.

Use your mouth and ask somebody to pray with you. When I was young in the faith, we had prayer partners that we agreed together in prayer to settle issues. Don't bear the burden alone, look for a burden bearer and always pray together. From Matt 18: 19, we know that if two shall agree concerning anything on earth, God will send help from Heaven. So talk to somebody- use your mouth. Beyond talking to human beings – your pastor, leader or whoever – you must also know how to talk directly to Heaven. There are no middlemen, secretaries or personal assistants that you need to pass through before you access God in Heaven. So make do with His provision of help from above: remember the key is the use of your mouth to ask.

In Matt. 14:29–30, Peter walks on water, and begins to sink with Jesus in front of him. He doesn't assume that Jesus knows he needs help. He shouts for help even though he is right in front of Jesus. When he uses his mouth, the Lord also reaches out and helps him. Do not assume that God knows what you are going through, and will act. An assumption is not a request; you have to say what you want the Lord to do for you. The key to your help begins with your mouth, use it to pray from today.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to help you in the place of prayer, especially in difficult times.
* Declare that your access to Heaven will never be shut.
* Ask God for speedy result in the place of prayer.
* Give thanks to God for being the God that answers prayer.

If it has not been by the Lord

Sunday 1 February
Text: Psa. 124:1-8
MORE LESSON: Lam.3:22-23

I want you to learn to be grateful to God in all situations. The only thing that cannot be wrongly said in any situation is 'thank you'. There is no condition where you say 'thank you' to God and you would have said a wrong thing. One revelation you need to have that will enable you give God thanks in every situation is that; It is because of the Lord's mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. Lam 3:22 (AMP).

The enemy doesn't want any good thing to happen to you. So whenever something happens to make you glad –whether achievements, promotions, blessings or favours - remember they only happen because the Lord is on your side. And even when some things happen and it looks like they are not good, I want to categorically state to you that the intention of the enemy was for it to be worse than that; the enemy wanted to destroy you totally but God didn't hand you over to the intentions of evil men, If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us .Psa. 124:2-3. we should always thank God for not giving us over to the intentions of the enemies to be a prey in their hands. Y our being alive today is an indication that the enemy could not perform the evil plot that they conceived against you (Psa. 21:11).

The Lord is on your side so you should have joy no matter what happens today because there is hope and assurance for tomorrow. I want you to be deliberate about celebrating the fact that the Lord is on your side; when you proclaim and magnify the fact that the Lord is on your side, your faith will rise and your enemies and contrary situations will become weak. Then the snares of the fowler will be broken and you will escape (verse 7). When you realise and give thanks to God for been on your side despite the situation, even whatever little the enemy was able to do would be destroyed and you will totally escape and be free. The enemy could not perform their whole intentions because the Lord has been on our side. But as you give God thanks for being on your side, whatever work the enemy has done in the past will be destroyed and you would be totally free.

Finally because the Lord is on your side, I want you to know that there is help for you in all situations. (Verse 8).

Prayer/Action
* Lift your hands and give thanks to God for His mercy, favour, kindness and faithfulness.
* Thank Him for being a great God, greater than your pains and errors.
* Say with me “father, I appreciate your fatherhood over me and I will praise you all my life”
