The God of all Possibilities

Sunday 31 January
READ: Luke 1: 37
MORE LESSON: Mark 9:23

I want to share a testimony with you so that you may start believing God even in impossible situations. I once went to a popular city in Nigeria to preach and I had a word from the Lord to break the yoke of delay on the lives of people who had grown of age for marriage and it was not forthcoming. I made the call for people to come out; among them was a lady who was a bank manager and about forty eight years of age. The Lord gave word of knowledge that precisely hit her life to the detail; I prayed over them and left. Unknown to me, a Major in the army was also at that meeting who was not married and was trusting God for marriage. I don't know how the remaining happened, but three years later, I was invited to join them in marriage.

The lady was fifty one years old at that time. When I returned after another year or two, she had no child. I asked her what was wrong and she replied, “Don't you know my age when I got married?” I told her that I don't care about her age because it is not written in the Bible that there is an age when somebody cannot have a child. I prayed for her and left. I went back about two years later, unknown to me, she had got pregnant but the pregnancy had lasted for one and a half years. In the midst of the service, the power of the Holy Spirit fell on her and the baby in her womb that had not moved for months started kicking. She rushed to tell me that the baby in her womb which had not kicked for so long had started kicking. I said, ‘Ok since it has started kicking, I change his date, I give him now the normal nine months’. Months later, she gave birth to a baby that had stayed two years plus in the womb. When the baby was born, she weighed less than 1 kg and they could not bathe her because any contact with her skin would make it peel. But to the glory of God, that girl is a big girl now. The woman conceived again after the age of 54 and gave birth.

I have seen God do raw miracles that I can't ever deny His power. I have undeniable proofs that what a man needs to prevail in destiny is God. He can do the impossible for you and break all natural limitations. Your miracle is next today, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* With God nothing shall be impossible for me today, in Jesus’ name.
* Father, gain glory for Yourself over the situation men called impossible in my life, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Take a special seed of thanksgiving today and announce that this year shall be greater than the past and filled with thanksgiving in the name of Jesus.

The Proven God

Saturday 30 January
READ: Psa. 44:1–4
MORE LESSON:1Sam 5:1-12

Our text today captures David's testimony of God. He testifies of how he heard from his fathers and the men of old all the exploits that God had done in ancient times. Compared to contemporary times, David is an ancient man, having lived around 4000 years ago. Howbeit, ancient David still testifies of how he has heard from ancient men about the consistency of God's power. This shows that God has a proven record that spans from ancient to ancient times. If a sportsman can win a trophy consistently back to back for a decade, I believe there should be no doubt as to the fact that he/she is the best. God has delivered results from the foundation of the earth and has never failed. The consistency of God's track record spans generations; there is no tenable reason for any man to doubt Him.

God is not just all time tested but also all locations tested. A sportsman may be playing well in front of his home fans and he is spurred to victory, thereby able to win all the games. But when he plays away from home in rival territory where he is booed, he might lose all the matches. So a man is not fully tested until he is tested both at home and away from home. If a man can prove his power both at home and in a faraway country, then he is truly powerful. The God of your help is tested and proven both at home and away from home and He is found consistent. In Isa.
66: 19, God says, and I will set a sign among them . . . to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles. Jehovah the God of Israel is not a God that has glory just at home; His fame and glory spread even among the gentiles – the other nations of the world.

All other gods have borders, but the Almighty is without borders. I had a teacher in secondary school who had great respect for cows: she didn't eat cow meat. When I investigated, I found that the cow is the symbol of the god of her homeland. But here we were, slapping cows, killing and eating them. So her cow-god was god only within the borders of her home-country. This brings to mind the story of the Ark of God when it was seized by the Philistines. They put it in the temple of their god, Dagon. In a matter of two days, their god laid prostrate on the floor before the Ark of God, with its arms and head broken off. God crossed the borders of Israel into the land of Philistia and beat Dagon, not only hands-down, but head-off. Jehovah is God in Israel and in every nation. You have a time-tested, borderless and proven God; exercise full faith in Him.

Prayer/Action
* Thank You Lord, because I serve You, the proven God.
* Lord, prove Your majesty to the world in my life, in Jesus’ name.
* Lord, let everything contrary to God in my life bow to Your Lordship, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Today, call your name and say to it that it shall not be heard in any evil in 2016 in the name of Jesus

The Self-Sufficient Helper

Friday 29 January
READ: Psa. 46:1-11
MORE LESSON: Acts 12: 20 - 24

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early: Psa. 46:5 The help of God is Heaven's intervention in a matter that is beyond the control of man. Help enables you to do more than you can do ordinarily. Help is about being able to achieve more than you can on your own. Someone defined help as the extra hand that makes your load lighter to carry. God is the only Helper there is: if God doesn't help you, no man can. Every other man assists, but God helps. Assistance talks of relief coming in bits and pieces but help is holistic and has no limit; it gets the job done completely. Only God can provide real help; men can push a little but God provides the help. Man can take off to help and abandon it along the way, but God starts from the beginning and takes it all through to the end. When God is involved, He goes all the way to bring us help. When you put your confidence in man, you are putting your confidence in a supporter who himself needs help. But when you put your confidence in God He can use other men to accomplish things.

Every man will have something that he needs an extra hand for till the end of life. We all need help; I haven't found a man who is not in need of help. I have met
the rich and the strong and they all need help. I haven't met anyone who does not need help except God who is self-sufficient. No man is self-sufficient; if you hear anyone say that he is, he is preparing for his grave.

God is self-sufficient and all men are dependent. Don't be deceived to think you are sufficient on your own like Herod (Acts 12: 21) who finished speaking and the people were hailing him, saying that it was not the voice of man but the voice of God. They said he was God and he was happy. All of a sudden, an angel slapped him and he fell down dead. No one knew an angel was in that congregation until the man was slapped. The angel would have wondered, “How can they tell you that you are self-sufficent and self-existent and you accept such praise from them?” It is only the Almighty God that occupies that office.

Never put your confidence in yourself. Herod must have believed he was some god also because he accepted the accolade of being God. Jehovah had to silence him as a lesson to other men. Don't ever trust that you can accomplish anything all by yourself but only by the help of God.

Prayer/Action
* Thank You Lord because You are my self-sufficient Helper.
* Oh God, my self-sufficient Helper, send me help early in my destiny, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Again anoint yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to saturate and anoint you , spirit, soul and body for an unfailing year in the mighty name of Jesus.

The Privilege of Service

Thursday 28 January
READ: 1 Tim 1:12
MORE LESSON: Num. 16: 9

It is necessary to know that serving God is an opportunity. It should not be taken for granted. It is a person without understanding that thinks he is doing God a favour by making himself available to serve in His vineyard.

The highest purpose of man is to give God pleasure (Rev 4: 11). The greatest achievement a man can have is to bear fruits for the Master. So when you are called upon to serve in the house of God, do it with a sense of reverence and gratitude. It is a great privilege. This is the same mind with which you should bring your offerings and gifts to the Lord. As it is written in His Word, If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof: Psa 50:12. It is not because God is in need that He asks for offerings and tithes from man; it is because He wants to increase you. It is a great honour and privilege to be called upon by the Creator of Heaven and earth to give to Him.

When a man looks at his past and abilities, he will realise that it is sheer grace that enables you to stand before God, let alone work for Him. This is the understanding Apostle Paul had that made him say, I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the
ministry: I Tim 1: 12. This is the attitude with which I do the privileged assignments He has given me as well. I am very grateful today that I am a pastor. I used to be a rascal, but today I am a radical for Jesus. Many people have done great things, but my greatness is in knowing Jesus. I do not count serving God as a sacrifice but as a privilege; no matter what I have to forgo or undergo to fulfil the ministry, it doesn't matter. I know that it is a rare privilege to be a servant in the vineyard of God. It is a great honour to be appointed a mouthpiece for the Almighty.

In the same way, you may or may not be in full time ministry but whatever you are doing for God, know that it is a great privilege and so do it with full reverence and gratitude to Him. Don't let people have to coax or coerce you before you give all to serving in the Church of God. Don't see giving to God as a burden. It is because God has given you the privilege of being alive that you can serve. Also it is because He has given you the body, health, resources and all you need that you can serve Him. So see it as a privilege and reciprocate by giving your all.

Prayer/Action
* Thank You Lord for the privilege You have given me to serve in Your house.
* Lord, don't let me be idle in the Kingdom business, in Jesus’ name.
* I shall not be slothful in business but be fervent in the spirit serving the Lord, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Repeat the anointing and declare your body and destiny a no parking zone for sickness and affliction in 2016 in the name of Jesus.

The Place of His Altar

Wednesday 27 January
READ: Deut. 12:5-7
MORE LESSON: Gen 33: 20

There is the mystery of place and location concerning how God answers prayers. We know that God is everywhere and can hear prayers anywhere but there are specific places where the Lord has chosen to put His name. It is wisdom to come physically to the place that the Lord has chosen and call upon Him there. Some people believe that they don't need to come to church; they believe that God is present in their bedroom as well and they can do all the fellowship they want with God alone in there. But in scriptures, you hear men say, 'The God of so and so, the God who encountered me at so and so, the God of Bethel . . .' It is absolutely scriptural that God puts His name on some people and places and when you connect with such people and places, you get things easily and cheaply from God. When you have not got to the place God has chosen to do His work you will struggle in other places. The Bible makes it clear, But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come: Deut 12: 5.

I know of a couple who had been praying for a baby, then one day they got a revelation. The man then took his wife and they came to the altar in church; they rolled on the altar and prayed, and the Lord answered them. There are a thousand and one cases like that; it is not because of the man of God but because God is always pleased to choose the place of His altar. When the Lord chooses a place, that place becomes the altar of the Lord: the access point to Heaven. Do yourself good to go to where God has chosen. People don't come to the altar to pray to the pastor; they pray to the God that he serves.

And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes and and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks: v 6. It is to the place where the Lord has chosen that you are to bring your offerings. Bring your offerings and your tithes to the altar. Many people in church run into crisis because they do not understand the power of the altar. There is a blessing that God has put in His altar for you, And there ye shall eat before the Lord your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the Lord thy God hath blessed thee: v 7.

Prayer/Action
* I repent of all complacency in coming to church, in Jesus’ name.
* Lord, grant me joy each time I approach Your house, in Jesus’ name.
* Lord, bless me as I go to Your house today, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Anoint yourself again and prophesy “ The days, weeks and months of 2016 shall be for my advancement in every way in the name of Jesus

Your Right of Way

Tuesday 26 January
READ: John 11: 9 - 10
MORE LESSON: John12: 35 - 46

You have the right of way in destiny. I want you to know that you can walk comfortably and get to where you are going in life without missing your way. However the secret to walking right in destiny is captured in the word 'light'. In the natural, everyone knows the anguish that is associated with trying to grope your way through darkness. If the power source fails and a house is in thick darkness, anyone who tries to walk in such an environment hits against obstacles, falls or even gets injured. These are the difficulties associated with walking in darkness. A man walking in the light, however, walks with ease and gets to where he is going on time.

Jesus said, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him: John 11:9-10. The reason many people walk in daily struggles and difficulties is because they walk in darkness. If you must find your way through life, you must walk in the light. When there is the reign of darkness in a life, there is confusion, anguish, terror, struggle and woes. When you have light, then you have the right of way. Jesus said in John 8: 12, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not
walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. The first thing that brings light into the life of a man is salvation. When you invite Jesus into your life, He comes in and brings the Light that He is into your life. Light is the master over darkness; when Jesus comes into your life, confusion and woes fly away.

After getting born again, and the darkness of sin has been removed, you still need the Word of God to bring more light into your life. Ignorance is darkness and the Word of God is light. The Word is a lamp to your feet, and a light to your path (Psa. 119:105). It is the knowledge of God's Word that gives light. This is the reason the Bible says, The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple: Psa. 119:130. When your life is governed by the Word of God, you walk in precision and accuracy; hitting your targets and making headway in life. You are also able to walk in speed and ease and therefore are satisfied early in life. You have the right of way in destiny and that right is in the light of God's Word. Today, I prophesy, let there be more light in your life. No matter how much of God's Word you know, you need more of Him.

Prayer/Action
* Father, let every obstacle on my way today be broken into pieces, in Jesus’ mighty name.
* Father, nothing will be too big or so small to stop my right of way this year, in the name of Jesus.
* Whatever hinders men in life will not find me, in the name of Jesus.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Anoint yourself with oil and declare “no day in 2016 shall be remembered for sorrow or loss in the name of Jesus.

Walking without Sinking 2

Monday 25 January
READ: Matt.14:22-32
MORE LESSON: Jer. 1: 12

Anytime you stand in faith looking at Jesus as the Word, the Blood, or the Life, there is nothing that can make you sink in life. Faith in God turns water to rock and wherever you stand becomes solid rock. In every circumstance that surrounds me, I see life behind the cross. For as long as you set your eyes on the Cross of Jesus, nothing can sink you. Before any evil can get to you, it must first win over the cross. Standing on the cross is an authority that governs the universe, a strength that has never experienced failure. Choose to see the cross first before seeing anything.

When I first started ministry, people used to come to me with many sad stories of what was happening to them. I used to become sober and downcast along with them and feel sorry for them. But then I started discovering that the people have not come to see me but who I represent. So when people come now with situations that could make anyone cry, I start making joke out of bad matters. When they come crying over a bad case, I begin to laugh and crack joke with them. Then I share God’s Word and I pray with them before I ask them to go. Some think that it is because I do not understand what they are going through. But no, it is because I choose not to see what the devil is doing but what God can do. I choose not to see the storm but Jesus miraculously walking on the water.

A woman came to me crying over her medical report of a cancer diagnosis. I collected the report and said, 'Father thank You because You are bigger than all this nonsense report. I replace the bad report with a good report'. Then I gave her back the paper and told her go see her doctor for a re-check. She looked at me and asked, 'Is that all?' Then she went and reported to the person who brought her that the Bishop didn't lay hands on her head. The fellow replied, 'Did he say anything to you?' She said that he only spoke a few words of prayer and told me to go and see the doctor again. Then the fellow said, ‘Go and do what he told you’. The Lord healed the woman supernaturally.

What she didn't know is that when I spoke to her, I wasn't seeing the cancer anymore; I was seeing her situation changed by the Miracle Worker. She forgot about the cross and remembered cancer as she came. But I decided to focus on the cross and help her put her attention away from cancer to the Great Physician. I don't care what you are going through; as long as you remove your focus from the situation and put it on the finished work of Christ on the Cross, you will experience miracles. You will walk on waters and not sink, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Father, I choose to believe Your report over the report of satan, in Jesus’ name.
* Today, I set my face like a flint, I shall not lose focus on the promises of God in my life.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
The sound of joy and the gathering of celebration shall not be missing in my new year in the mighty name of Jesus.

Walking without Sinking 1

Sunday 24 January
READ: Matt. 14:22-32
MORE LESSON: Heb 12: 2

The process of Peter’s sinking comprises three things. First, he looked off the Master and concentrated on the storm. Looking off the Master introduced fear and the result of the fear was the sinking. Each time a man sinks in destiny, there is a progression to the experience. Whatever succeeds in making you look off the source of strength sinks you. Do not allow anything to take you away from the Lord because to look off Jesus is to lose sight of confidence and strength.

The first consequence of looking off Jesus is the entrance of fear. Looking off Jesus opens the door for the thief to come in and the thief only needs a short period of time to steal, kill and destroy. You will not be a victim, in Jesus’ name; this is why your focus must be on Jesus unwaveringly throughout life. The moment Peter changed the object of his focus, he saw the storm. When he wasn't seeing Jesus anymore, he started seeing the storm. Remember, the storm didn’t just appear, he began to focus on the storm because he lost focus of the Lord. He started from a position of seeing the storm alongside with the other disciples before Jesus showed up. They all were looking at the storm until in the midst of the storm, he saw someone walking on the water. Immediately he found the supernatural sight of Jesus walking on water more captivating than the raging storm, the picture of the storm played down in his consciousness. In fact, as he concentrated on the miraculous sight, he so much forgot about the storm that he asked Jesus to bid him walk on the water in the midst of the storm. Then all of a sudden the devil reminded him, 'What do you think you are doing on the water with a storm as mighty as this blowing around you?' Immediately he remembered the storm, he forgot about Jesus and the miracle he was experiencing, and all he could remember was the storm.

Do you know that it is you who chooses what you want to see in life? Then what you choose to see determines whether you walk or sink. What sinks men is not the problems of life but their reactions to the problems. It wasn't the storm that actually made Peter to sink, it was the image of the storm. He allowed the image of the storm to overshadow the image of Jesus in his consciousness. Jesus is busy doing something in your life and the devil too is busy making his own noise; it is who you choose to see that wins in your life. What opened the door for Peter to sink was not the storm but his giving attention to fear by choosing not to see what Jesus was doing anymore. You will not sink in destiny, in Jesus’ name. But you must mind your sight, ear and mouth.

Prayer/Action
* I prophesy that my eyes will not see the storm that will make me sink, in Jesus’ name.
* I come against the forces of distraction in my journey of destiny, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
As the sun does not struggle to shine and the day does not struggle to break, so is my destiny this year, it shall not struggle to advance, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Get the Blessing!

Saturday 23 January
READ: Gen. 12:1-5
MORE LESSON: Gen. 22:16-18

Abraham's name has become an epitome of faith and greatness. The greatness of Abraham's name is more now than when he was alive. If you go to the nation of Israel today, you will see how greatly they revere him. Several contemporary countries and religions have also laid claim to descent from Abraham. When a man is successful, everybody claims to be related to him.
I can't tell what dreams Abraham had for his life when he was in his father's house in Ur of the Chaldeans but I can boldly say that when he met with God, God gave him a dream and destiny that was bigger than he could ever have imagined for himself. He encountered God and connected with a blessing so massive that it redefined the course of the rest of his life and gave him a name beyond his generation. Abraham connected with God and got a blessing that transformed him from a nonentity to a trans- generational role model.

You may not have a vision for your life or you may be pursuing a life that is less than God's will for you. But I want you to know that there is a blessing that you can connect with today that can turn you to a joy of many generations. When this blessing locates you, you also will get to a point that when people want to define greatness, they will refer to you. Greatness, fulfilment in destiny and becoming a generational praise are derivatives of God's blessing upon a man. This same blessing that He gave to Abraham is available to you, according to Gal 3: 14, That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

The same blessing that was given to Abraham is available to you through Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus Christ connects you with the blessing of Abraham. This blessing starts with the salvation of your soul and healing of your body; then it proceeds to greatness, wealth, trans-generational impact and good success. Do not ever make light God's blessing; it has the capacity to cause the desired shift in your destiny.

There have been people, both in history and contemporary times, that are associated with wealth and greatness. There are people who, when you mention their names, the first thing that comes to mind is wealth. The blessing that you will enter into from your encounter with God that will come your way today is such that when next people want to describe great things, they will make reference to you. I bless you with the blessing of the Lord that makes your life become more than all you have ever dreamed. As you go out today, greatness will happen to you, in Jesus’ name. Ask God for the blessings of Abraham upon your entire destiny today.

Prayer/Action
* Jesus, by my connection with You, I shall be greater than I imagined, in Jesus’ name.
* I receive access to the Abrahamic blessing, in Jesus’ name.
* I shall not be a failure in destiny, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Today, every bow of steel is broken by my hands, my war-fares are ended, and I declare peace in all around my territory, in the name of Jesus.

Divine - Turn - around

Friday 22 January
READ: Psa. 126: 1 – 6
MORE LESSON: Rev 21: 5

God's intervention is the power that reverses the negative situations of life. When God shows up in a man's situation, positive change is inevitable. God helps a man by turning his situation around. Have you seen a slave become a prime minister in a matter of minutes as it happened to Joseph in Egypt (Gen 41: 40 – 44). Only divine intervention can perform such a feat in a man's life. God has done it before and He can do it again. I pray that God will use your life to show that He is still in the business of turning things around.

The Bible says that when God turned again the captivity of Zion, it was like a dream (Psa 126: 1). Your situation can experience miraculous turn-around such that will look as if you are dreaming. Have you ever seen a turn-around so radical, sudden and high-lifting that it is not only the onlookers but even the recipient of that blessing finds it hard to believe? When God invades a situation, the impossible becomes possible, and the miraculous becomes common place. God is about to give you a positive turn-around, so divine that both you and the people around will be wondering whether it is a dream.

The children of Israel had been in captivity in Egypt for about 430 years. It looked as if their captivity would never end. Some of them were born and died in captivity and never knew freedom. However, when Jehovah visited them, He turned the situation in one day and brought them out of Egypt with His mighty hand (Deut 7: 8). He brought them out also with great substance and people who had been slaves for 430 years became wealthy possessors of property, silver and gold. Also when Israel was in captivity in Babylon for seventy years and it looked like there was no hope, it only took God one day to turn things around. Whenever men are recounting the story of a turn-around, they get to a point where they say, '. . . then one day.' Divine turn-around always has its 'one day'; captivity of many years ends one day. Dreams and expectations of many years also happen 'one day'; your 'one day' is here, in Jesus’ name. Finally, note that the Scripture says: When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion. The word is 'when' not 'if', and this signifies a certainty of occurrence. It is only a matter of time, your turn-around will happen. Turn-around is turn by turn. I prophesy in the name that is above all names that it is your turn for a divine turn-around.

Prayer/Action
* Today I receive a divine turn-around, by the force of the Spirit, in every negative situation of my life.
* I receive a divine intervention for a divine turn-around of every captivity, in Jesus’ name.

Divine Placement 2

Thursday 21 January
READ: Psa. 16:1-11
MORE LESSON: Gen 13: 8 - 18

We started yesterday to point out that divine placement is the key to fulfilling God's purpose and destiny for our life. There are several factors that make a man to always find himself in the pleasant places of destiny. Taking counsel from the Lord, meditation, thinking constructively, staying with the Word of God and hearing from the Lord for every step are very vital to a crisis-free destiny.

One great factor of right placement in life is shown in Ps 16: 4, their sorrow shall be multiplied that hasten after another god! One powerful secret of ease and safety in life and destiny is following ONLY the Lord. A good way to have multiplied and exponential sorrow in life is to keep pursuing things and not the Lord who is the Giver of all things. When a man decides for ONLY the Lord and has no other god, he is sure to be rightly placed. Right placement comes easily and naturally to the man whose heart is sincerely looking for the posting that puts him close to God. When you are looking for the location and position where you will be able to serve God, spend time with Him, please Him and do His will, you will always find yourself in the right place in life. The centre of God's purpose and assignment is always the right place in life. According to Psa. 16: 11, Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right
hand there are pleasures for evermore.

A man seeking God's presence as his priority in life cannot wander into the path of destruction. It is the man that is looking for a place where he can gratify his own selfish desires that will miss divine placement in life. Sorrow awaits the people who do not seek the Lord but hasten after another god – which could be money, fame or worldly pursuits. This is what happened to Lot who chose the plain of Jordan which looked good to him but he didn't know that it was already marked for destruction. That was unlike Abraham, who was seeking the place where he could have God's covenant over his life fulfilled, so he stayed in Canaan and inherited all the land.

When a man is given a pleasant placement in life, such a man has gladness, glory, joy and rest without any hellish situation as it is written in verse 9, Therefore my heart rejoiceth; my flesh also shall rest in hope. When you enjoy divine placement, you will have fullness of joy and pleasures evermore (Psa. 16: 11). You will not miss God in destiny, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Dethrone everything that has become idol in your heart, which may mislead you in destiny.
* Pray that God will take over your heart and be your singular pursuit in life.
* Pray that as you follow after God with all your heart, He will lead you to pleasant places in destiny.

PROPHETIC PRAYER

Where we are in life is a very important factor that determines what we get and become. You need to be sure you are in the right place all of the time. Being in the right place is not automatic; it is made possible through divine direction. It is divine placement that can give a man the right placing with adequate portions. Unless a man is divinely located in life, he cannot be sure of good output for all his input. Godly heritage is an off-shoot of good measure which a man gets when he obeys God's injunction that says, give and it shall be given unto you…. There are several other factors that can give a man right placement in life. Psa. 73:24 says, Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. To be rightly placed in life you need to seek God's counsel, and allow Him to decide for you by giving Him the right to have the final say concerning every issue of your life.

Meditation, thinking deep and taking everything to the place of prayer makes you a Christian who always knows what to do. Verse 7 of our text says, I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. Meditating, praying and waiting on God in night vigils give us divine placement. We must be like Isaac who waited on the Lord in meditation and prayers to receive His God ordained wife,
And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming: Gen. 24:63. Verse 8 of our text says, I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Focusing on the Lord and divine closeness is another factor that guarantees the pleasant place. When you set the Lord before you, you must command the presence of the Lord and abide in it to have God's mind concerning you. Today’s text also says, Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore: v 11. One of the advantages of walking with the Lord is that He will show you what belongs to you, where to live, where to work, who to marry, what clothes to wear, which occasion to attend e.t.c. Psa. 23:3 says, He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Anyone who lives in God can be sure of right paths in life.

I pray for you today that your portion in life will not be lost nor given to another person. The Lord will make your life and destiny a pleasant place forever, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Ask the Lord to be your God everyday of your life.
* Give the Lord the permission to choose for you in all things.
* Rebuke every force that is responsible for wrong placement and declare that they no longer have power over you.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
My glory shall shine globally like the sun in 2016, prevail over darkness like the stars and burn my enemies like fire, in Jesus mighty name.

Your Footstool

Tuesday 19 January
READ: Psa. 110: 1 – 3
MORE LESSON: Heb 10: 12 - 13

God promised man after the Fall that the Seed of the woman will bruise the head of the serpent. This means that the Seed will have His foot on the serpent's head and crush its head. This prophecy is about the coming of Jesus who would come to save the people from their sins, deliver them from the rule of satan and thereafter fill them with His Holy Spirit so that they can begin to rule over the enemy. Jesus is Emmanuel; God with us, always empowering us to rule and dominate the enemies.

When Jesus came, He took back the seat of authority that satan took from Adam, then with great impact from that high chair, He landed his foot on the devil's head. Jesus then invited as many as would believe and receive Him to come sit with Him on the throne and together all would put their feet on the devil's head. The devil, I believe, is regreting ever daring the Seed of man. All the deceit and power that satan had on earth was not sufficient to save him in his defeat by Jesus Christ. Today, the devil is again defeated in your life, in the name of Jesus Christ.

You can now enjoy the dominion that man enjoyed in the Garden of Eden because you have been restored to the seat of dominion through Christ. This is the prophecy that David made in Psalms 110 when he said, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool: Psa. 110:1. He was referring to Jesus Christ and as many as believed in Him. As a believer in Christ, you are raised up together with Him seated together in heavenly places with Him (Eph 2: 6). So you are seated where Christ is, and do you know where Christ is seated? He is seated at God's own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet...: Eph 1:21-22. This is where you are seated with Him and so everything – including the devil - is under your feet with Him. This is the promise of God to you. There is no room for weakness and fear, afflictions and sickness are gone. You are seated with Jesus, the devil cannot sit on you, he is your footstool. Glory to God! Go forth today crushing the head of the devil everywhere you meet him using the authority that you have through the name of Jesus.

Prayer/Action
* Bless the Lord for the position He has put you.
* Exercise your authority over every satanic embarrassment in your life.
* Plead the blood of Jesus on your household today.

Your Personal Altar of Prayer

Monday 18 January
READ: 1 Sam 1: 9 - 18
MORE LESSON: Mk.1:35

God can do anything for you if you will call upon Him. Men seek for results in everything they do but they neglect the tool that God has put in place for them to get result. Prayer is God's ordained means for His children to get solutions from Him for their problems. It means, therefore that any man who refuses to pray rejects results. Conversely, one who wants to succeed through God must be ready to pray. This is the reason God didn't mince words in saying, Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not: Jer. 33: 3.

God has made a promise that if you call on Him, you will receive answer. Prayer is calling God; it is making a demand on God. Your personal altar of prayer is the place where you can generate all the results that you need in life. Jesus would climb the mountain in the night and spiritually lay hold on all the result He wants for the day. When the day breaks, He steps out and sickness, demons, religious hypocrites and every other circumstance begin to bow before Him. The problem with many believers is that the prayer they pray in church is the beginning and end of their prayer life. Corporate prayer in church is vital and is necessary for your growth and success in destiny but it cannot take the place of your personal altar.

A brother, who was afflicted by ulcer
once shared a testimony of how he heard me preach that you could stir God's heart to do things for you. He laid down an offering and told God to heal him. We prayed a corporate prayer in church and the service ended. But after the service, he decided to personally build on what has been done in church. So he didn't go home after church but moved into one of the classrooms in our school and prayed until the power of God fell on him and the ulcer disappeared right there.

Hannah had been going to Shiloh to seek God in the corporate assembly. But one day, when she became determined to get results, she stayed behind when everybody had gone home and took the issue personal with her Maker. She prayed persistently at her personal altar to God. This was what attracted the priest Eli to her. She cried to the Lord like a drunken woman till the hearts of God and man were moved. So, the prophet declared to her, Go in peace and the God of Israel grant thy petition: verse 17. You need to have an altar of personal fervent prayer like the prayer of Hannah. It is a prayer that doesn't take no, it continues until something is done. God will do something by His power for everyone who earnestly calls upon His name.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God to send fresh fire upon your altar.
* Repent of all negligence of your personal, intimate relationship with God.
* Promise God that you will never neglect fellowship with Him again.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
I am a seed of Abraham, the root of David and the offshoot of Jesus; no man born of a woman shall be able to uproot me from the land of the living in 2016, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Valuing the Word of God

Sunday 17 January
READ: Mark 6: 1 - 6
MORE LESSON: Matt 13: 13 – 17

It is a very dangerous thing to become too familiar with the Word of God because then it loses its potency in your life. Many people stay in church year after year and attend meeting after meeting but they get nothing out of it because they do not take the Word serious. It is not that the Word of God has lost its power; it is that such people take it lightly. God gives His Word and teachings and some just accumulate revelations upon revelations and they never put them to use; when you put so many bulbs in one place and you do not allow the light to express itself through any outlet, it becomes blinding. That is what has happened to many Christians who have become blinded by many revelations and their lives lack reality because they never put the Word to use; they only keep accumulating head knowledge.

Most ministers of the gospel have noticed that the same teachings and declarations that they proclaim to their congregation without results bring amazing results and testimonies when they go out. It is risky to get so used to God's servants that you make light of what they say. This is one of the reasons destinies are remoulded, people promoted and lives changed and it looks as if some are being left out. The best thing you can do for your destiny is to always take the Word of God and His servants with maximum esteem.

God Himself walked the earth and touched many lives but there were those who didn't benefit from Him. They made light of Jesus Christ saying, Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at Him: Mark 6:3. He came and saved people from their sins but some people are still waiting for the Messiah up till today; they missed their hour of visitation because of familiarity.

Today, I have come to charge you to hold each word that comes from the Lord with great esteem; whether the word comes through His servants or in your personal study, celebrate it and honour it, For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them: Matt. 13: 17. It is your time for a positive change as you honour God's Word and go out to put it to use.

Prayer/Action
* Receive grace to take God’s Word and His servants with maximum esteem, in Jesus’ name.
* Receive a positive change as you honour God and His servants today, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
I declare that the heavens and the earth will not rest until my blessings reach me this year, in the name of Jesus.

The Seed of Abraham

Saturday 16 January
READ: Luke 13:16
MORE LESSON: Gen 22: 15 - 18

Jesus walked into the synagogue one Sabbath day and saw a woman bent by infirmity. Jesus decided to heal her despite the opposition from the religious leaders. The reason that Jesus gave for her to deserve healing was that she was a daughter of Abraham. That talks about relationship; an Israelite is a son or daughter of Abraham and singularly by that relationship he/she has some rights with the God of Abraham which an outsider doesn't have. This is what Jesus was referring to when the Canaanite woman approached Him for healing for her daughter (Matt 15: 26 – 27). Jesus made her understand that the blessing she sought was primarily for those that were related to the covenant of Abraham. Although she persisted and, out of mercy, the Lord gave her what she wanted, the fact still remains that it is only through relationship that one can get the best out of God.

There are blessings that are default to you when you are connected in viable relationship to the Lord. Among them is that your enemies bow at your feet; those that curse you are cursed and those that bless you are blessed. The blessing of Abraham flows to every child of Abraham; this is what worked for Mordecai against Haman who was working against him. Haman wanted to annihilate the children of Israel but even his wife warned him that if Mordecai was a seed of Abraham, anyone who worked against him would pay for it with his life (Esther 6: 13).

Being a seed of Abraham, in our own era of the New Testament, talks about having a father-son relationship with God. It means that you have God as your father through the blood of Jesus. It is not about becoming a church member or even being a church worker. It is not about being born into a Christian home or being a pastor's child. It is about having a definite encounter with God. You decide to confess your sin, accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour and you begin to walk with God personally. When you are the seed of Abraham, things begin to work out for you.

Friend, when you become a son or daughter of Abraham, excellence becomes a way of life. God will fight your enemies with plagues and even smite them dead like He did to Egypt for the sake of Israel-the seed of Abraham. Even though as a seed of Abraham you will face battles in life, you are sure of victory. The things that God will do for a man just because he/she is a seed of Abraham becomes your portion. Are you a seed of Abraham by faith? You can be one today by asking Jesus into your life as your Lord and Saviour.

Prayer/Action
* Thank the Lord because you are a seed of Abraham.
* Ask God that as Abraham’s seed, no privilege will be denied you, in Jesus’ name.
* Ask God for the grace to testify about Jesus to someone today.

PROPHETIC PRAYER

The Great I Am

Friday 15 January
READ: 1 Tiim 1: 17
MORE LESSON: John 1: 1 -3

If you were asked in an examination to define God, how would you define Him? What will you write as the definition of God? The only way to know and understand God is by His attributes. This is the reason the right question is, 'Who is God?' and not, 'What is God?' because you can only answer by saying that 'God is the One who does this and that' or 'God is the One who is so and so'. There is a book that was written in an attempt to explain God but the author mostly wrote on the attributes of God. God cannot be defined but you will know Him when you desire to celebrate His attributes.

Here are a few of His attributes that I have experienced.
1. He is the eternal One: God is the only eternal One; He has no beginning and no end. He is Alpha and Omega; the beginning and the end. So His age doesn't change because He is old; He is ever young; He is called the ancient of days. He is the one that cannot die- He is eternally immortal. If there is any word as “un-kill-able” or “un-die-able” this describes Him. Nothing that exists in Him can end. This is why when you are in Him you cannot end either; you have eternal life.

2. He is the Creator: He made all things and nothing exists without Him (John 1: 1-3). He is the One who created everything out of nothing (Heb. 11: 3). When you understand that He is the Creator, you will not struggle to believe Him for anything. Even if what you trust Him for doesn't exist in the whole universe, He has the ability to create it.
3. He is the Almighty One. When you are talking about being the Almighty, that means He has all the might and can do everything and anything. He is not limited in who He is and what He can do.

4. He is the Great I Am. When Moses wanted to know His name; He said 'I am that I am' (Exo. 3: 14) meaning that He can be anything that He wants to be as the demand is placed on Him. He is the Provider, Protector, Miracle Worker, Warrior and Prince of Peace etc. Whatsoever the occasion demands, He is. He is not limited in role, ability or position; He is all that you need.

Therefore, have confidence and be unshakeable as you go through life, if indeed you serve the God who is everything that you need.

Prayer/Action
* I worship You today oh God Almighty.
* Father, reveal Yourself to me, in Jesus’ name.
* Lord, let my life reveal Your greatness oh Lord.

Know who You are 2

Thursday 14 January
READ: Acts 16: 16 - 18
MORE LESSON: Psa. 139: 14 - 17

In today’s text, Paul and Silas went to preach in a town and a demon possessed girl followed them saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation: Acts 16:17. The demon actually was announcing who these apostles were. But these men knew who they were, they didn't need any demon to tell them who they were. So they cast the demon out. A man cannot do exploits unless he knows who he is. It is the knowledge of who you are in Christ that empowers you to cast out demons.

I had cast out so many demons from the early stage of my ministry that I have lost count. However, I was ministering deliverance once and the demon began to speak, 'You don't talk to me, who are you? You can't do anything.' The pastors present were so angry with the demon; I told them to relax; no problem, if the demon says he doesn't know who I am. I know who I am. I am an anointed servant of God. At the end of the day, he will know. Don't let a demon outwit you by telling you, you are nobody.

I have also seen people do deliverance and celebrate the fact that the demon acknowledged that they are servants of God. That is unwise. It doesn't matter what the demon says or doesn't say; what matters is that you recognise who you are. A man can be messed up in life for lack of knowledge of who he is. Whatever is your calling in life, know it and stay by it.

If you are called into the ministry, know your calling and commission. I have seen people face a servant of God and tell him, 'Are you still preaching, you better go and find something doing, this one that you are struggling to make ends meet.'' If the pastor doesn't know who he is and what he is called to do, such a statement is sufficient to discourage him from ministry. It is only the one who knows who he is that will not be deterred. You may not be getting all the results now but stay at it if that is what God called you to do; He is preparing you for greater things. You can only persist when you are sure about who you are, and persistence is the secret to excellence.

Discover yourself and be confident of who God says you are. Let other people's testimony about you be mere addition so that even if they don't testify, you are still yourself. Know your potentials and capabilities in life and go for a great height of excellence. There is strength in knowing yourself; it saves you from competition and comparison with others. Even if you are doing what others are doing, let there be a uniqueness that comes in as your trademark born out of self-knowledge.

Prayer/Action
* In the name of Jesus, I step into my full place of authority and dominion in Christ Jesus.
* Father, grant me grace to walk in the fullness of Your purpose for my life and nothing will shift me away, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Every step I take this year shall be divinely guided; I shall not miss my targets, in the wonderful name of Jesus.

Know who You are 1

Wednesday 13 January
READ: Exo. 3: 13 - 14
MORE LESSON: Mk 14: 58 - 62

The first step in success and greatness in life is in knowing who you are and what you have. Self-knowledge born out of self-discovery is the foundation of greatness in life. So ask yourself, 'who am I?'', 'what am I here on earth to do?' and 'what abilities do I have to achieve my purpose in life” Even when God wanted to achieve success in leading Israel out of Egypt, He started from the point of self-knowledge. God said to Moses, I am that I am; in other words, He was saying that it doesn't matter what somebody feels or says about Him, He knows Who He is. If the atheist says God doesn't exist or another person says He is not Three-in-One, God says 'I am not disturbed; I am who I am'.

Jesus also lived by that principle; He knew who He was. He would be ministering and demons would be shouting, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.' Jesus told them to shut up, He knew who He was, He didn't need any demon tell Him He was the Son of God. The problem with many people today is that it is demons and false prophets that tell them who they are. If you don't know who you are, people will tell you who they think you are. The first basic step in attaining greatness is to know who you are. People may not know who you really are and may have their own opinions of you but what ultimately determines your success in life is what you know you are, not what someone else thinks you are. The disciples of Jesus didn't even know who He was; they were saying different things about Him. Even Peter who said that He was the Christ; the Son of the Living God (Matt. 16: 16), didn't really understand what he was saying, it was the Holy Spirit that spoke through him. The only thing going for Jesus throughout His life is that He knew who He was.

Today I charge you to prayerfully reflect and discover who you really are. Write out your self-identity, life vision and purpose. Do not let your situations tell you who you are. Let God be the One to tell you who you are. Situations might find you a janitor today but if God says you are a business owner; then know who you are and start working towards it. Search the Word of God by the Spirit of God and discover who you really are. Self-discovery is fundamental to greater heights in life.

Prayer/Action
* Father, help me to discover every potential in me and let them find full expression, in Jesus mighty name.
* Father, I reject every lie of the enemy that makes a man to lose his God-given identity, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
From today, I’m blessed and highly favoured; whatever works against my greatness shall die for my sake.

Exceptional Help

Tuesday 12 January
READ: 2 Sam 5: 6 – 10
MORE LESSON: Psa 18: 29

In today’s text, David led his army against the Jebusites who lived in the rocky fortress. When they heard that David was coming, they mocked him and told him their habitation was so fortified that a weakling like David can't defeat them. In fact, they told him that even if the lame and the blind in the land were to form the army to fight against him, they would defeat him. Obviously, David was still small and had not attained all the greatness he later had. So they under-estimated and mocked him. Everywhere you have been washed down and mocked, the help of God will lift you up and place you above your mockers, in Jesus’ name.

It was like my story in secondary school. One of my teachers once looked at me and said, 'You, even if they give you the answer script and ask you to copy, you will still copy wrongly and fail'. They believed that I would not amount to anything. But today, the Lord has brought me to a great place. After the mockery done to David by the inhabitants, he invaded that city, defeated the people of the land and took over the land. I am particularly impressed with what David did after he took that city; he named it after himself and made it his headquarters: So David dwelt in the fort,
and called it the City of David...: 2 Sam 5:9. That is the city called Jerusalem today; the capital city of the reign of David and the headquarters of the nation of Israel. He turned the place of his mockery to an eternal memorial of his greatness. That is what God is set to do for you today.

It is the exceptional help of God that made David to prevail where he had been disdained. He stated this secret of his success in Psa. 18: 29, For by thee, I have run through a troop; and by my God, have I leaped over a wall. Today, the help of God will locate you and you will amaze critics and enemies to record an astounding victory.

I pray for you today that where people have said there is no place for you, you will become the head. That office that refused to give you a job because you are a child of God will soon be bought over by you. When you enter that office, you will enter as the CEO. An exceptional help is on the way for you this year. God will do for you what you cannot do for yourself. Lift up your hand and shout Amen!

Prayer/Action
* Father, give me honour and praise in every place where I have seen shame, in Jesus’ name.
* Lord, let me have exceptional help as I go out today.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
He that is from above is above all, so shall be my testimony this year; I shall stay above all situation, in the name of Jesus.

God's Favourites 3

Monday 11 January
READ: John 11: 3 - 5
MORE LESSON: Jer. 31: 3

Three were many sick people in the Bible that Jesus healed. Some were healed by Him sending His word to them, some touched Him, some came to Him and prayed Him to come touch their loved ones at home. However, when Lazarus was sick, Mary and Martha merely sent word to Jesus, Lord, the one you love so much is sick. Martha, Mary and Lazarus had taken the extra effort to have a close relationship with Jesus. Jesus always went to their house and whenever He did, Mary would sit with Jesus and let Jesus talk at length with her while Martha would be in the kitchen to cook for Jesus. When Lazarus was sick, they didn't care how busy Jesus was with His great assignment to the whole world, they just sent word to Him. In the text you will see that they even didn't tell Him to come, they merely told Him that Lazarus was sick. They expected Him to know that He should leave everything He was doing and come to help them. That is relationship speaking for Mary and Martha with Jesus. When you cultivate relationship with the Lord so much and become His favourite, He bypasses many to attend to your case.

Eventually Jesus arrived two days later and then both Mary and Martha met Him and said the same thing, Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died: Jn. 11:32. In other words, ''Where have You been? What took You so long? Now he is dead!”

Lazarus was already dead! But dead or not, Jesus wanted to see Lazarus. So He asked them where they buried him and He went to the grave side. When Jesus got to the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus wept: Jn. 11: 35. He then went ahead to call Lazarus from the dead and bring him back to life. Lazarus was not the only person that Jesus raised up from the dead in the Bible. But Lazarus' case has become a memory verse for all today. This is because of the special attention Jesus gave him due to the favour of intimate relationship. How many others did Jesus cry before raising them from the dead? None. When you become God's favourite, when everybody comes asking, He will give special attention to you. And even when He does something generally for people, He adds an extra touch to yours.

You need to get intimate with God to the point that you become a favorite with Him. I emphasise again that God has favourites, everybody is not the same with Him. He loves the whole world and wants everyone saved but when you talk about God giving attention to people, He has favourites. When you become His favourite, your trouble becomes His trouble and your pain becomes His. When you take it upon your heart to win God's heart, you become the envy of men.

Prayer/Action
* Pray that your matter will attract Heaven to rise up for you.
* Pray like Esther, David and Solomon so that Heaven will select you for favour, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
The windows of heaven shall not be shut against me this year; the dew and the rain shall come to my land in their seasons and my harvest shall not fail, in name of Jesus.

God's Favourites 2

Sunday 10 January
READ: Isa. 3: 10 - 11
MORE LESSON: Mal 1: 2 -3

In Isa. 3: 10 -11, God made a remarkable statement, Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, For the reward of his hands shall be given him. This leaves one wondering whether it is not God that created all humans. Why would He look at some and say it shall be well with them and then look at others and declare that it shall be ill with them? This shows that where a person stands with God depends on what he or she does. Being God's favourite is not a chance happening and it is not a right reserved for some. It is a gift from God based on the level of relationship with Him.

It is like what obtains between parents and children. It is not right for parents to have favourites among children but it is eventually a child that determines whether he wins the parent' s heart so that the parent would go an extra mile for him. A man can have children and there is one who serves at home; helping the father and the mother. He wakes up in the morning and cleans the house, assists in everything and obeys the instructions that he is given, whereas there is another who gets up in the morning and escapes from the house to hang out with peers. He then comes home to see if food is ready, eats and steals out again. He might even cause trouble outside and they come and summon the parents that are peacefully staying at home. The parents will give him food and even pay his school fees because of a sense of responsibility but such a child will not get the same level of tips and gifts as the one that pleases the parents.

This is the same with God. Many Christians are not going out of their way to please God and become His favourites. God is merely blessing them because of faithfulness to His word - a sense of responsibility. God so loves the world (Jn. 3: 16), however there are great heights of favour and love that God bestows upon you when you pay the price to become His favourite.

I find this easy to understand when I remember that I love everybody but the access my wife has to me and everything I have is not the same that everybody else has. My wife has a right to everything I have but someone else, even though I love him/her with the love of God, will only get a part of all that I have. There are favourites with God and you can get so committed to the Lord that you come into the class of His favourites. Make your choice now!

Prayer/Action
* Ask God for grace to please Him always.
* Lord, I choose to be Your favourite. Please help me.
* Pray that you will find favour with God and men.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
As the Lord liveth, 2016 will not record my obituary or any evil memorial about my destiny, in the mighty name of Jesus.

God's Favourites 1

Saturday 9 January
READ: Isa 43: 3 - 4
MORE LESSON: Acts 10: 34 – 35

The level of access you have to a person is dependent on your relationship with him. Relationship determines what flows in your direction; therefore what you get from a man is determined by your relationship with him. In the same way, what you get from God depends on your relationship with Him. I want you to know that God has favourites. God is not a respecter of persons and He is not partial (Acts 10: 34). At the same time, He does not give everybody the same level of favour and blessing. Remember that God destroyed the host of Egypt in the Red Sea so that the children of Israel might live. In fact, in Isa. 43: 3, God declared without any remorse that He gave Egypt, Ethiopia and Sheba as ransom for Israel. Why would God, who created everybody, strike three nations dead so that one could be preserved? The answer is revealed in the next verse, Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life. Isa 43:4 (NKJV).

God gave up Egypt, Ethiopia and Sheba to redeem Israel because Israel was His favourite. God is impartial but His impartiality is not in the absence of favourites; it is in the fact that everyman is allowed to determine his place in God's favour. God has favourites but He gives an open chance for anyone who will do the things that are acceptable to Him to win His favour, regardless of gender, race, tribe or genealogy.

Always remember that it is your relationship with God that determines where you stand in His favour. Know also that there are different degrees of relationship with God and the choice is yours where you stand with Him. There are those who He doesn't know at all (Lk. 13: 27). But as many as believe Him become His sons (Jn. 1: 12). Some go ahead to please Him especially and become His friends, like Abraham did (Isa. 41: 8). The disciples of Jesus also served Him till their relationship with Him changed from being mere servants to friends (Jn. 15: 14 – 15). David loved God and desired intimacy with Him so much that he was called a man after the heart of God (Acts 13: 22). Enoch also walked so closely with God as a friend that God took Enoch away without him seeing death. That is exceptional favour! You are the one that determines where you stand with God.

I want you to know that you can choose to become God's favourite today. The first step is to give your heart to Him if you have not done that already. However, even after that, your righteousness, obedience, love, sacrifice, service and intimacy with God continue to place you in a position of favour with Him.

Prayer/Action
* Ask God that Heaven will remain open over you.
* Pray that nothing will hinder your access to God’s throne.
* Declare that you are God’s favourite and all benefits will reach you today.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
In 2016, God will honour my destiny with all-round thanksgiving, in the mighty name of Jesus.

A New Beginning

Friday 8 January
READ: Gen.12: 1 – 4
MORE LESSON: Isa. 51: 1- 2

One of the greatest stories of what God can do with the life of a man that will yield to Him is found in Abraham. After Abraham lived for seventy-five years, he had nothing to show for living. He had no purpose, no achievement, no child and no hope for the future. However, one day this old man had an encounter that changed his life forever and changed the world through him. He encountered the God of Heaven and earth. God called him out of his native land of Ur of the Chaldeans, a land of idolatry, to come and begin a journey of faith with the Almighty. At such an old age when many would have retired from service, Abraham started his and today the rest is history.

Whether you are young or old, I want you to know that you stand a chance at greatness. You can become a reference point for future generations and an eternal excellence. It is not too late to enter into your purpose, all you have to do is to learn from Abraham. Isa. 51: 1-2 puts this advice clearly, Yes, ponder Abraham, your father, and Sarah, who bore you. Think of it! One solitary man when I called him, but once I blessed him, he multiplied (The Message). This is a call to take a cue from the life of Abraham who at seventy five years, was childless, wandering through life aimlessly, but once He encountered the Lord, he became a phenomenon.

It is your turn for a new beginning in life. no matter how many years have gone by and you have nothing much to show for life, you can become the Abraham of this generation. It started for Abraham by obeying the call of God, and so also for you if you will hear the call of salvation from Jesus Christ today. The call of God to Abraham was a call to leave the idols of his father's house and follow the living God. You have to leave all the sins, mindset and ways of life of the past and follow after God. You must answer the call to do the assignment He has for you in life. Your greatness is in the assignment He has for you and it is never too late for you to start. Abraham started at seventy five and he still had enough time to fulfil his purpose and became so great that he is still remembered today.

You can have a new beginning today if you will hearken to the call of the Lord. Whether the call is to salvation, consecration, service, purpose or the call to do something new for the Lord; the day you hearken to His call is the day you commence a new beginning.

Prayer/Action
* Father, like Abraham cause me to encounter You today.
* Let my heart be transformed for the better today by Your encounter with me, in Jesus’
name.
* I receive grace not to dishonour God’s call upon me, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
2016, I command you to open up your goodness to me from today, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Forget not His Benefits

READ: John 11:49-52
MORE LESSONS: I Jn. 1:8-10, Act. 2: 36-40

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Psa. 103:1-2.
One of the characteristics of an ungrateful man is that he is forgetful of the good things he received yesterday. It is very important that you never forget anything God has done for you; it could be through any man- a friend, a relative or a stranger. You must know that it is God who did it and you should appreciate Him first and also the vessel He used. You should be grateful for the seemingly small gifts from God like the fresh air you breathe. You do not pay for the air you breathe but have you ever thanked God for it? Your gratitude is a cardinal point to your next level.

In order not to forget what God has done for you, one thing you should do is to write them down. Many have books where they write what they want God to do for them but they don't have a book to write what He has done. This is not good enough because you may forget His benefits if you don't write them down.
An important thing to do if you do not want to be forgetful of the good things that the Lord has done for you is to testify about them to people. When you testify about the goodness of God, He is glorified in Heaven and then that act of God in your life is sealed such that the enemy cannot reverse or undo it.

Another good way of making sure you do not forget His benefits is to create a memorial of what God has done in your life. It is like creating a monument to immortalise what God has done. Do something that each time somebody sees he will remember that God did something for you. Several people have given things to the church to stand as a monument of their gratitude to God and every time we see such things we remember the benefit of God to them.

Also, you can make permanent the memory of the goodness of the Lord by giving a sacrificial offering – a sacrifice that hurts. When Hannah took Samuel as a gift back to God, that was more than a memorial, it was a sacrifice. God responded by giving her five other wonderful children. When you make a sacrifice you cannot forget, neither will God forget. If you are just a consumer who gets all the blessings and keeps quiet, you will be forgotten. Give a sacrificial offering to God so that you will remember and also be remembered.

Prayer/Action
* Give thanks for all that God has done and is doing for your destiny.
* Thank Him, among other things, for salvation and the life you still have.
* Pray that the spirit of ingratitude will not creep into your life.
* Pray that you will not hide from God and His people all His goodness to you.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, I declare January to December 2016 a permanent season of fruitfulness, multiplication, replenishing and dominion, in the name of Jesus.

Be a Carrier of Good News

Wednesday 6 January
READ: Isa 52:7
MORE LESSON: 2 Sam 1: 1-16

There was a newspaper that was always full of obituaries; the other news in it was scanty as the paper read more like a collection of who and who died in the country. The media is replete with news of hunger, wars, earthquakes and recession. So we have companies and organisations built on and profiting from selling and dispensing bad news.

But as believers in the Lord Jesus and citizens of the Kingdom, our task is to publish good news, How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Isa. 52:7. And there are different dimensions to publishing good tidings. The first is to publish the good news of redemption and salvation that Jesus has purchased for the world. Preach the Word and let ...your feet be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Eph 6: 15. The word 'evangelism' is a derivative of the Greek word which means 'good news' and has the same root as the word 'gospel'. So the message we bear as believers is naturally of good tidings.

This also extends to your relationship with people. Don't be the mouth piece for propagation of unfortunate happenings. When evil happens, it is not your duty to broadcast it, Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? James 3:10-11.

Slander, backbiting and gossip should never be heard from your mouth. When people make negative remarks about others, churches, or the government and they ask for your opinion, find at least one thing to praise God for in that person or situation.

Finally, be a giver of hope by the kind of news you carry. Some people are so good at giving current statistics of death, accident, poverty, layoff and unemployment. They know all the number of people that attempted something and failed and they won't hesitate to dish out their statistics to anybody they see that wants to try to succeed in that same thing. That is not befitting for a believer, But speaking the truth in love, you may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Eph 4: 15. You should speak with all honesty and frankness, but they must be words that encourage and impart grace to the hearer, Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers: Eph 4:29.

I pray as you make the commitment to be a carrier of good news, glad tidings will not cease from your life, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer/Action
* Prophetically shut the door on negative news coming to you for the rest of this year.
* Pray that you will be good news wherever you enter and you will be a giver of same for life.
* Pray that you will not fail God in the compulsory assignment of spreading the good news about Jesus.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
My Father and my God, in 2016, I shall turn the enemy to flight and win territories with no loss, in the name of Jesus.

Pressing towards the Mark l

Monday 4 January
READ: Phil. 3:12-14
MORE LESSON: 2 Cor. 12:1-4

Paul was a man of exceptional grace and revelation. God worked through him and he is on record as an apostle who had more results than the other apostles in his time (1 Cor. 15: 10). He endured hardships and suffered many things for the cause of Christ. The glory of a veteran soldier are the battles he fought and won. When we examine the life of Paul, we will conclude that he was a general for the Lord even while still alive. In visions and revelations, Paul excelled, he wrote in 2 Cor 12:1-4, I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. I believe Paul was talking about himself here. He had visions and revelations in the realm of Heaven beyond what other men were permitted to have. It is this same Paul who wrote about two-thirds of the books of the New Testament.

This means that most of the books that we live, preach, teach from in the New Testament were written by Paul. Paul travelled to continents and reached different sets of people. In preaching, teaching and oratory, Paul was in a class of his own. As a professor of law, he spoke once and a ruler named Felix looked at him and said, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad: Acts 26: 24. He spoke at a level of reasoning that was so much above the intelligence of the king that the king thought that Paul was mad. When a man is too much to be understood, people call him names.

However my intent is not to glorify Paul as only the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is worthy of all glory. The point that makes me wonder about the life of Paul is when in Phil 3: 12 – 14, which is our text for today, he remarked that he had not attained the call of God in his life but he was still pressing to the mark. In fact he said he forgot all that he had done in the past and he pressed toward the prize. If a man with kingdom achievements like Paul was still pressing to do more for God, then no man alive today has the right to think that he has arrived. I want to charge you to forget all the things you have done in the past and press to do more for God. Appreciate God for the past, but don't rest on it. Press towards the mark.

Prayer/Action
* Today, I receive grace and strength to press forward, in Jesus’ name.
* Lord, help me to leave my failure behind so that I can succeed and move forward, in Jesus’ name.
* I declare that I shall not give up in the fight of destiny.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus, I must advance in 2016 and not retreat, in the mighty name of Jesus
