Worship the King II

Monday 31 October
READ: Acts 1: 12 -15
MORE LESSON: John 2: 5

Only Jesus, the King of kings, deserves our worship. Only Jesus can save and only Jesus should be worshipped. No saint, apostle or prophet should be worshipped; not even the disciples of Jesus, His father or His mother. The worship of any other than Jesus is idolatry, no matter how closely related the person is to Him. If the worship is not to Jesus, it is unacceptable.
The mother of Jesus was a worshipper of Jesus. She, like every other person, received salvation and baptism of the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ. When the disciples gathered in the upper room, praying and worshipping Jesus, Mary the mother of Jesus was there. She was a believer in the Lordship of Jesus. She didn't see Him as her son anymore; she knew that He was God in the flesh who died, rose again and is now seated at the right hand of the Majesty on High for the remission of the sin of the whole world, including hers. Mary believed and was saved.
Culturally, the mother of a king is under the lordship of the king. This is what Mary understood when some people needed a miracle and came to her. She quickly directed them to Jesus and advised them to do whatever Jesus told them to do. She knew that she couldn't give them a miracle; only Jesus could (John 2: 5 – 9).
I remember that before my mother went to be with the Lord, I was ministering under the unction of the Lord and I was laying hands on all the people in a service. As people passed on the line, I laid hands as quickly as I could without looking at their faces. All of a sudden, I saw the next person kneeling before me and as I laid hands on her head, I discovered in a fleeting moment that it was my mother. I was immediately at a loss how to react as I wondered, 'What have I just done now? My own mother knelt before me and I laid hands on her.' When we got home, I wanted to apologise for laying hands on her head and was questioning why she came and knelt before me. However, I thank God for the height of her spiritual understanding. She laughed and said that she wasn't kneeling before me. She said, 'Son, there is Someone in you that is greater than both you and I. It was that Person I was kneeling before.' From that day, I had an understanding that it is not the person of the king that is the question when it comes to the worship of the king. It is the King in him that is worshipped.
Only Jesus the King deserves the worship. Even the mother of a king bows down to the king because it is not about her son; it is about the King in him.

Prayer/Action
* In the name of Jesus, the King in me shall manifest for the world to see.
* Pray that God will give you the wisdom to know how to revere His Lordship in the life of His servants.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, thank You for being Lord over my October , no one can guarantee life for a second, but You have guaranteed 10 months, Thank You, in the name of Jesus.

Worship the King I

Sunday 30 October
READ: Matt. 2: 11
MORE LESSON: 2 Sam. 6: 21 - 22

The wise men came to the Child Jesus and fell prostrate on the ground in worship. These men were not small both in age and status but they fell prostrate before a child. This shows that when it comes to worshipping God, no man should claim age, wealth or academic qualification. All these should be put aside for the worship of the King.
I can relate to this from experience as my maternal uncle was a prominent king and I remember that on the day of his coronation, all the children and younger siblings of the king were called and were educated on the importance of the new role and status that we were about to assume. From that experience, I learnt a few things on the honour of a king.
1. The king never bows to anyone but all bow to him. I noticed to my surprise that even when the mother of the king came to greet him, the king merely brandished the horse tail that he was holding in his hand to her. I expected the king would prostrate to greet his mother as is the custom in the Western part of Nigeria. In Africa, especially in my native region, when you meet an elderly person, you prostrate in honour, more so when you greet your parents; you simply go on the floor. However, for the king, his mother kneels before him and he waves the royal emblem to acknowledge her greeting. You can't worship the mother of the King; you only worship the King. Even the mother of the king worships the king.
2. The king ordains some chiefs and many of them are elderly people. In fact, in the case of my uncle there was a particular elderly woman that was ordained into the official position of the 'mother of the king'. However even though these men were all chiefs, they all, including the said 'mother of the king' bowed to the king. The fact that God called a man and ordained him doesn't mean he should stand tall as others worship the king. We must all lie prostrate before the King.
3. In my culture, you prostrate before an elderly person. However, when you want to greet the king, you don't only put your two hands on the ground and your chest on the floor, you also turn from one side to the other as you roll on the ground before the king. While you do all the rolling, the king merely sits, nods and waves his horse tail at you. It is all about willingly throwing away your self-dignity as you acknowledge the king's higher dignity. King David understood this in 2 Sam. 6: 22 when he chose to become undignified before God –the King of kings.
Beloved, it is time to worship the King of kings.

Prayer/Action
* Declare as you bow to the King of kings that every situation will bow to you today, in Jesus’ name.
* Worship the King because His dominion is an everlasting dominion.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Any battle packaged against me to delay my God-ordained blessing and breakthrough be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.

Clash of Kings

Saturday 29 October
READ: Mark 5: 1-17
MORE LESSON: 1 John 4: 4

There was a mad man in the region of Gadarenes. The man was in such a bad shape that people stayed as far as they could from him. Whenever the madness got a thorough hold of him and nobody was present for him to destroy, he would begin to inflict damage on himself. Even when he was chained, he would break the chains and take stones to cut himself. The mad man was ruled by very principal demons which had turned him also into a principality. He was a ruler in his own kingdom. How else do you explain a man living all by himself in the grave yard, far from men and society? The demonic forces that ruled the man were so many that they described themselves as legion. This army of darkness turned the man to a king of terror as he did whatever he liked and nobody dared to go near him. No police man or soldier could arrest him, no king could command him. He was king of his own kingdom; a kingdom no one else wanted to be in with him. Jesus went visiting this region and deliberately walked this path that nobody dared to walk.
Of course, Jesus is also King in His own Kingdom. So when Jesus showed up at the grave yard that day, there was a clash of kings and kingdoms. The king in the cemetery saw the King of kings and without contradiction, the lesser king had to bow to the greater King. The disciples and all who were present must have stood holding their breath as they watched what would happen. The man walked towards Jesus and Jesus walked towards him. The spectators were already premeditating on what to do if the man pounced on Jesus, messed Him up and then approached them. The onlookers stood in fear as they pondered whether that was going to be the end to Jesus' life and ministry.
As the two approached each other, suddenly the mad man recognised the greater King and fell prostrate on the ground and bowed down before Him. The Bible says that he worshipped Him (Mark 5: 6). The legion of demons that ruled this man recognised the greater King in Jesus. This confirms Jesus as King as the mad man and all the demons in him bowed and worshipped Him. The onlookers stood in awe as they realised that truly Jesus is not a mere man; He is the King of kings. The demons began to beg Him to send them out into the swine and not into the desert. The same demons in the mad man that would listen to none, submitted and begged Jesus. When He commanded them to go out of the man, they ran out as quickly as they could. The Real King had shown up, all other kings must bow.

Prayer/Action
* In the name of Jesus, every throne and king contending over my life, I command you to bow to the Lordship of Jesus.
* Jesus, rise as King for me and prevail over every kingdom that has risen up against me.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Every evil embargo to limit my destiny in 2016, be lifted now, in the name of Jesus.

Persistence

Friday 28 October
READ: Matt. 15: 22-28
MORE LESSON: Lk. 11: 5-10

The story of the Canaanite woman shows how you can get anything through persistence.
She needed healing for her daughter at a time when the era of ministering to the Gentiles had not come. She could have claimed that Jesus was not going to heal her daughter because she was a Gentile but she neglected the barriers and cried to the Lord, 'Have mercy on me.' She knew that the Lord is merciful and always willing to help. I want you to know that it is God's will to meet that pressing need you have if you do not give up.
This woman cried to Jesus, O Lord, thou Son of David...: verse 22. She acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah. When many Israelites who were the children of the promise didn't believe and accept Jesus as the Messiah, she already knew Him as the Messiah, the only One who had answer to her prayer.
You will persist with God only when you believe that He alone holds your answer and solution.
She cried to the Lord but the Lord didn't answer a word; she wasn't deterred but kept crying after Jesus and the disciples. The disciples wanted to send her away and probably tried to but she refused to be sent away. So the disciples begged Jesus to send her away or do something, for she crieth after us: Matt 15:23. They had to report her to Jesus and that is what she actually wanted; she wanted audience with the Master. When she got the attention, the first thing she did was to worship Him (verse 25).
Your persistence should not only be in asking the Lord but also in worshipping Him. Don't stop worshipping the Lord because you have not got what you want from Him. In fact that is the time to worship Him more. Jesus told her, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs: Matt 15:26. This is where many people would have packed their bags and left in anger but this woman knew that it takes humility to be persistent. Jesus was not being derogatory here, He was testing her humility in persistence. It takes humility for a man to go back to a place where he has failed before and start all over again, not minding whether people will mock him or not.
When she said, ...Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table, Jesus knew she had passed the test of persistence and He answered, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt....
Persistence was counted as faith to her; you shall acquire your desire if you perspire and do not retire but re-fire. Sincere seekers who truly have no alternative to Jehovah will not dare to walk away even in the face of the worst delay. Friend, difficult as it is to wait, it pays to wait on God, He will not deny you. Wait on the Lord!

Prayer/Action
* Lord, I receive strength to persist in the place of prayer.
* Pray that everyone waiting on God for one thing or the other will have their strength renewed until answer comes.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Today I prophesy, any grave, evil net, and trap set for me and my family, catch the planners, in Jesus' name.

King over Death

Thursday 27 October
READ: John 11:25 - 44
MORE LESSON: John 10:17-18

Jesus is King not just because He has power over nature and demons but also because He has power even over death. Jesus raised the dead several times. It is always a big deal to resuscitate someone who fainted and it is definitely something great to raise someone who has stopped breathing for 24 hours. However when you talk about someone who has been dead for four days, clothed with grave clothes and buried in a sealed grave, then you are talking of a really dead man. Lazarus was dead for days and the Bible records that he was already stinking; that means that he had started decomposing. Jesus got to the grave and called him, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go: John 11:43-44. Someone commented that Jesus needed to confirm that the name of the man He wanted to raise from the dead was Lazarus, because if He had merely said 'come out', all the dead people in the graves would rise up and come out. Jesus is King even over death. At the word of His command, death released its captive. Death therefore recognises that Jesus is King.
Jesus did not only raise the dead but He Himself disgraced death. He laid down His life and died on the cross and on the third day, He rose from the dead. He didn't raise others from the dead only to later become a captive of death. He could do for Himself what He did for others. If Jesus did not resurrect from the dead, one would wonder whether His Kingship extends over death. He showed His Kingship by messing up death. He defeated death home and away. This is what the Bible means when it says, if the prince of this world had known, they would not have crucified the king of glory: 1 Cor. 2:8. If death knew, it wouldn't have dared Jesus.
Do you know that Jesus actually became greater after His death and resurrection? In John 20:26, the Bible shows how while the disciples locked themselves up for fear of the Pharisees, without knocking the door, Jesus showed up in their midst. What shocked them was that when they were together and the door was locked, they had to open it for Him. This time around, the door was firmly locked and there was Jesus standing in their midst. After His death and resurrection, His form of a Spirit, He passed through walls and appeared to many people in different locations at once. The death and resurrection of Jesus actually released His Spirit to operate at a higher frequency. It is that Spirit that is in you so you can also reign over death. Hallejah! Jesus is king. The greatest terror to man is death and he will do anything to stop it but no one has been able to conquer it until Jesus did! Praise be to my King, the Conqueror of death.

Prayer/Action
* Give God praise because Jesus has swallowed up the sting and victory of death.
* Declare that death and grave have lost their power over you, in Jesus’ name.

Doing More

Wednesday 26 October
READ: Phil. 3:13-14
MORE LESSON: Exo. 14: 15-22

As people of faith, we know that with God all things are possible (Mk 10:27). The spirit that believes that all things are possible is the spirit of moving forward. It is only a person with an all-possibility mentality that can move forward. When you believe that all things are possible, you do not believe in going back, retreating, stagnation or idleness.
It is time to move forward. You must move forward, alongside with your family, work and environment; everything about you must move forward. Do not be satisfied with remaining the same. In Exo. 14: 15, moving forward was a command to the Israelites. It was a decree from the Spirit and the operation of the Holy Spirit in your life in this season should be the spirit of progress, the spirit of doing better, the spirit of achieving more, the spirit of having more. You should move forward in health, strength, wealth, impact and achievement. God told His people to move forward and Phil. 3: 14 talks about pressing forward. When it seems that movement is not forthcoming on its own, don't stay at one place; rather, press forward. One of the ways you can get everything you want faster than you thought is by pressing on.
Pressing indicates applying more force; It is about becoming more intentional. Don't do things for doing sake; do things deliberately to get results. This is what it means by pressing forward. By pressing, you get what you want sooner and faster. You have to demand more from yourself in life. You have to become a little harder on yourself so as to get to where you desire. Most times, we love to demand more from other people and less from ourselves. You want people to give you more money, you want the teacher to give you more marks, the government to give you more pay. People who make real progress are people who place a higher demand on themselves and not people who go around demanding and expecting more from other people. Place more demand upon the grace of God upon your life. Demand more from the anointing of the Holy Ghost upon your life. Demand more from God, demand more from yourself. Demand on your energy and capability to produce more than you have now. It is by so doing that you are pressing. The spirit of pressing forward is at work; it is making you to do more. So go and apply more force.
The promises of God are already waiting for you to make a move, locate them and key into them, they can not fail. They are the fertilizers that boost your move, if only you can decide to move. Here is one of such (Psa.1:2-3).

Prayer/Action
* Lord, increase my greatness and make me a thousand times more, in Jesus’ name.
* I shall not be complacent, lazy or indifferent in my duty and pursuit of excellence.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
I command all demonically organised networks against my spiritual wellbeing to be nullified now, in the name of Jesus.

The King's Word II

Tuesday 25 October
READ: Mark 4: 36 -39.NLT
MORE LESSON: Lk. 10:18-19

The evidence of kingship is power. Eccl. 8: 4 says that where the word of a king is, there is power. The sign of kingship is dominion. If we must live as kings we must understand that situations and circumstances are not meant to rule us but we are to rule them. A king rules by the words of his mouth. Jesus showed us how to rule by living the life of a king as an example for us.
In Mark 4:39, Jesus demonstrated the kingly life for us to see. He was in a ship and the waves arose threatening everyone in the ship. The disciples that were in the ship with Him had started to panick and fear for their lives. The Bible makes very clear the life of a king, When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the water, "Silence! Be still!" Mark 4: 39 (NLT). Jesus demonstrated His Kingship over nature by the display of His authority; He commanded the waves to be still. The king doesn't panic in crisis, he speaks calm to the storm. When Jesus spoke like a king to the storm, the Bible says that suddenly the wind stopped; that was the storm that had been proving strong and threatening everyone. However, at one word from the King, order was restored.
It is the same power you have as a king. Jesus said, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you: Luke 10:19. You have power to rule over demons, sickness, situations and circumstances. This power is exercised by words; you should speak like a king. When you study the life of Jesus our King who we are called to be like; He ruled the world by His words. The Bible says, God hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: Heb 1:2-3. God made the world by His Word, He sustains the world by His Word and He rules the world by His Word. It is time for you to start ruling as well. Do not speak words of weakness, fear and lack. Speak words of dominion, power and kingship. It is your turn to rule.

Prayer/Action
* Lord, my life shall not lack Your power, in the mighty name of Jesus.
* By the authority of Christ I command sickness, demons, afflictions to bow before me today, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
I proclaim according to God's promises, this year, the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon my life and I shall not put forth my hand into iniquity, in the name of Jesus.

The King's Word I

Monday 24 October
READ: Dan. 6: 12 -28
MORE LESSON: Eccl. 8: 4

Eccl. 8: 3 – 4 says ...for the king can do whatever he wants. His command is backed by great power. No one can resist or question it. A king is sovereign; his words don't fall to the ground. A king is practically worshipped, and when he declares a thing, it happens. The word “Kabiesi” is one of the appellations for the king in the Western part of Nigeria, which simply means the one who no man can question. When a king talks or acts, he is unquestionable. His action doesn't have to be right or wrong before it stands permanently.
Right or wrong, it stands because the king has spoken. In those days, great power was attributed to the office of a king. In those days, a king could simply see a lady that was pleasing to his eyes and command that she should be taken into his palace as his wife. He didn't care whose wife or daughter she was. He would simply put his feet to the ground and declare that she was his from that time onward and there was nothing any man could do about it. Such an act would be a criminal act in contemporary times but when kings were kings, it was in the right of the king to have whatever he said performed without any question.
Daniel was in the kingdom of the Persian and Medes and the king was misled into giving an instruction that affected Daniel negatively. The king didn't mean Daniel any harm but his enemies plotted against him and made the king to sign a decree that would trap Daniel. They requested that the king should sign a law that no one should pray to any other God except the king for thirty days and anybody that did would be thrown into the lions’ den. The Bible says as soon as Daniel knew that the king had signed the decree, he opened the door and windows of his house, faced Jerusalem and began to call on the name of the Lord. Daniel didn't obey the king's command when it was contrary to the command of God – the Eternal King. The enemies took Daniel to the king and demanded that he should be punished according to the decree of the king. It is astonishing that even the king couldn't go against his decree. The king's word was so powerful and binding on everyone, including himself.
When we say that Jesus is the King of Heaven and earth, the full import of it should be striking. Isaiah 9:6 says, ...the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Jesus is King. All power and authority of the king is in Jesus. His words are full of power.

Prayer/Action
* Jesus the King, let Your Word which You have spoken stand in my destiny, in Jesus’ name.
* Jesus, let the authority of a king back up my words from today in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, Your Word says my place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks, that my bread shall be given me and my water shall not be scarce (Isa. 3:16), this I receive today, in Jesus' name.

The Word of Authority

Sunday 23 October
READ: Mark 11:19 - 21
MORE LESSON: Matt. 24:35

Jesus was walking one day and He was hungry. He got to a fig tree, expecting to get something to eat and there was none, He looked at the tree and cursed it. The next morning, when they were passing by, Peter, one of the apostles, called their attention to the fact that the tree that Jesus spoke against the previous day had quickly dried up. The Bible puts it this way, Peter calling to remembrance said unto Him, master, behold the tree which thou curseth is weathered away. Jesus was not the one who called on them to say, 'Look at the tree I cursed yesterday, it has dried up'. It was normal to Him to have what He says to be obeyed. It wasn't spectacular to Him that His Word had been fulfilled. So He didn't need to call people's attention to see what He had done.
Even if a tree is cut down with an axe, it wouldn't dry up before the next day. The tree that Jesus spoke to dried up in less than 12 hours. That's the power of the King's Word; the word of His authority is backed by the force of Heaven. The potency of the Word of God is such that things and situations respond to it instantly. Any man that is full of the Word of God becomes a threat to the kingdom of darkness. It is a weapon that no demon or power on earth or beneath the earth can withstand. Heaven and earth respond to the Word of God. It is the only weapon that is eternal, Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away: Matt. 24:35. When your situation has defied every solution, apply the Word. It has never failed and it will never fail.
You must know how to release the word of authority. The authority that Jesus had when He spoke to the tree has been given to you. Speak authoritatively to your situations and watch the miracle that God will do as He turns your terrible situation to a testimony. For you to be able to speak the word of authority, you must first be filled with the Word of God on the inside. It is what is inside that determines what comes out. Jesus could speak with authority because He is the Word Himself. It is the Word of God inside you that makes you become a person who is filled with words of authority.

Prayer/Action
* Command every planting of the enemy in your life to dry up now, in Jesus’ name.
* Speak by the word of authority, progress, advancement, success, healing to your life.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Every wall of delay and frustration standing between me and my Rehoboth, like the wall of Jericho, collapse now, in the name of Jesus.

Succeeding in your Career II

Saturday 22 October
READ: Dan 2: 14 - 28, 46 - 49
MORE LESSON: Eph. 4:24-28

Failure is not your heritage. Poverty and failure are not your kin as long as you are in Christ. It is important for Christians to succeed, especially in their careers, so that the glory of the Lord will be displayed in their lives at the workplace where they have the greatest contact with unbelievers. The unbelievers may not be in Church to see the great things God is doing but they will confess the greatness of God when they see the great things He is achieving through you in the workplace and you give the credit to Him without claiming that it is your expertise that is working for you,
Daniel was a member of the parliament in the Chaldean Kingdom under King Nebuchadnezzar. The king had a dream and he wanted his wise men to tell him the dream and its interpretation. He added that if they didn't they would all be killed. It was a humanly impossible task, to tell another man what he dreamt. All the magicians, astrologers, senators and special advisers in Babylon were helpless as the king commanded that all should be executed. Daniel and his friends however sought the Lord and unlocked the mystery that no other person in the kingdom could. The Holy Spirit revealed the mystery to Daniel in a vision. You can engage the Holy Spirit for excellence and success in your career. Operating the gifts of the Spirit should not be limited to church; you can excel in your career through the working of the Holy Spirit in you. Your knowledge of what God has prepared for you in your profession determines how much you will succeed in it. Your knowledge of God is important even to your career and professional life.
Daniel had friends with whom he prayed and worked. Many fail in their career because of evil company. The Bible says, He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed: Prov 13:20. Stop moving with people who are not going anywhere. If you will be a success in life, you must walk with people that are making it.
People sometimes struggle in their work and career because they are operating under curses. A curse is a powerful word that is invoked to ensure that a man doesn't do well. Curses are supervised and enforced by demonic power. Engage the power of the name of Jesus to break every curse over your life. Also pay your tithes consistently to ensure that you do not bring a curse on yourself.
The following additional points should be noted on your way to success:
1. Work hard (Prov. 22:29).
2. Always add value to yourself (2 Pet. 1: 5 -8).
3. Develop a great vision and dreams for your life.
4. Stay connected to your God (2 Chron. 26:5).

Prayer/Action
* Father, let greater wisdom for greater exploits than what was manifested by Daniel in Babylon manifest in my life, in Jesus’ name.
* The company of people I need to attain success in all areas shall locate me, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
My Father, my Father, by the reason of Your power, I shall not run from battle, I shall win over every battle, in the name of Jesus.

Succeeding in your Career I

Friday 21 October
READ: Psa. 16: 6- 8
MORE LESSON: Josh. 1: 8

If you ever want to reach your goal in destiny, you must locate God's appointed place for your destiny. It is at God's appointed place for you that you can be sure of a successful ending irrespective of the challenges that come your way. God has a calling and assignment for you. Even in your career, there is a particular place that God has for your destiny. Do not just choose a career because everybody likes it or it is popular in the esteem of men. Ask God before you make a decision for a career path.
Many men fail because they are not where God appointed unto them. You should not go into any course of study or career path because somebody said it is lucrative. You may struggle in a lucrative career if it is not God's design for your life. You must discover God’s pathway for your life and pursue it. When you do so, you will have result and make progress in life. The good news today is that even if you had made mistakes in the past by taking a path without asking God, the Lord can still correct the past and bring you to a desired end.
Following God’s pathway for you in your career will make you fulfilled and experience prosperity. Do not just move around from place to place and job to job because of increased financial benefit. As good as higher salaries and allowances are, your destiny should revolve around God's location for God's purpose. When you stay in your divine location, fulfilling divine purpose in your work or career, every benefit will eventually locate you.
However, it is expedient to know that staying in God's location doesn't mean staying somewhere doing nothing. You can be where God has designed you to be and be a failure because you are lazy. Laziness is not part of God's nature and a lazy man is headed for failure. Even in the right place, you must work hard. God's provision is in His location but we know that a man can have food in the house and be hungry if he is too lazy to cook. Success is not by partying and fun; it demands hard work.
Another major cause of failure is ignorance. People fail because they are ignorant or disobedient to God's principle of success. There are keys that open the treasure of God to you in your work, business and career. You need knowledge to take your place. According to Josh. 1: 8, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Remember, divine location, hard work, prayer and godly living are keys to a successful career. Check which one you need to get.

Prayer/Action
* Father, make me a symbol of excellence at work, in school and in church, in Jesus’ name.
* Lord, crown my effort with great success and make me an example of excellence in all that I do, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
I prophesy, my hope and expectation in 2016 shall not be dashed, in the name of Jesus.

Valuing the Word of God

Thursday 20 October
READ: Mark 6: 1-6
MORE LESSON: Matt. 13: 13 – 17

It is a very dangerous thing to become too familiar with the Word of God because then it loses its potency in your life. Many people stay in church year after year and attend meeting after meeting but they get nothing out of it because they do not take the Word serious. It is not that the Word of God has lost its power; it is that such people take it lightly. God gives His Word and teachings and some just accumulate revelations and they never put them to use; when you put so many bulbs in one place and you do not allow the light to express itself through any outlet, it becomes blinding. That is what has happened to many Christians who have become blinded by many revelations and their lives lack the reality of the Word because they never put it to use; they only keep accumulating head knowledge.
Many ministers of the gospel have noticed that the same teachings and declarations that they proclaim to their congregations without results bring amazing results and testimonies when they go out. It is risky to get so used to God's servants that you make light of what they say. This is one of the reasons destinies are remoulded, people promoted and lives changed and it looks as if some are being left out. The best thing you can do for your destiny is to always take the Word of God and His servants with maximum esteem.
God Himself walked the earth and touched many lives but there were those who didn't benefit from Him because they made light of Jesus Christ saying, Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at Him: Mark 6:3. He came and saved people from their sins but some people are still waiting for the Messiah up till today; they missed their hour of visitation because of familiarity.
Today, I have come to charge you to hold each word that comes from the Lord with great esteem; whether the word comes through His servants or in your personal study, celebrate it and honour it, For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them: Matt. 13: 17. It is your time for a positive change as you honour God's Word and go out to put it to use.

Prayer/Action
* Lord, I shall not take Your Word lightly and it shall not lose its potency in my life.
* The Word of the Lord shall profit my life, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
This year, my enemy shall wait in vain, in the name of Jesus.

The Extra Oil II

Wednesday 19 October
READ: Matt. 25: 1-13
MORE LESSON: Eccl. 9:8

I remember conducting a wedding in one of our churches and the bride delayed for so long. She was probably taking all the time to dress up. After a while, I told them to start the service and it started. The order of the service continued and this lady was still nowhere to be found. Close to the time allotted to the actual joining and exchange of marital vows, the lady arrived outside and sent to the ministerial seat that the processional hymn be sung for her to enter majestically with her train. I sent back to inform her that she should gather the flowing gown in her hands and run straight to the altar if she is still interested in the joining. She should come or else we would skip that item and close the service. Of course, she rushed and she sat quietly down beside her husband who had been troubled waiting.
I called them to the altar to be joined, she looked at my face and broke down in tears. It is not pleasant to see a bride being joined while crying, so I allowed her to finish all the crying. In fact, I was prepared to wait and allow her cry, finish crying, do her make-up and regain her composure before I continued the actual joining. However, she and everyone in that service had learnt the lesson that a wedding service before God should be approached with reverence. It is not a day to keep God and man waiting while you take all the time to dress and make up. I also discovered that the wedding day is a terrible day for a bride to cry.
In Matt. 25: 1-13, we also see five ladies that wept bitterly on their wedding day. Theirs was more terrible because their tears would last for eternity. The reason was that they were not prepared for the bridegroom and were careless about eternal things while they focused on less important things. Jesus is coming back and since we do not know the day of His arrival, it is imperative not be careless with the things of God. If any man misses the coming of the Lord, there will be no opportunity to reverse the damage. The five virgins who cried on their wedding day did so because they didn't have extra oil in their lamps.
The extra oil means going an extra mile in the things of God. The difference between the wise and the foolish virgins was the extra oil. It is the extra you do for God that stands for you and makes you an uncommon man in common situations. The coming of the Lord is so close you can't leave anything to chance. God is not only demanding your all, but the extra mile also. In all you do for God, go the extra mile, it shall not go unrewarded.

Prayer/Action
* Surrender your life to God afresh today.
* Receive grace to be faithful to the end, in Jesus’ name.
* Ask God for grace to be able to warn others about Heaven and hell today, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Anything in me, spiritual or physical, attracting strange occurrences to my life or family, be exposed today, in Jesus' name.

The Extra Oil I

Tuesday 18 October
READ: Matt. 25:1-6
MORE LESSON: Rev. 22: 12

Jesus told a parable, using it to describe what His coming will look like. He said there were ten virgins - five were wise and five were foolish. Both the wise and the foolish were waiting for the coming of the bridegroom in the night. The wise five took extra oil in addition to what was inside their lanterns. The foolish five took their lanterns, put oil inside and forecast that it was enough. However the bridegroom delayed and all the oil burnt out.
Eventually the bridegroom came in the dead of the night and all the virgins got up to go and receive him. All their oil had burnt out but the ones that had extra oil, had something to pour into the lamps afresh and therefore met the bridegroom with their lamps still burning. The other five who had no extra oil had their lights gone off. They couldn't meet the bridegroom with lights gone off, so they quickly went to look for oil. But before they returned, the bridegroom had entered in with the ready five and locked the door. Afterwards, came also the other virgins saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not: Matt. 25: 11-12. Definitely, it is a painful thing for a bride to be told by the bridegroom that he doesn't know her. How can a woman come to be wedded only to be told by her bridegroom that he does not know her? The bridegroom said to the five foolish virgins, I don't know you, and they were locked out forever. They left home fully dressed for a wedding but never returned home with a husband. And I want to say to you that there is a great day coming. Jesus, the Bridegroom of the Church, is on the way. The five virgins that had extra oil were prepared.
All the ten were virgins, which means they were saved but some were prepared while the others were not. The issue of going with the Lord when He comes is the issue of preparedness. I want to ask you whether you are busy with the mundane affairs of life or you are living in preparation for His coming. You need the extra oil; you need more zeal than you have ever displayed. You need more attention to the things of God. You need more consciousness that the end is near and live with that consciousness. In a short while, the sound of the trumpet shall be heard and the Bridegroom will come. Only the people with the extra oil and lamps still burning bright will go with Him.

Prayer/Action
* Receive power to be conscious of the end time, in Jesus’ name.
* Pray that the negative prophecy of the end time will not be fulfilled on you, in Jesus’ name.
* Pray that God will help you to proclaim the goodnews in this end time, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, this month, do for me what I cannot do for myself, fight my battles and grant me victory, in the name of Jesus.

The Earth is the Lord’s

Monday 17 October
READ: Psa. 24: 1 - 2
MORE LESSON: Psa. 115: 15 - 16

The Bible says in Gen 1: 1 that God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning. This silences the scientific theory of evolution which submits that the earth came to be as a result of a big bang. The earth belongs to God and He is the Owner of everything. If God owns everything by the right of creation then He is the only Land-Lord. Everyone else is a care taker; even the landlords that collect rent from others are not lords after all. Even our house landlords are tenants on the earth. Jehovah is the only Land-Lord because the earth belongs to Him.
Everyone should live with a mindset of stewardship. This means that you treat everything you possess on earth like they were committed to your trust by God. You were given to take care of them as a steward and you will give account of everything that you have on earth. It is important to know that no matter how much you labour for things on earth; they will never become your own. You can only be given in trust to manage them for a while. Materialism has so much taken over the world that all people think about is how to own things and own more things. Acquire all you can, however do not forget the real truth that it is not yours. The real Owner can still take it any day. The mistake the rich fool in the Bible made is not that he was rich, it was that he didn't have the mindset that both he and his riches belonged to God (Luke 12:13-21). It is good to be rich but the rich should have a mindset that recognises that all that they have belongs to God. The poor should also know that all things belong to God and He is rich towards all (Rom. 10: 12). If everything belongs to God, why does a child of God live with a sense of lack? The entire earth belongs to your God, so live without a sense of lack. Do not believe that everything is difficult and there are no resources available to you. The whole earth belongs to your God.
All men should learn to honour the God of all the universe who is the Owner of everything. Be conscious that no one brought anything into the world and no one will take anything away. The best thing to do is to connect to the Owner of all things by giving your life into the hands of He that owns the universe. When you become a child of the Owner of Heaven and earth, then you become a part-owner, a joint heir with Him. You are blessed, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Thank You Lord for making everything beautiful for me.
* Lord, because You own the world, let everything work together for my good.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
I set confusion in my enemies camp this week and I scatter them, in the name of Jesus.

Building a Great Nation

Sunday 16 October
READ: Prov. 14: 34
MORE LESSON: Rom. 12: 2

As I travel around the nations of the world preaching the gospel, I have noticed that everywhere I get to, I see Africans doing great things and making contributions to economic, social and technological development. I have met great people being the best in what they do overseas, only to discover that they were born and raised in my country. Therefore it is not the colour of the skin that determines your capability. God didn't make one race to be superior to another; therefore you can become the best anywhere in the world if you will believe. I know that God created everyone in this nation with the capacity for greatness.
The evil report about our nation and continent in the international media can be changed. The crimes, poverty and evil that have been associated with our world can be corrected if we will change our mindset and belief system. There is need for the minds of the people to be renewed so that we can change our values and precepts as a people and as a nation. There is nothing wrong with the pigmentation of skin or with the geographical location of any race, we only need to change whatever is wrong with the way we think. The principal and most worthy agent of mind renewal is the Word of God. It is the Word that starts building confidence in you and make you know that you are not inferior and whatever anyone is doing you can do as well. The Word is the agent of change that we need in this nation. The Word of God in our hearts will make the difference. Every institution, including government institutions should raise the Word of God to its proper place and we will see that we will be able to build a great nation.
The Word therefore is an instrument of national development. Teaching the Word of God should not be left to the Church. In fact, training children in the Word of God is best done in the family. Each parent should take full responsibility to teach the Word and create a paradigm for change in their children. The government should also realise that the issue of having God's Word being given its rightful place in the system of the society is not about religion. It is an issue that affects the development or lack of it in our nation. Therefore government should know that they have to make laws that favour the Word of God in our system and not against it if we must achieve national greatness and development. Every nation that allows the Word a free flow will never lack development. The rejection of God’s Word is the beginning of all evil in our society and the home should be the beginning of such lessons.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to grant you an unsatisfiable appetite for His Word, in Jesus’ name.
* Grant our nation the grace to be righteous, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Any power that wants me to suffer for an offence I did not commit, be exposed and disgraced by the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.

The Home and the Nation II

Saturday 15 October
READ: I Sam. 2: 22 - 34
MORE LESSON: I Sam. 4:10-11

As goes the family, so goes the nation. In the quest to search out the cause of the challenges confronting the nation and the way to overcome them, we must begin our search from the home. I have looked through the Scripture and I have found that the first change that a nation needs must begin from the house of the leader. It is imperative to note that we are all leaders whether we are famous or not, whether we are in public position or not. As long as you have someone you are accountable for and influence, you are a leader.
A nation is simply a combination of several homes. The armed robbers that cause havoc in the nation come from homes. The man that ties a bomb round himself and goes to explode it, killing multitude of people in the name of whatever cause, also comes from someone's home. The corrupt leaders that leave masses of people in pain and carry the wealth of the nation for selfish gain all come from homes. It would have made a whole lot of difference if someone had ingrained the fear of the Lord in their mind right from the home and be convicted against all the wrongs they are doing now.
In the Bible, Eli was the leader of the nation of Israel in his time. The Lord God is the Ruler and the King of Israel. He, however, placed human leaders over them to do His will in the nation. The time came when God began to warn the leader and the nation of Israel that they were tilting towards destruction. The reason was because the children of Eli were doing abominable things. These children were sleeping with women in the sanctuary, touching what they were not supposed to touch, and doing all manners of wickedness against God. The Lord called the home to order but the father, instead of enforcing the fear of God in his home, began to talk softly to his children. Even the man, the children and their family were destroyed in one day. The ark of the Lord which symbolised the presence of God in Israel was taken by the enemy and the nation was defeated.
God wants to heal the land but He wants to start from the home. The greatest mistake of our nation is the sin of abandoning the home-front, locking God out of the family. When our families and our homes remember God and return to Him, the nation will become all that God intends for it. Today is the day to repent of any way that you have been running your home contrary to God's plan, return to Him, take your home to God in prayer and pray for our dear nation. Everyone who comes from one home should spend time today to pray for that home. Pray that your family and you will not fail God.

Prayer/Action
* Ask the Lord to help your family not to fail.
* Pray that God will lead our bachelors and spinsters to make the right choice of marriage partner.
* Ask God to visit and mend cracks in any home, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
I expose all satanic set up planned to bring me down, in the name of Jesus.

The Home and the Nation I

Friday 14 October
READ: Eph. 6:1-4
MORE LESSON: Prov. 22:6

The situation in the nation is alarming. Crime, economic instability, immorality and vices are on the increase. When we listen to news, all we hear are things that are heart troubling. We need to pray earnestly for our nation. It is now obvious that things are no longer the way they used to be. Things are taking a downward turn and is worrisome.
National progress begins from the home. Crime, irresponsibility, laziness, corruption, immorality and other issues can only be dealt with successfully when we start the change we want to see from the home. We have been blaming the government, the army, the school etc. and everyone else apart from ourselves. But we need to start fixing problems and not blame. Parents should take responsibility that even if they can't control what happens in the nation, they will make sure their home reflects God's desire for the community. If all parents make this decision and follow it, then we will build a good nation. We need parents who will declare like Joshua, ...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord: Josh 24:15.
You can make your own contribution to the development of this nation. Perhaps you are not in any public leadership position and therefore you think you cannot make any change in the nation. However, you can be the change you want to see. Decide for yourself and your family to do what is right as your own contribution to the nation. Looking at the home in our nation, we see that there is so much that needs to be done. The fathers need to step up to the role of providing, protecting, guiding and bringing up their families in the way of the Lord, the mothers need to step up in their role of creating a family where the love of God, care and wellbeing are evident. The children need to step up to their role of being worthy ambassadors of Christ, presenting the home they come from in good light. The youths are the ones that will take up the mantle of leadership in our nation; however, the truth is that it is not the way many of them live and behave now that will take them to that place of leadership. There is need to change our values and mindset.
The home is the birthplace of positive change and development. Until the home front is alright, the nation cannot be alright. It is time for parents and children to rise to the challenge of being worthy examples in the world and determine, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion: Isa 8:18.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to anoint your home to accomplish God’s purpose for building it, in Jesus’ name.
* Ask God to raise godly offspring in our homes.
Cover your home with the blood of Jesus.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Every evil personality troubling my Israel, receive the stone of destruction, in the name of Jesus.

Newness of Life

Wednesday 12 October
READ: Romans 6:1-4
MORE LESSON: Rom.8:5-11

The scriptural passage above clearly shows the connection between grace and the new life that is in Christ Jesus. Before salvation, the man lives in sin and under the control of its force. The man cannot say ‘No’ to sin because satan, the architect of sin, is his master. When the man surrenders his life to Jesus, he is baptised into Christ's death in the eternal spirit realm. One of the ordinances of God is that death should terminate any covenant that runs in a man's flesh. When the man dies, the power of the covenant is broken. Therefore, by the baptism into Christ’s death, the man dies, and the power and victory of sin over him is broken, For he that is dead is freed from sin: Rom.6:7. In that singular exercise of sincerely confessing Christ as LORD and Saviour, the man dies and he is buried with Christ by baptism into death. More importantly, the way Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so is the man raised from the dead to walk in newness of life as explained in Rom.6:4. This is a great mystery which the human mind cannot comprehend. At a moment of saying ‘yes’ to Jesus, an operation took place over your life in the eternal spirit realm; you died, was buried and resurrected into a new life. Hallelujah!
The new life in Christ Jesus is a life aided by grace, which can be defined as God's enabling power working in a man's life. Grace and sin do not co-habit; no man continues in sin in the face of grace. Grace helps a man to live above sin, …where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord: Rom.5:20-21. That is why Rom.8: 12-13 says, Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
You must reckon yourself dead to sin as Rom. 6:6 urges us, Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Anyone who continues to serve sin is not under grace. If we claim to be under grace and continue to practise sin, we lie, as the truth is not in us. You have a responsibility under grace not to allow sin to reign in your mortal body. The enabling power to say no to sin comes from the Holy Spirit, but your part is to live and walk in the Spirit. That is why Gal.5:16 says, This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Will you make up your mind to walk in newness of life that is in Christ Jesus from today?

Prayer/Action
* LORD Jesus, thank You for the gift of a new life inYou.
* Thank You Jesus for the grace to live above sin. I surrender every part of my body to glorify Your name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
All evil accursed things in my home or family affecting me and my family negatively, I destroy you today by the blood of Jesus, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Thou shall Not Steal

Tuesday 11 October
READ: Exo. 20: 15
MORE LESSON: Eph. 4:28

Stealing is something that is gradually becoming a vogue in the world. Politicians, civil servants and business people take things that are not their due and feel it is a normal thing to do. People take things that do not belong to them and feel that it is not a big deal. Students steal materials into examination hall and think there is nothing wrong with that. However as believers, the command of God has not changed; it says thou shalt not steal...: Exo. 20: 15.
When I was young I used to think that there is nothing wrong with a child taking his parents' belonging even when he is not permited. One day, however, as I was studying the Bible I found out that anybody that takes his parents' belonging without telling them is in the company of armed robbers. When we were in secondary school, we had a popular slang called ''tapping''. We would take people's things and say that we only 'tapped'. For example, if we pick somebody's pen we would change the case and if anyone asked, we would say we only tapped it. When I became a child of God, I knew that whatever euphemism people use for it, stealing is stealing. If you take what is not yours whether at home or at work, it is stealing and all thieves will find themselves in the lake of fire.
Eph 4:28 says, Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. God wants you to be productive and righteous. He takes the issue of you taking anything that belongs to another person very serious. This is the reason if there is anything in your possession that is not yours, you have to return it. Men steal what they think that they will never be able to rightfully have. So men take money illegally, steal materials and things because they feel it is a quick way to possessing these things. But it matters to God how you get whatever you have. It is not enough to have something, how you get it counts. How did you get your car? How did you get a wife? A man takes another man's daughter without the parents' consent and camps her with him in the name of marriage. That is not how to get a wife; you just stole a whole human being! It doesn't matter that she agreed to live in with you. The parents that God gave her to, and raised her up, need to give her to you because she is rightfully theirs.
If you have stolen anything before, this is the time to return, ask for forgiveness and make amends (Luke 19: 8). Thou shalt not steal.

Prayer/Action
* Repent of any act of stealing and promise God that you will never do it again, in Jesus’ name.
* Pray for everyone who steals (either part-time or full-time armed robbery) that God will convict them of their evil act, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, I prophesy against every dream, vision or revelation of evil against my year, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Do not bear False Witness

Monday 10 October
READ: Exo. 20: 16
MORE LESSON: Prov. 19: 5

The text of today says, thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbour. One of the ten commandments of the Lord is that you must not testify something which in actual fact you do not know about. Do not tell something about another person which is not true. Do not bear a record or a testimony which you do not know about. This basic law of God addresses an issue that is very common in our society today. You see people saying what they do not know about. They cook up stories that don't exist and beat their chests saying they saw it in the newspapers. People do not find it difficult to swear even when they know they are not telling the truth. Lying and false witness has become the order of the day in the world but the Lord is warning us against it.
This involves taking an oath in court and then telling lies. It includes writing a legal affidavit that is not true. It involves taking an oath of swearing into an office or profession and then acting contrary to it. Lies told in biodata are not excluded, be they for academic, political, economic or social gains. Using false age to get a job, admission or write an application is false witness. God is concerned about people bearing false witness. This is the reason the Bible says, A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape: Prov. 19:5. God is saddened by a man giving a testimony against people which is not true. False witness has caused death for people. Innocent men have lost their lives to false witness. People suffer for life because of the lie told against them. Therefore the Almighty God is saying that He is the God of vengeance against people who give false witness. If you do not want the vengeance of the Lord to burn against you, you must stay away from all forms of falsehood.
If you have been a victim of false witnesses, I want you to commit the mater to God who alone can vindicate you. If you have been bruised, hurt and broken because of a lie that somebody told against you, handover the matter to God. It doesn't matter how long the truth takes to show up the Lord will eventually justify you. Truth cannot be defeated. The Bible says we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth (II Cor 13:8). All the people that thought they were working against you by lying and bearing false witness will be caught in their traps. It will eventually be obvious that they worked for you because the Lord will turn the table around and everything will work out in your favour. The Lord will fight for you and the truth will prevail, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Declare in the name of Jesus that every agent of falsehood shall be exposed.
* I reject every form of false declaration for worldly gain, in the name of Jesus.
* No matter what happens I shall stand by the truth, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
My Father and my God, today, I ask You to defend Your interest and investment in my life by Your might, in the name of Jesus.

Thou must not Covet

Sunday 9 October
READ: Exo. 20:17
MORE LESSON: : I Tim. 6: 6-10

One of the commandments of God is that you must not covet. Covetousness is an evil that is silent so people may not know how grievous it is. A covetous man is not far from stealing, it is just that he has not done it physically, due to lack of the opportunity. When a person is covetous, he is not content with what he has so he is always running beyond his capability, which makes him commit sin against God and against man. God's command is, Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's: Exo. 20:17. Anything that is not yours, don't look at it with desire as if it should just become your own.
The antidote against covetousness is contentment. The Bible says, But godliness and contentment is great gain: 1 Tim 6: 6. God's desire for you is that you should be content with what He has given you and what He has done for you. This doesn't mean that you should not desire and work for greater things and increase. It nevertheless means that you should not struggle to have what other people have by all means. It means you should not lust after something that belongs to another. It is covetousness that makes a man have his wife and still long for another girl outside or another man's wife. Stay with what God has given you, appreciate it and celebrate it. Whatever God has not given you or has not yet done for you, thank God for it and be happy for the person that has it. God will give you your own at His appointed time.
One of God's topmost desires for you in the world at this time is the desire for you to be satisfied with what you have and live in peace. Do not bring woes, struggles, evil and crimes on your soul because of the drive to possess. Lack of contentment is the secret behind all manner of crises, crime and evil in our nations and entire globe today. Some people have reached a climax of covetousness such that even when they have great things, they are happy with it until they see someone with a better thing. Then they lose all their joy over what they have been happy possessing and start desiring that of the person that is better than theirs. That is not God's plan for you whether in life or in ministry; be content with what you have. God bless you and impart upon you the grace for contentment, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* I receive grace to be contended with God’s doings in my life.
* Oh Lord, remove selfish desire in my heart today, in Jesus’ name.
* Father, anything that will not glorify Your name in my life, let me not have it.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Every agenda of error and mistake packaged to embarrass and humiliate me this month, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.

Thou Shall not Kill

Saturday 8 October
READ: Exo. 20: 13
MORE LESSON: I Jn. 3: 14 - 15

Everywhere in the world, murder is a capital offence. If sins and crimes are in ranks, then murder certainly ranks among the worst. Human life is highly valued by both God and man and anyone that takes another person's life has done great wickedness. The sanctity of human life is recognised in the law of every land and even by God the Maker of all, Surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man: Gen 9:5. In other words, the life of man is so valued by God that if an animal sheds the blood of a man, the Lord will judge that animal. If a man sheds any man's blood, the Lord will require it from his hand, Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man: Gen 9: 6. It is because of the greatness of the sin of murder that the Lord commands, Thou shalt not kill: Exo 20: 13.
Jesus came and added a greater dimension to this law and said that God’s commandment against murder is not limited to physical killing. He pointed out that anger and hatred in the heart against another man is equal to murder. Some people may not kill physically but they talk evil and gossip so much that it is the same as committing murder. The hatred in the hearts of some against fellowmen is so grievous that the only reason they have not killed is because they have not seen the opportunity to. In Matt 5: 21 -22, Jesus warns, ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. This means that you should guard your heart against all hatred, malice, evil words and anger if you want to be innocent of murder in the sight of God.
The Lord wants forgiveness, love and kindness to fill our hearts, so that we will not be killers but givers of life. As the Scripture says, We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him: 1 John 3:14-15.

Prayer/Action
*Holy Spirit, help me not to speak destructive words that can kill spiritually or physically, in Jesus’ name.
* I silence the voice of satan in my heart, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER

The Ten Commandments

Friday 7 October
READ: Exo. 20: 1-17
MORE LESSON: Rom. 13: 9 -10

The Ten Commandments is not outlawed in the New Testament. We must still obey the principles of the laws of God to inherit eternal life. A young man approached Jesus in Lk. 18:18-20 and asked what he needed to do to inherit eternal life and the Lord told him first to keep the Ten Commandments. This shows that the Lord wants us to keep the Ten Commandments. What should be taken to notice is the response the man gave; he said, All these have I kept from my youth up: Luke 18:21. He said he had kept the Ten Commandments for years and Jesus didn't rebuke him that he was lying so it means that he wasn't. Therefore, any man that says it is impossible to keep the commandments is not serious. If a man who didn't have the Holy Spirit could keep the Ten Commandments, then you can.

The basic rules of God in the Ten Commandments include the following:
1. You must know God and recognise Him as God. This means accepting Jesus as Lord in this dispensation.
2. You must not have another god or worship any idol. Whether tangible or intangible, nothing should take the place of God in your heart.
3. You must not use the name of the Lord in vain. Do not dishonor the name of the Lord.
4. You must also honour the Lord's day and give God your time in fellowship. The basic principle of Sabbath is that you cannot use all the time, days, weeks, months and years of your life as if they were yours. Set apart God's time for Him.
5. Honour your father and your mother.
6. You shall not kill.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
10. You shall not covet your neighbour's property or anything that belongs to another.

Now in the New Testament, the Lord has even made it easier to fulfil God's laws. He has put His laws in our hearts and not in tablets of stone (Heb 8: 10). Also, all the commandments have been summarised into two by the Lord. Jesus said, ...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, ...Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matt 22:37-40.
The Lord has put His Spirit in you so that you can walk in His commandments. Today, receive the grace to live in obedience to the commandments of the Lord, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Holy Spirit, help me today to be obedient to Your instruction.
* I cast out every rebellious spirit in me by fire.
* I receive grace to do the will of God everyday, in Jesus’ name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, this month, let the angels of settlement and compensation visit my life, in the name of Jesus.

Behold the Bridegroom Cometh

Thursday 6 October
READ: 1 Cor. 7: 29 – 31
MORE LESSON: Matt. 25: 1-13

The story of the ten virgins as recorded in Matt: 25: 1 – 13 is quite educating and revealing, especially to Christians in this generation. The Bible records in Matt 25: 5 that 'while the Bridegroom tarried . . . ' To tarry means to wait, to delay or fail to come after a long time. The first result of the delay was that the virgins slept, the second result was that the oil in all their lamps finished and the third result was that their lamps burnt out.
Like the bridegroom in the story, it has been two thousand years ago that the Master, the Bridegroom of the Church went to Heaven with the promise that He is coming back for the Bride (the Church) for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. For over two thousand years, the Church has been waiting and like the virgins, several have slept off, so much oil has gone dry and several lamps burnt out. One question is very relevant at this hour, and that question is, 'Child of God, are you still waiting.'
Another way of asking this question is, ‘Child of God, are you ready to meet with Him?' Remember that God is faithful to His promises, He promised Abraham that He would visit His children in Egypt and deliver them and take them to the Promised Land. He did exactly that after 430 years (Ex. 14:28 – 31). He also promised Jeremiah that He would end the captivity of the Zion in Babylon after 70 years and He did exactly that to the amazement of Israel (Ps 126: 1). In the same manner, at midnight, the Bridegroom terminated his delay and for the virgins. Matt 25: 6 said, . . . Behold the Bridegroom cometh . . . the Bridegroom will come like a thief in the night, He will come: In the twinkling of an eye, He shall come. Are you ready to meet Him?
It is my sincere prayer that all of us shall be ready throughout 2016, in Jesus’ name. The spirit of slumber and the spirit that drains and wastes spiritual strength will not prevail against you this year, in Jesus’ name. I pray for you that your love for God and for the things of God shall not wax cold in 2016, in Jesus’ name.
Lastly, the counsels of Jesus our Master in Mk 13: 33 that take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is (NKJV) and of Apostle Paul in Rom 13:11 – 14 that and do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed (NKJV). The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Receive the strength to live everyday like Jesus is coming that day.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to make you ready for the coming of Jesus.
* Ask God to help you live each day with eternity in view.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Today, I send the stone of David to the forehead of every Goliath harassing my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

A Goodly Child

Wednesday 5 October
READ: Exo. 2:1-4
MORE LESSONS: Psa. 139:14

No child born into this world is a product of an accident. God carefully fashioned everyone and created a purpose for which they are to fulfil. Nobody is in this world without a purpose and responsibility. One reason why some people do not succeed in God's purpose for their lives is lack of foresight on the part of their parents of the manner of children God has given them. Since they lack understanding, they are not able to instruct, guide and direct the path of their children from infancy.
Moses' parents had foresight. Moses was born at the time when all Israelites who gave birth to male children threw them into River Nile, in obedience to Pharaoh's decree. But when Moses' parents looked at the baby in their hand, they saw a “goodly”, “unique”, “fine”, “proper”, “extraordinary” child. They saw in that child a world-mover; a deliverer, a prophet, a miracle worker. They saw greatness, prosperity and success in their baby. What they saw in that baby made them to dare to disobey Pharaoh's decree and hid the child. By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment (Heb.11:23).
Parents, what good do you see in your children, and what are you doing to preserve that which you have seen in them? What are you doing now to help your children realise their dreams? It is unfortunate that some parents only see in their children folly, “block head”, “stupid child”, “you will never make it in life”, “good-for-nothing”, and these they yell at their children every time. What these parents do not know is that their words go a long way to rule over the destinies of their children. If you keep insulting your child as good for nothing and stupid, the forces of darkness may simply reckon your words as a curse upon that child and ride on that to afflict your child. Moses' parents saw in their child excellence, achievement, greatness and they worked Moses into it.
It is possible that your parents never saw anything good in you, and those around you never assisted you to pursue your dreams, but how do you see yourself? Moses grew up in Pharaoh's house, but he never saw himself as an Egyptian. By faith, Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter: Heb.11:24. Now that you are grown up, your destiny is in your hand. It is how you see yourself that matters. God created you great, and has purposed to use you for great things. Begin now to see yourself the way God created you, and you will enter into your greatness.

Prayer/Action
* Lord, let Your purpose for my children be fulfilled, in Jesus' name.
* Prophesy greatness over each of your children.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Today, I break every curse of profitless hard work in my life, in the name of Jesus.

Building a Happy Home

Tuesday 4 October
READ: Gen. 2:15-25
MORE LESSONS: Col. 3:18-21

God has a plan for each of His children's home, presently or in the future. As the initiator of the institution of marriage, His desire is that no home fails. It is important for us as God's children, who want to be part of His heavenly desire in the place of marriage, to know God's original purpose for this institution and there are three major ones.
One, marriage was ordained for the mutual societal help and comfort which husband and wife ought to provide for each other, both in prosperity and adversity. Two, it was ordained in order that the natural instinct and affection implanted by God be allowed and directed aright, that is pure sexual life without fornication. Finally, it was ordained for procreation, that godly seeds may be raised on the earth.
Of all these, God's topmost priority from the beginning is not procreation, which unfortunately today is our number one purpose for marriage. His priority actually is for help, in prosperity and in adversity, And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him: v18. And God repeated this same thing in verse 20 …but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. Every other reason for marriage is God's plan but being an help is His priority. The question now is, “How helpful are you to your spouse or do you intend to be when you get married?” Until you are a helper to your spouse in all things: spiritual, physical, material, economic, health, etc, you are not yet building a happy home.
There are a few things and principles that God has set as standards and rules which, if applied, can make a happy home.
1. Husbands must love their wives unconditionally (Eph. 5:25).
2. Wives must submit to their husbands without reservation (Eph. 5:22).
3. In honour, they must prefer one another.
4. They must endeavour to keep the unity of the spirit.
5. They both must leave to cleave (Eph 5:31).
6. Finally, God hates divorce and husbands and wives must recognise and agree that according to God's Word, divorce is never an option (Mal. 2:16).
.
Prayer/Action
* Father, help my home to fulfil the divine purpose for establishing it, in Jesus' name.
* Father, make me a true help and a complement for my spouse, in Jesus' name.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
Though my beginning be small, yet shall I greatly increase; I believe in the top and I shall get there, in the name of Jesus.

God’s Nature

Monday 3 October
READ: II Pe.t 1:4
MORE LESSONS: 1Jn. 2:12-20

We cannot get enough of the Word of God which brings God to us. The environment of Heaven finds expression in the Word of God. The more of the Kingdom of Heaven we want to experience, the more of the Word we must deliberately digest. Growing in the Word of God requires discipline and a lot of effort at first, but as we make a habit of reading and meditating on the Word, we soon begin to build our lives around it with ease. Every time we receive the Word, we receive God. All of this is simply to say that the reason God gave us His Word is to make us like Him.
Beyond the breakthroughs and miracles that we receive as we walk in God's Word, the ultimate invitation of God for us is to become like Him. This is the very heart -beat of the Father. God is building Himself into us by the instrumentality of His Word; He wants to totally transform us. This is the ultimate assignment of God's Word in us; to upgrade our present reality into God's realm of dominion. God is constantly changing our lives into His image. Through every victory, deliverance and healing, God is calling us to become channels of deliverance, healing and victory to the world around us. The life of God must be seen in and through our daily living, for this is the ultimate work of the Word in us. The Living Book is given to make us living books and epistles to our generation.
We are called Christians because our biggest responsibility is to be like Christ, walking in the divine nature of Christ; a life that absolutely portrays Heaven on earth. Jesus walked the earth many years and never fell sick, rather, He healed the sick. This is because no virus or disease can thrive in the divine nature of Christ, none, not one! The divine nature is an absolute supernatural life that natural people cannot resist. And this is one of the greatest tools for evangelism. God is calling us out of this present noise into maturity of soul and spirit. It is God's desire that every word of ours and deed beam the Gospel to that person who might never get to read a Bible, And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,...: Col. 3:17. Let us live in the consciousness that we are the living epistles of the Gospel of Christ today. For it is only through contact with the Word that we can impact our world.

Prayer/Action
* Father, help me to devote myself to Your Word.
* Father, let me manifest the seed of God in me in my character.
* Because I have the nature of God, sickness, diseases and sin shall not reign in my body.

TODAY'S PROPHETIC PRAYER
In the name of Jesus, this month will not go without good results!
