STRENGTH FOR MY DAYS
A Daily Devotional by Bishop David
The Law of Demand and Supply II
Friday,
25 October
Give, and it shall be given unto
you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall
men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it
shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY: Matthew 25:14-30 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. 16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. 17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. 20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. 30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

LESSON:
John 3:16 For God
so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
When God wants to bless a man, He creates
an opportunity for him to give. So the more the demand on what you have, the
more the supply of God is opened to you and like God, you step into the
dimension of always having in all sufficiency as you keep abounding in every
good work. A time comes when it looks like there is nothing you do not have or
cannot give. The truth is that you access more of God when you are always
willing to release back to Him whatever He gives you. In other words, the more
easily it is for God to access His resources in your hand, the more easily you
will access His resources.
Some people are given periodic access to
God's store house, but there are others who are the store keepers because they
have the key to the store house and they can unlock it at will. The difference
between the two is their willingness to release the resources of Heaven in
their care so that the Father's will can be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Man is just a steward of all that is on the earth. According to King David in
Psalm 24:1, everything belongs to God, The earth is the LORD'S, and the
fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
A faithful steward ensures that his
master's goods are safe and that he makes profit. No one makes profit by
holding on to what he has; profit comes by investing (giving). So, God expects
that you will multiply His blessings in your life by sowing the seed component
of the blessing. This was what earned the other servants in today's text the
commendation of their master. The unfaithful servant on the other hand hid the
talent and as such, even though it was not lost, the master lost the profit
that would have accrued to him had he sown it. God is bound by His principles;
so, you must abide by them to move His hand in your favour. Do not make God run
at a loss, invest that which He has committed into your hand. This is the only
way you can multiply His blessing in your life and remain relevant in His
Kingdom.
A river is ever fresh because it
continuously flows. The day it stops flowing, it becomes stale and poisonous to
life. God is so fair that at every point, everyone has something to offer. Your
seeds is not just money, there is a large variety of seeds, and every seed
produces according to its kind. If you desire a financial blessing, then you
should sow a financial seed. If you desire lifting, sow honour. If you desire
friends and quality relationships, you must first be friendly and if you desire
power, keep the fire on your altar burning through prayer and the Word. So,
depending on the blessing you desire, you must know what seed to sow, then ask
the Giver of seed to give you.
Prayer/Action
* Pray that you will never miss an opportunity to sow on fertile ground.
* Command every hidden talent in your life to manifest now.
* Receive wisdom to sow the right seed for a mighty harvest
