The Law of Demand and Supply I
Thursday,
24 October
Give, and it shall be given unto
you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall
men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it
shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38
SCRIPTURE
FOR TODAY: Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good
measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give
into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be
measured to you again.

LESSON:
Matthew 25:29 For
unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from
him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
God is all-sufficient. He is called the
El-Shaddai, which means the multi breasted One. Breast milk is the primary
source of nourishment for babies as contains all that the baby needs within the
first six months of life. Just like the breast milk, God, the multi breasted
One, also has all that His children need.
A nursing mother increases her supply of
milk by nursing the baby constantly. In other words, the more the baby sucks,
the more milk is produced. Conversely, the less a mother nurses her baby, the
less milk she would produce. This is similar to the law of demand and supply
which states that the more the demand for a product, the more the quantity
supplied; the less the demand, the less the quantity supplied. So, for the
mother to sustain and increase her supply, she must keep nursing her baby.
Let us assume God to be a nursing mother
and every child in the world sucking from Him, you can imagine that the more
everyone takes from Him, the more His supply. This is to say that, even if God
were to give every human being on earth all that they would ever need in life,
He will not even know that anything has left His treasury. His resources can
never be depleted because of this simple principle.
God uses this concept to teach us on the
subject of giving, which is the more we give, the more we will have, as King
Solomon affirmed in Proverbs 11:24, There is that scattereth, and yet
increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to
poverty. So, we tap in to the El-Shaddai dimension of God through the
ministry of giving and receiving. When God wants you to have more, He creates
an opportunity for you to give more. This is why both the bread and seed come
from Him.
Every blessing of God in your life has two
components, the bread and the seed. The bread satisfies your immediate need
while the seed sustains the dimension of blessing in your life; it is for your
multiplication. So, if you have ever tasted of God's blessing and it looks like
it was a once and for all thing, what this means is that you ate the seed
alongside the bread. Any seed you sow ensures that the supply is sustained. God
is a God of systems and the system for sustaining His blessing in our lives is
through the law of seed time and harvest. So, if you desire to change your
level, ask God the Giver of seed to give you the seed that gives you access to
the dimension of sustained flow of blessing.
Prayer/Action
* Receive grace never to withhold what is meant to be given out.
* Ask the Lord for seed that will lead you into greater dimensions of blessing.
* Pray that God will bless all the seeds that you sow.
TODAY’S PROPHETIC PRAYER: Father, by the power of Your Spirit, I command every mountain of October to become a step stone to glory for me today, in the unstoppable name of Jesus.
