Word at work

TEXT: Exo. 12:1-12,
MORE LESSONS: Ezra 8:21-23

God's Word is one of the most powerful forces both in heaven and on earth. God does not do anything without His Word which is older than everything in creation. God cannot be separated from His Word, nor His Word from Him. God's Word precedes His work; God has not done anything without first sending His Word ahead which manifests expressively. In today’s text the first thing God did to set Israel free from the clutches of Egypt and Pharaoh was to send His Word to His servant Moses (v1).
This has taught me to always look first for God's Word and promises in all situations before looking for His work and miracle. Anyone who has God's Word should rest assured that God's might will follow. Unfortunately, today there are more seekers of God's power and might outside of God's Word. This has been responsible for a lot of delays and absurdities among God's children. If believers will commit just a fraction of what they do in seeking for miracle to seeking God's Word and promises, there would be fewer unresolved problems among us. Whatever we are looking for is available first by seeking God before His works. Prosperity is in seeking God first, And he sought God in the days of Zechariah... and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper II Chro. 26:5. King Solomon provoked God by his offering, …And Solomon and the congregation sought unto it. And Solomon went up thither to the brazen altar before the LORD… and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it....: II Chro. 1:6-7. By seeking God first, Solomon got more than he could have asked for. May you hear God's Word for your situation today! I note that God did not speak only to Moses, He made Aaron a witness. Every of God's Word is with a witness; if He has spoken to you, He will confirm it in other ways. My prayer for you today is that God will not leave you without a witness, His Word will be confirmed in your situation, in Jesus’ name.
Finally, our text shows that God's Word came to Moses in Egypt; God's Word to help you will always come at critical times when all hopes and help seem far. When the battle seems lost and the enemies rejoice, then God's Word will show up. Begin to look more for God's specific word for you than for His miracles and the two will together work for you. In challenging times, do more with seeking God and His Word and the deliverer of Israel will show up for you. As God promised Israel through His Word, you too will have a new testimony by His Word, but first seek God's Word.
